  1. Most of the Chima I purchased was on clearance. The style is not really my taste and the parts are not very reusable for historic / castle building for me. That said, they are great as vehicles based off of animals. It is like saying a car is terrible when you really just prefer a motorcycle. If the minifig prints are able to be reused in a more traditional castle / historic setting, I think this line will be a success. LEGO has a lot of different types of fans and we all want something completely different. I think they will find a way to make these sets appealing to AFOLs as well as kids. If not, I might just spend more time and money on CMFs, Ninjago, and Modulars.
  2. The Yeti head mold was reused in Chima before Square Foot. He strikes me as very plain but we got such great new molds on other characters that I don't mind too much. That said I am already ready for the next regular series.
  3. LEGO already gave us Medieval Market Village. They know there is AFOL demand for it but there is only so much capacity for these types of sets. This year the Ninjago temple takes that slot.
  4. I think we could get a D2C set for Pirates but then it is done for until the next cycle. LEGO needs media tie-ins to drive most of their sales. They supported their original IP with Ninjago and Chima shows as well as the upcoming Nexo Knights. Even the movie tie-ins are hit and miss. For every successful them like Jurassic World, they seem to have clearance fodder like Lone Ranger, Man of Steel, or Prince of Persia. I would expect the PotC line to return with the next movie. The Shareholders report said that it exceeded expectations that last time.
  5. Our next meeting is September 26th.
  6. Spotted at Walgreens in Oklahoma City. I picked up five but didn't bother feeling them as I was late to work. My haul was two zombie cheerleaders, a wacky witch, square foot, and the phantom.
  7. Kalhiki, it was only "confirmed" by someone who pretended to have a catalog. A lot of the news we had in this thread was a fake. The only hard info we have is the incomplete list of sets on German Amazon and a logo.
  8. I will probably get one for the black door and plain orange heads. New prints would be nice but none of these seasonal sets had new printing. Also LEGO would not want to hurt the sells of the Scooby Doo sets or CMF mini figs by including their new parts this year.
  9. Can you make out any details on the weapons, coat of arms, or soldiers? How useful are they to a traditional Castle theme?
  10. Actually LEGO having the Ghostbusters license will hurt it since LEGO likely has already considered the set. I don't think a LotR set will get approved via Ideas. But for each one we get there, we make LEGO consider the viability of further sets.
  11. Yes, he can. If LEGO finds out which retailer shared confidential images from the catalog, LEGO will not provide them future catalogs. He also said that this year's catalog has a specific identifier in the watermark to indicate which retailer catalog the images came from. As a prior poster said if he PMs the images, someone would eventually post them and LEGO would know where the leaks come from. I am satisfied with the descriptions of the sets and figures he is giving us and would still welcome even more detail.
  12. I thought so too, but I also enjoy seeing these old downtown areas. I was in Van Buren, AR and saw that open stairs like that. Of course there is a door at the top of the stair.
  13. The thought of a prancing stag shield is exciting... as long as it is on a regular shield, not a trans blue Chima shield. I can take trans blue armor since it can just be removed... it the torso prints fit a more historical setting.
  14. Can you tell us what the coat of arms are for each knight?
  15. A tower the rolls is not really that far out... if it were a siege tower. Legs sound just like decoration. I thought BrickJager was being fanciful when calling the lava and Rick monsters golems, but with an elemental sigal that actually makes sense. I am trying to stay positive here but I want to like these.
  16. Thanks for the clarification, Just2Good. We really need a regular series after Monsters.
  17. It might be the next one, but hopefully it won't be named Series 15. Because if it was, I would worry about never getting a regular series again. Disney Animated Characters (DAC) wouldn't be bad as long as I could reuse them. The Old Hag from Snow White would be very useful so would Aladdin.
  18. Ninjago is an action theme that relays heavily on vehicles, but they get at least one playset a wave. If Nexo Knights gives us something like Temple of Airjitsu, the entire theme will be worth it.
  19. Gedren, make no mistake, I am in favor of female knights or other warriors in Nexo Knights and other LEGO themes. However, I had lengthy and I believe respectful discussions with Itaria on his opinion. Keep in mind LEGO is a global brand so modern sensibilites vary depending on the part of the world. Itaria has pointed out in the past that he has often seen boys deciding against a LEGO set because it included a female minifigure. And he is not the only one that has seen it.
  20. There are two aspects to female warriors in toys. Historically speaking female warriors were less common than their mail counterparts. That even goes on now. Yesterday the first US Army Ranger class to admit women graduated two of the nineteen that began the training. However, this has varied in different cultures. I do not believe that women were uncommon warriors in Viking culture for example. Nexo Knights being sci-fantasy can decided for themselves how common female warriors are in that fictional world. The second aspect is how will the target demographic (boys) respond to the inclusion of female characters. I never had any such problems as a kid and I know that my niece will love Nexo Knights (she also loves Ninjago, Star Wars, and Friends). But Itaria's experience comes from working in a toy store in Italy so his experience is different than mine. But even in the United States, I have seen mothers drag their daughters away from the LEGO ailse because it was boy toys. Is it LEGO responsibility to change how parents gender program their children? I don't think so. But it is a good business decision for LEGO to make Nexo Knights appeal as broadly as possible. That includes adding female hereos and villians to NK as well as stuff for AFOLs.
  21. Dr Cogg, I doubt anyone here would turn down such a set. But what you call "throwing us a bone", I call giving us all missing minifigs we are clamoring for. Though Eowyn seems out of place as Queen to King Elsesser. Shouldn't that be Arwen? Of course, we want the Eowyn more. I don't understand how Ghostbusters scored all those new molds (Slimer and Stay Puff Marshmallow Man). Maybe a future wave will have some new LotR characters...
  22. Thanks Itaria. That is good news. I could use a regular theme for my historic and castle needs. I suspect I won't find anything like that in Nexo Knights. I hope S15 has the same kind of balance as S13. I found most of those figs useable in either a historic context or to populate my modular street.
  23. Rob, the jester hat has been a round for some time and was even used on the Birthday Cake set this year. It would have been a full Kingdoms jester except the legs were missing. Gedren, I like the idea of LEGO going with another truly historic theme during Nexo Knights run such as a Grecco-Roman or Viking theme. Otherwise, I think we will have to continue to rely on the Collectible Minifigures for new product.
  24. While that is an exaggeration, I wonder if S14 will get clearanced as they are more seasonal than a normal CMF. Not that I would recommend waiting for a clearance on these.
  25. BrickJagger, since you are the original poster, it would be nice if you can update the first post with the logo and the information we have from the German site.
