I remember in the first pics of the set the tires where diferent, but them on the official ones the tires became this ones. Easy MOD, maybe a good result with the tires of the racing car, 60953.

Thanks JayCal! Do you have the ID of those doors? It sits perfectly on the place of the older ones our do you have to do some kind of changes to the rest of the build? I'm sorry if i'm bothering you but it's my first time in this kind off quest... Never done any BL, PaB our BnP order before. Since i came back from my Dark Ages i only bougth sets, was able to still get the GG at a high price from a local seller were in Portugal, and i have been collecting the rest of the modulars (its only missing the PR!) But i was always sorry for not getting the first two ones... I guess i will try first with CC and them maybe go for the MS. Unfortunately no Lego Store in Portugal so no access to physical PaB walls... What a shame...

Wow! That's exactly what i needed/wanted! Thanks! I'm thinking in starting this quest also but was not sure of the more complicated pieces and ways to bypass them, because i was not sure off the possible alternatives or if some pieces really mattered if they were hiden or not! This post will work as my base! If anyone has something to increase to the post, please do so! I already read about the door, is it to eye-striking the diference in the completed build. About the coluns i saw in brickset that the more complicated ones only appeared in 3 diferent sets, and those sets are a bit old, so rare pieces... Any way to have the same aspect with diferent pieces? Our diferent color?

Probably is already in the topic but can someone make a briefing of rarer/costly pieces in CC and some ideas in how to bypass those issues! Diferent color, two pieces instead of one that is pricier. It must be in the topic by now, but this is getting big and with a briefing we could all participate and put the ideas in one merged post!

What do you mean when you say lots? Are there any predetermined lots, for anyone who wants to start this project? CC or MS? Does it refer to individual types of pieces staked in lots? If so where can i find that discrimination of lots? Not sure of the question is clear enough...

Someday i will also start this quest for the MS and CC. This topic is being very usefull. Fortunately i'm not a purist so i will just skip the minifigures and occupy my modulars with collectible minifigures series! :) Please keep posting with all the diferent aproaches and customizations that allow these builds to become cheaper! ;)

Yes please! That would be great! I also have 2 HE (in their boxes...), and i was thinking in powering them, but with all the diferent ideas i don't know were to start... An article in railbricks with the diferent aproaches and a lot of photos in how to fit in the components, and some ideias in how to build the Jacobs boggie would really help!!!

Nice build! In my opinion i don't like the use of the jail dors in the garage, and the litle croissant is not enough to anounce the bakery. Maybe a bigger sign with some croissants, bread, baguettes, cookies. And if you put a door in the lateral wall of the second floor, you could make use of the balcony. But the way it is, i couldn't do better!

Either train you get, the passenger our cargo train, if you can wait some time they might have a decrease in their price. Newer train sets will arrive in the second wave of Lego in 2014. The Cargo Train was the first set i bought after i leave my Dark Ages, so that´s my choise, but with a 3 years old child i don´t know if the simpler Passenger trains isn´t better.

After a bit more of investigation looks like the 70813 wont be a 2 in 1 set. Althought in the back of the box there is some kind of code associated to the videogame... Some kind of online intructions maybe? Its a too good set not to have an alternate build of a great firetruck!!! Obviously, one can always MOC one... After all thats the main message of the movie i guess!

Another excelent review of the Lego Movie Sets For me as a Lego City fan, yesterday i was thrilled when i realized that this sets had an alternate build. So the 70804 IceCream Machine; 70805 Trash Chomper (although i already have the 4432 Garbage Truck, but i believe they can get along in the same city layout!) and 70811 The Flying Flusher whent to the top of my to buy list in 2014 along with most of the City Great Vehicles Collection. You said in your review that there are no more 2 in 1 sets... What about the 70807 The MetalBeards Duel and the 70813 Rescue Reinforcements? They could be excelent alternate builds of Pirates and Fire them respectively! Aren´t they also 2 in 1 sets?
