  1. Thank you for the comments . I'm glad you guys/girls like it and that I was able to get a good amount of creepy across. The lighting was really fun to play with (although would have been more so if I had a spare set of batteries...). Now, back to catching up on commenting...
  2. These figures work really well for a swampland Nocturnus tribe - and I like how you have the plants hanging over the swamp. I'm not to crazy about the colour choices for the swamp itself, but the technique behind it is really neat (I'd love to see how it would look with mostly darker colours and maybe event a few trans pieces...)
  3. Nice swampy feel going on - I'll admit I wasn't sure what the grey thing was at first, but I now definitely see the squirrel, that's a really creative combination of parts.
  4. I love the rock work , the textures, details, and different angles you're able to create is just fantastic! Oh, and the tribe idea is great too.
  5. Nice work setting up the shots and using effective lighting to create an ominous feel and make the figures look like they are shadows (awesome tribe idea too.) I really like how well you were able to capture the idea of a temple with the architectural style. One idea (although I'm not sure how hard it would be) would be to try and light the scene in such a way that the fire looks like it's the only source of light...
  6. I love the huge tree , and the figures with the Chima heads work really well. Nice work with the landscaping - having the lower swamp area looks good, and those are some scary looking plants. The one thing that I think would enhance this a bit would be to stick it on a dark background - then the colours (especially the dark reds) would stand out nicely.
  7. Those are really nice custom figs - and the rock work inside the cave is great! The only thing I would suggest is maybe doing a shot where we can't see the outer part of the build (or cropping one of the images) - it might give the impression of being in the cave as well as lend the viewer to thoughts of a vast underground network, as opposed to actually being able to see where it ends...
  8. I just had to say that the sheer number of entries is astounding (and a lot of them are really good). I've been trying to keep track of my favorites for when voting time comes, but that list is now heading towards 15, and I'm trying to be very picky...(will the winner be determined by vote? or is this raffle style? - I don't think it was mentioned anywhere...). Also, huge kudos to the contest organizers - did you anticipate so many entries?
  9. Great idea for a tribe - the figs are awesome, and the snot sacrificial platform works really well
  10. Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yup - my first try at customizing too - I'm somewhat surprised that they turned out quite well (although, the dark/shadowy lighting does help the appearance, lol) That's right fellas - get cracking!
  11. My tribe build is up! Jareth and Lord Vladivus have gotten us off to a good start and I'm looking forward to a large influx of tribes .
  12. Along the northern bluffs, deep below the dark waters, lies the vast kingdom belonging to the Drakarkan. A tribe of several hundred of these half man/half fish occupy the endless underwater caverns. It is said that they can control the sea and command the monstrous creatures in it - many ships have met their doom attempting to sail across the north coast of Nocturnus. They also hunt those foolish enough to seek treasure in the caves along the coast - those glints of red are not the shimmer of precious rubies... The Drakarkan collect the bones of their victims and bind them with the skeletons of sea creatures to create more of their kind. They believe that one day they will have the strength to raise the oceans and conquer the world - for now they continue to assemble their host. Woot! I got a tribe build done (I hope I haven't encroached upon a claimed location and that these guys fit in with the the Nocturnus feels ) - I had some fun playing around with the lighting - trying to create a bit of atmosphere... Here is a brighter picture of the build by itself so you can see a bit more of what it consists of. Comments/criticism always appreciated.
  13. I have to agree with the other comments - you've done an amazing job matching the likeness of the characters - and the rest of the moc is great too.
  14. That creature is awesome! The photography is really effective in the first/last image, and I can see the colour scheme working - right now the purple/turquoise looks like a heavy mist crawling along the ground - looking forward to the haunted forests.
  15. Nimueh and her fearsome companion the Dark Horse, roam the vast shadow-lands of Nocturnus always in search of wisdom, for knowledge is power. She prefers to avoid the many tribes, and instead mostly keeps company with the wild animals; lending them aid if she is able, and learning their secret ways. The war of the Elementals wrought great destruction over the land, and with the rise of the Black Spire, the chaos in Nocturnus has spurred Nimueh into entering (albeit reluctantly) into this war. After much consideration and consultation with the feral creatures, Nimueh declares for Lord Ssilyrrlith. I've been lurking around GOH for a while and was too intimidated to join, but I've finally decided to take the leap - I'm not too sure how much I'll be able to participate - but it sounds like there was lots of planning put into this so those of us with fewer blocks/less time could still play a part. Looking forward to see where the story goes!
  16. Congratulations to Fianat and Etzel - well deserved . This was a great contest and lots of fun to partake in, a thank you to the organizers and participants!
  17. I too thank you, Sandy, for taking the time to give everyone feedback. I'm glad that you liked my build .
  18. Shrine of the Blessed by Etzel Temple of Ennoc by Fianat There are several more that I really like - picking just two was tough!
  19. There are some amazing entries - especially within the last bunch posted. Overall there are a good number of beautiful Mocs with great construction, unique parts usage, wonderful stories, and they're well photographed... voting is going to be hard .
  20. Definitely Reese's Pieces - Yum!
  21. Super excited for this - although I'm picturing Lego versions of the scenes right from the movies (ie for one of Ariel's: the branches of a light teal willow surrounding a blue lagoon with lily pads and bull rushes, some glow-in-the-dark fireflies, and Sebastian); if they make it really princess-y with lots of pinks , that would be disappointing. Like several others have said, I too would prefer minifigures over minidolls, but if the sets themselves are faithful to the source material, I'd be happy with that.
  22. Thanks for the lovely feedback everyone. Yep - And thank-you for the inspiration. By the way Your Paladin Order Mocs are beautiful, the architecture is great, and I really love the colour scheme. (I should also give credit to all the QMs who have created Mocs and/or described the various locations in Eubric - the majority of my little buildings are based (as best as I was able) on your work, I hope you don't mind me borrowing!) I don't think I'll be able to do instructions per se, however I will certainly take some more detailed pictures and post them. There's some great entries so far (I hope we get lots of points to vote with so I don't have to only pick out one or two favorites); I'm looking forward to seeing more...
  23. My entry is in. I hope you guys like it .
  24. "The Freeport of Eubric lies on the island of Uland, which is the largest of the Free Islands. The city belongs to no nation, and thus it has grown into the trading hub of the whole world. Envoys from every country and race come there to exchange merchandise and information, and solitary adventurers seeking fame and fortune." ~ From the Library at Heroica Hall Sailing into the harbor past the lighthouse and the fish market: I'm in the "completely new to this part of Eurobricks" group and first off I have to say this world that you have all created is huge and wonderfully detailed - Congrats on a successful two years of RPGing. Armed with Sandy's map and Google site search I did my best to replicate the descriptions/Mocs that you have created of the various locations in Eubric, into a micro size version of the city. It was tricky, but with a little bit of squishing, shifting, and disproportionizing I think I was able to fit everything in... A little messier looking than I was aiming for but hopefully there are some recognizable landmarks. Comments/critiques always welcome. And good luck to everyone entering! Bigger versions here
  25. Congratulations to the winners! Well deserved
