  1. I would either go for realism/scale/proportion and not worry about fitting two figs side by side or go for a more vague approximation of realism/scale/proportion and fit the figs in as you want. I think if you do both it's just going to end up either big and unwieldy or unstable. Cheers Rog
  2. I didn't think there was anything wrong the front end or the headlights... Cheers Rog
  3. A great start to a difficult subject model. First impression is that I think that the front end had too much step between the edge of the bonnet and where it meets the windscreen so it doesn't look stubby enough and that the back is not flat enough. The three small VW group cars all have very flat back end. I would make the door handles stick out too. Definitely recognisable though and a great start. Looking forward to the next update... Cheers Rog
  4. I'd agree with what's on your list now and also the suggestion to make the windows all black. The rear badge defo needs to come back - although I wonder if LEGO/SEAT will actually complete the finished models with sticker SEAT badges and number plates? I wouldn't worry about the exhaust too much though as I think if you make it flush it will be less of a feature. Great work and nice how well the LEGO red matches the SEAT red. Looking forward to the next update! Cheers Rog
  5. Larger Boots stores are currently selling Movie CMFs for £1.50 Not sure how long this is on for. Cheers Rog
  6. It did a bit... I like the phrase mini-modding BTW Fair point. I saw the badges and assumed. He is a self-confessed mini-mod though... Cheers Rog
  7. Bam! And a heavy handed moderator once again jumps on a perfectly reasonable new topic with an immediate telling off. The points made are valid - especially for those who don't want to trawl through pages and pages of pro/anti Simpsons rhetoric elsewhere in the forum. I agree with each of the points and can see value in reusing the body parts and accessories in city/town scenes and models. They are no more unusable than (for example) the clockwork robots, zombies, etc in the other collectable minifig ranges. Cheers Rog
  8. Thanks guys. I had sussed what my tag was and have seen the explanations of others in sub forums but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything! Some of them are obvious whilst others are quite intriguing and the possibility that no-one exactly knows what some are is quite cool. Thanks for the info! Cheers Rog
  9. Still leaves my question unanswered... Cheers Rog
  10. I like the front end of the jeep in the fire plane set 4209: Cheers Rog
  11. We need more photos to see how much like a Panamera this model is. The side profile and rear end are the distinctive areas of the Panamera. Front on it's hard to tell what car this model is... Cheers Rog

    Car Talk

Great trip and great photos. Thanks for sharing. Very jealous!! Cheers Rog
  13. Disappointed by the trains. The cargo train is too American and i don't like the large single piece ends on the passenger train. I do like the station though as long as the price isn't too daft. Cheers Rog
  14. I was pleased with the dark tan pavement too. I'm trying to give the new end of the town a different feel to the more standard modular street that I'm also building. That said, even my standard modular street has wider pavements than normal and flower beds running the length of it although it is dark grey as you would expect. I just need to get the square between the two modern buildings right and then I can start on the interiors. I think one of the buildings will have flats upstairs and the other will have offices. I then need to decide on what retail to put in on the ground floor. ...and don't worry about ted - he's been with me for 30 years and isn't going anywhere! Cheers Rog
  15. I really like this set and I do own one myself. I think that the racing car design is very neat - and the black bits should be there as they represent the undertray of a real F1 car: Nice review! Cheers Rog
  16. Oh yeah. Just noticed the original posting date. Strange I didn't spot this one until now... Cheers Rog
  17. Before you go ahead and build it I would think about adjusting the front very slightly. On the example photo, the gold grille does not come down to between the headlights. I would replace the bottom two gold grilles with black tiles and lose the black bumper. This will match the Hino front end better. Nice job though. Cheers Rog
  18. I could say that: "I like the diametrical relationship twixt contemporary and historical" But the truth is: "The castle is big and not very strong so is stuck where it is for the duration..." Cheers Rog
  19. Thanks for the feedback guys! They're not based on real building as such but I have used ideas from real buildings in places. Interiors are on the list to be done and i have some ideas but I want to finish the square and some of the exterior detailing around the buildings first. Cheers Rog
  20. The modern modular building now has a sister. Again I wanted to keep with the corner modular shape and size and also have a proper contemporary look but at the same time be very different to the original. I think I have achieved this. Once again a retail space with two offices/apartments upstairs. I have also continued with my modern take on a modular pavement, lamp posts, etc and have also begun to build a public space in between the two buildings although this still needs a lot of work. First pic shows the front three quarter view: Next pic shows the rear of the building which is plain so that it can sit next to another modular but also has some flush windows so that it can stand alone: Here a view of the new building on the right alongside its sister to give a comparison of (fairly equal) size of the two: Last shot is of the ground floor retail unit with the top floors removed: Cheers Rog
  21. While the town of Windsor is low lying and was affected, Legoland is on a big hill (with some great views). Cheers Rog
  22. Thanks, I'd seen those but it's only a small selection and it doesn't explain what they actually mean... Cheers Rog
  23. I would be interested to know what the various tags actually mean (if anything!). Some, like MOC Expert, are obvious but others are less clear. I've looked for these but cannot find a list or explanation... Cheers Rog
  24. I love architecture and love LDD so I guess that counts me in! Great contest! Cheers Rog
  25. I really like the look of the building taking shape on the corner. Just my style of modern urban building so will be interested to see how it develops... Cheers Rog
