Thanks for your suggestion, eurotrash! I've included it in an updated version, with a picture below. Raising the roof allowed me to include proper windows on the sides of the Mission. When I was designing the Mission, I thought about doing the roof like the Palace Cinema, but that's rather parts-intensive, and I wanted this build to be fairly simple with a sort of classic "Western" or "Classic Town" feel, even though this is, of course, fairly large in comparison to those sets. The roof here is tilted using hinges, so it's very simple, and I've since got rid of the pebbles and things I put on top - those took away from the clean style I wanted. Other features of the update include: Proper roofs on the towers; Doors into the towers from the cloister; Complete modularity! The towers are independent of the hallway are independent of the church. An extra layout is shown at the bottom. And rearranged: Thanks again for reading!

The one on the far right is much improved over the original. Good job!

Well done! It looks very junky but coherent in form at the same time. I love the combination of skis and Wolverine claws in particular, but you have creative piece uses all over the place.

They both look rather respectable; I happen to prefer the shuttle. Is there anything you could do to slim the Defender down to the appropriate hourglass-shaped silhouette? The defender also looks like it should perhaps be a plate or two longer.

Hello everybody! I've always wanted to make a Spanish Mission and recently some inspiration came to me and I finally made one! I call it the Mission San Luis de Las Casas after Bartolome (who lived in Mexico, but I don't really care). My main concern is that the roof of the central chapel is too high; if anyone can opine and tell me what they think about it, I'd really appreciate it. As always, see more on Flickr. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the link; it's a bit of a help, but there isn't much information about the stores in VA.

Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Wait, let's go over this again. So you have a strong feeling against policy lynching. Do you have reasons (you haven't given any), or is it just irrational and hostile? So now policy lynching is a well-debated topic that deserves our attention, but you are very much against it? You are very clearly, without any misinterpretation, spouting mixed messages. You know, that rustles my jimmies Jamies the wrong way. I think you're my "best bet" for scum now. Vote: Adelaide Malone (Adam) And, Rolfie, I would contend that if you have to argue about people's behaviour surrounding a "policy lynch", it devolves into an argument about the lynchee's scumminess, turning it into a normal lynch. -

And I disagree - when there's a policy lynch there's nothing like that going on - it's a matter of rule-breaking. Only when we want to lynch someone for being scummy do we pull out of the station with flip-flopping, bandwagoning and all that other nice stuff you talk about. Why? My statement merely pointed out that Shane was saying stupid things, and that caught my attention. I think you're twisting my words there, Rolfie. Yes. No. Let's write a play about Byron the Magician, Henry the Hairbrush, Cat and Hat. Byron: I think Henry the Hairbrush is too quiet! Let's policy lynch him for being quiet! Cat: OK! Lynching quiet people is easy to do and doesn't attract suspicion. Hat: Well, I can't think of anything better to do, so let's lynch Henry! Byron: Yeah! Way to go! So poor Henry the Hairbrush was lynched, because it was easy for everyone to vote for the quiet person. The town has nothing to go on on Day two. In conclusion: I do not want to policy-lynch anyone and I think that Cap'n Rolfe is reading too much into what I've said to make it appear that I do want to policy-lynch someone. The person we think is scummiest, of course. You're right that we don't have a "best bet" yet, but as more people talk and argue, one will probably appear. -
Very nice, bmjackson81! It looks very realistic, like lots of houses in my neighbourhood. The extension at the back makes the build fresher and more interesting, so good job with that as well.

I've been to Brickbuildr already, and the results for two of the stores I'm interested in are a bit old (a few months). In terms of small plates (1x1, 1x2, 1x4, 2x2 corner, etc.) in light tan (and, to some extent, dark tan), what is the selection like at: Water Tower Place (Chicago, IL) Tysons Corner (McLean, VA) Potomac Mills (Woodbridge, VA) If anyone's been to any of those recently and would like to share, it'd be a great help. Thanks! Oh, and dark bley tiles 2x4 too.

Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
No no no no no! A policy lynch occurs when someone broaches one of our family's "policies". So if we lynched someone because he or she is quiet, we will not have lynched that person because they appeared scummy - trying to analyse the voting pattern from a policy lynch would only reveal who was for and against the policy lynch, not who thought and who didn't think that person was scummy. You know, Kristina and Cap'n Rolfe, why don't you enlighten us as to what we can learn from the voting leading up to a policy lynch? Isn't everyone "normally all for lynching"? The fact is, the manner in which Tam has forced us to out the Ferraris, we cannot go willy-nilly revealing secrets to whomever we want in the day or night. Unless a PR is willing to out him or herself early on in the game (please correct me if I'm wrong), I see no way that Night Two, or even Night Three, could be different from tonight. The best way to go about tonight is to choose our "best bet" for a Ferrari and find out, with certainty, his or her alignment tomorrow night. And then we'll have the bonus voting patterns and reactions that go along with lynching people. -
Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather

We can poke at what attracts our attention. In fact, I am surprised that such an experienced mafioso as you would trot out the Day One "Well shucks, I don't know what to do" line. In fact, I can picture the headline: "Cocaine ABS-addled Dealer Babbles Incoherently" How's that for a news story, Tam? -

I say, a free set would be a nice perk, but your 1% certainly provides enough money for you to buy one for yourself. -
Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Of course the Ferraris have it out for King Malone and his Arthurian court of murderous Mafiosi... they're jealous! We just need to get rid of all these Saurons and Mount Dooms Ferraris and their mole-hills and then up our security practices. And then Ole King Tam will rule over us forever . -
4851 Spiderman Origins: How much is it worth?
jimmynick replied to Legofin2012's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Looking at Bricklink, you'll probably spend $30-40 on minifigures, not including shipping. You could sell the set, complete, for $100. I think that if all the bricks are there, you could do it. But if the bricks aren't all there, it's probably more money than it's worth to make $50. -

Mafia After Dark - Day 1: Confirmation
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hey, hey Tam, how's this for a headline: "Wicked Witches Infiltrate Court of King Malone"? That's off to a good start - all y'all in the audience had better help us catch these motherferraris! -
She's obviously upset at the moment (whether she's right or wrong) but she'll no doubt build with her LEGO again - she'll just present what she builds in a different forum than CUUSOO. And that's good - while her builds were popular on CUUSOO, that's the wrong forum on which to present MOCs. It's the wrong attitude to take that the purpose of building is to submit what you've made as a candidate for production by TLG.

Mafia After Dark - Day 1: Confirmation
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hold on, hoooold on everybody, I gotta check those press passes for today's press conference with Tam Malone. Now, if y'all can just get in a straight line, I'll check you out and y'all can head on in. -
That's a nice way to make the sloped rear end. Good job, Laservampire!

I don't put much stock in YouTube comments, but it's obvious that there's a large echo chamber surrounding BrickQueen that stands by her without question. The only people who know what happened on CUUSOO are BrickQueen, CUUSOO and perhaps a couple of other people. BrickQueen maybe right or she may be wrong; we are in no position to judge her without knowing all the facts behind her account suspension. I think CUUSOO have done a good job locking down on the inflammatory comments posted to tjspencer's and others' pages, and we'll just have to wait and see what they decide in the end. And if the issue is completely to do with the Jurassic Park projects, that's sad. The IP doesn't belong to any of the posters and any CUUSOO user has the right to post a JP project and some of the projects are better than others.

I wouldn't buy the Marina Bay Sands, but I can completely understand the decision to release an Eiffel Tower in the Architecture line; they are geared for different markets. Just like the recent Sydney Opera House from the Creator line, when there has already been the Architecture version.
