Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Blakstone replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Can we move this Simpson conversation to another thread such as a "Simpson 2016?" thread? I would create one but I don't care for it. Getting back on topic for Disney, I would hope that keep the regular minifig heads where appropriate. That is one of the reason that I did not like The Simpsons.- 4,155 replies

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Blakstone replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I am not interested in any of the Disney characters per say. I would like many of animated characters for their use in historic and fantasy builds. Yes to Jafar and Peter Pan but also to Mulan, Captain Hook, Maleficent, Pocahontas, and any of the princes. I prefer the CMF or licensed minifigures because of the detailed printing.- 4,155 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Blakstone replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
LEGO parts are all math. It makes since that they designed the pot of gold to be compatible with the handle even though they had no immediate plans to use it that way. I doubt they designed the bucket handle to be also be a scooter kickstand or a samurai helmet decor either. In fact, LEGO never intentionally planned most of these contacts. There are just a few different perimeters for parts. I am a fan of the MyMinis app by Cherry HIll Technology. I recommend it for any CMF fan. It is a handy reference when you are in a store and come across an older series. My favorite part though is the Collection by Theme section. This morning had an update for Series 14 and all of them were added to Spooky Creatures. That works but I would rather have the banshee, gargoyle, and square foot, in Fantasy and Myth. I would also move Skeleton Guy to Traditions and Holidays. Of course, I am still hoping the Warrior Woman moves from Ancient Americas to either Fantasy and Myth or Ancient Europe since she is an Amazon warrior of Greek myth not a resident of South America. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

More troubling is the German (?) retailer site lists both the Disney and fotbal series for January when I thought Series 15 was next. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

My take is that Itaria knows exactly the one but promised his source not to specifically state. That is why the hint about the mold from S13 or S14. Itaria may know more about some of this series. But if so, he will tell us in time. If you want to read through the tea leaves, look at his Series 15 guessing game. I think you guys correctly determined that the Satyr in his list means that he will be in Series 15. Perhaps one of Itaria's other guesses is more than a guess too. -
What would you like for the next Castle line?
Blakstone replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ideally, I would have Vikings vs Knights. You could have Vikings shields, a Viking hall, as well as siege towers on the Vikings side. The knights would have a wolf heraldry (think Stark on Game of Thrones) will a village, a modular castle where you can add extra wall segments (think Uruk Hai Army). But with Nexo Knights, I don't see returning to regular knights any time soon. Perhaps a straight Vikings or Roman line would be possible. -
Hmm... another line with Dimensions support is rumored for a Direct to Consumer (D2C) set in January: Ghostbusters Fire House. The number of licenses that are getting a D2C is expanding to the point that a second Lord of the Rings D2C might be possible. When we do normally know what all the D2C sets there are in a year?

Today my favorite is the Viking Woman. As Karalora said, she could be Brunhilda from Wagner's opera or have a place at a mead hall. The print is amazing as well as the new hair / helmet mold. Tomorrow my favorite is likely to be one of any number of excellent minifigs.

We should have official photos by either Nov 15 or December 1 at the latest.

LEGO is protecting there brand. Blurry leaked images can destroy interest in a product and an announcement that comes too early can cause fan fatigue when the products finally arrive. This is the top secret big bang property right now. They are right to play their cards close to their chest.

What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
Blakstone replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think the game designers were wrong about Spooky Girl. More likely she represents a type of Japanesse ghost represented by her apparel and her ghostly white skin. While Anansi is called Aunt Nancy in the Carribean, he is both a black man and a spider. Neal Gaiman had some Anansi stories in American Gods and Anansi Boys. -

My guess is a harpy using the gargoyle's wings. -

Fred, I would drop the samurai armor and the trick or treat pail as those are just new prints, not now pieces. A satyr or a faun with the gargoyle head piece does make the most sense. In a bid to be different, my guess for Series 15 is a harpy using the new wings. -
Fantastic Beasts will introduce the world to a new generation of fans who never had a chance to collect the original LEGO sets. The media support would enable LEGO to bring back a beloved theme. The builds could be much the same; however with the advances in dual molded arms and legs the minifigures would be greatly updated.

Itaria has proven himself as a reliable source in prior years especially with CMF series. -
LEGO has a few movie tie-ins each year. It makes sense that they would want to tap into the Harry Potter universe with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This has proven a great success for them in the past. There may even be a few Harry Potter sets that come out before are after Fantastic Beasts similar to what LEGO did with Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. However, I doubt that the focus would be on Harry Potter as much as Fantastic Beasts.

This is what they are referring to. However, I doubt that LEGO pulled it earlier than intended. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/01/lego-jabbas-palace-racism_n_2993978.html -
What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
Blakstone replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think any CMF series needs to be balanced to draw in as many different types of collectors as possible. I am American but I know of Baba Yaga. While I am not "clamoring" to get her, I wasn't "clamoring" for a banshee either, but she is my favorite in the current series. If LEGO makes a great Baba Yaga, I think she would be useful in a wide range of MOCs. On the other point, I don't think there are any dead religions... just ones that are more rare than others. Whether LEGO would ever tackle any Hindu deities would depend both on how that faith would tolerate that and whether they felt it would impinge on their no religion rule. -
Lovely build. It really conveys the play. If you left it untitled, I still would have known of the scene. My favorite part of the build is how the rose vines climb from the wall to the balcony

How about renaming the thread "Castle 2016?!?!"

Kara, I am neopagan myself and was very pleased to get an official Athena in LEGO form. 8BrickMario, I don't consider Dracula as a mythological character. To me he is a literary character as Braum Stoker made so many changes to him. -

I was trying to stay away from Hindu deities because it is a major world religion. But I know people that worship Greek, Ancient Egyptian, and Norse deities as well. None of these religions are completely dead. They just lost prominence. Personally I would love Ganesha as well. -

As much as I would love a Greek mythology CMF series, I agree with Vorkosaigon that a mythology series should include other cultures to broaden its appeal. So in addition the Greek characters I would also add Anubis (Ancient Egyptian), Woden (Norse), Baldr (Norse), and Sun Wukong (Monkey King). -
I think if a LEGO RPG was a blind box that came with some Heroica dice and simple rules LEGO could do well in the miniatures RPG market,
