  1. TRU near me had all the sets in stock and all $20 higher than lego.com
  2. I can't see profit getting higher in the future. What if Lego releases this set again with a regular box. No profit at all for resellers.
  3. What the f. So I went to the local lego store which had put one on hold for me. Bought it and wouldn't let me buy two because they need it for kids to buy. I said I have both of my sons with me, what's wrong they are not in the right age group? Lol. The guy was like uh now what, haha. Lame. $199 usd. I'll just send my wife up there.
  4. @Blakbird: how much more progress has been made? I do not recall a mention of part cost in USD. What cost would you estimate in blue and would a substitute color be an option?
  5. Just called my local lego store in Ohio USA. In stock and have already been for sale. Said they also had plenty whatever that means. I think people are stressing for no reason :)

  7. When I was a kid I got the chance to walk under the chassis of that bigfoot and take my picture standing in the tire. I can't remember if it was the national auto-rama or not. Anyways I am going to do what blakbird did. I got all the parts and rc4wd rock crushers I might as well build it.
  8. I must mention again as I did during your build process.... fantastic job!!!
  9. Do a search here for the same subject. Thread was locked. If news was out it would have been pinned up top.
  10. Back on June 22, 2013 our friend from rebrickable did... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83836&st=0
  11. Great to see mods already being done to this. You should remove the music and explain the mods in the video.
  12. @Blakbird: How do these two stack up to each other, function and part wise? Dikkie's Tow Truck looks to have better proportions and less clutter. Also, not to get off topic, what is your opinion if you were to throw Sephirot's Kenworth T800 TS into the mix? All three in a collection would be awesome. When available I am really looking forward to purchasing the TowTruck xl instructions, you do fantastic work.
  13. There will always be something bigger and better than what Lego puts in mass production otherwise 4000+ part sets would be the norm. So yes there are many bigger mobile crane mocs than the 42009 :) Anyways, Designer Hans mocs in addition to his website and free instructions is what Lego moc'ing is all about. I hope to someday build this crane along with his 10x4 dump truck.
  14. I had seen this on youtube a while back. It is a magnificent creation to say the least and probably in my opinion one of the most detailed and massive tow truck moc's to date. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  15. How do you start these MOC's? I also am curious how do you fine tune the small details to be so exact? Does your memory serve you so good that the entire Lego part database is stored inside of your head which lets you order exactly what you want from Bricklink? This is just to awesome.
  16. This is about the 4th useless thread in a row
  17. Fantastic moc but a dumb thread title.
  18. @gmshades: thanks. Now I wonder if I should obtain the necessary parts and build this for display.
  19. Very good techniques. I like the motor. I seen the same parts used in someone's elses youtube video. I like it as I am tired of building the standard lego motor.
  20. I wish someone would post pics of the finished crane.
  21. How did you verify all of the required parts vs the parts you owed? Literally check off one by one off the list?
  22. Hinckley gave me my title "Brutally Self Aware" because I replied to my own post "This thread I started sucks." Glad to see someone other than me could laugh at the nonsense in that thread.
  23. Let me ask you, did you import the parts list into Bricklink wish list? What is the overall cost of this build?
