  1. Interesting looking shield. There is a tower outline around the sword. Still it looks to sci-fi for me to want to use in my MOCs.
  2. I can't see City as a themed CMF release but Winter Village would work great. There have been very limited torsos that work for that so far.
  3. I don't think there is enough interest for LEGO to do an expansive historically accurate theme. I think the closest we will get is a minifig or two in the CMF series. The pod wall around my desk at work is covered with historic minifigs. For Japan, there is samurai (both new and old versions), geisha, and sumo wrestlers. For the Celtics, there are a mass of Highland Battlers. For Egypt, I have the Pharaoh, Cleopatra, and the Egyptian warriors. For Roman, there are is Julius Caesar, Roman Centurions, Roman Commanders, and Gladiators. There is also a Hun army. I don't think we can hate on Nexo Knights for not being historic. We were never told they would be. But if there is anything useful for historic fans like you and me, we should appreciate those pieces. It might not be worth buying a single one of these sets. But I need to see them first to know.
  4. I think the Jestro is more likely to be a cyborg jester.
  5. I like the notion of Robin having a Robin Hood look to him. However, I worry there will be a translucent leg or metallic arm that will wreck its usability for me.
  6. The updates on those three characters are not enough to prompt to get them at full price. Dr Venkman has arm printing and shares a new hair piece. If there were significant updates to a Lord of the Rings minifig, I would get it. Sadly, they missed the opportunity to give Gandalf hair attached to his hat.
  7. Gotcha. I just assumed they were one and the same. Thanks.
  8. Do you mean a redesign or did you miss Series 5 Royal Guard?
  9. 1) Victorian lady 2) Polar Bear costume 3) Roman senator 4) Little girl with pigtails 5) Viking chieftan 6) Spaceman wielder 7) Pirate henchman 8) Architect 9) Inventor (Leonardo da Vinci) 10) Good Dwarf 11) New Ninja 12) Basketball Player 13) Ballerina 14) Forest Ranger 15) Historical Nurse (Florence Nightingale) 16) Mrs Claus
  10. So Dimensions has characters from the same theme being released in different waves. Dr Who characters are in waves 2 and 3. Back to the Future is in wave 1 and wave 3. Ghostbusters characters are in waves 3.4. and 5. It is still possible that wave 6 may have LotR characters. http://i.imgur.com/dHKprhP.png
  11. Sir Von Lego, have you seen any images? If so, any description would be helpful.
  12. Jestor sounds like the jokey one of the Nexo Knights. Frankly I hope they are not all knights. In Ninjago we had one samuri with the ninja... until recently. Perhaps one of the heroes will be an archer or something else.
  13. We now know that there will we robot horses as well as catapults, lava launchers, and disc launchers. The character names include Lance, Clay, Aaron, and Lavaria. I hope their is a better English name for the villain than Monster Master.
  14. I think the king, wizard, and possibly the princess head gear are likely. Although the princess one might go to a minidoll Princess. But don't forget the new shield with the Eqyptian warrior. Hopefully they will put some nice new heraldry on it. The goblin one was really made for the Juniors Green Goblin. Even if the new Big Bang has goblins, I doubt they will use it. I think think that the gargoyle us destined for a Midular building though.
  15. Meh. I rather have the Forest Ambush set than the offical battle packs. I hate the printing in 2013 Castle but the brick and the weapons still made it an good buy.
  16. The Big Bang books are scheduled to release in February. I imagine TLG will try to keep the lid on it for a couple more months yet. Us AFOLS are harsh critics and will bad mouth an entire line over one pixelated image. No wonder LEGO wants to manage what we get to see and when.
  17. LEGO posted the individual minifigures on their Facebook page. Isn't that officially revealing them? I am sure that White Fang has completed his review and is only wanting permission to post it.
  18. I believe that the blue is TLG's Total Revenue, not just their total revenue for licensed lines. Notice it extends before there were any licensed lines. Also note that Total Revenue does not indicate a profit. It is interesting data but LEGO almost went bankrupt during the early years of the Star Wars license but that chart would not tell you that. The only expense it shows is licensing.
  19. Interesting chart but it does not reveal new info specifically about the Middle Earth licenses. But does show info I was unaware of on total license cost for a year.
  20. Frodo does get pulled into a portal, but I don't know if that means that there will be a playable character for him. Of course, it would be good. They also keep showing Sauron. The more LOTR fun packs and sets the better. Hopefully they can squeeze in a new in demand character.
  21. I actually like it. It can make for a nice transformation. Besides the torso is a literal new print. The jeans are printed with pockets and a belt while the Series 1 skater did not have any leg printing. I still am not sure that I will buy a book just to get it though. Too bad he isn't in the Monsters series and the zombie Pirate Captain isn't included with the book.
  22. Mike, then break it down into smaller steps. You can just create a Facebook group to start some local conversation going. In time you might add some in person meetings. If you do that you might just jumpstart the inactive LUG or start a new one.
  23. Congrats on reaching 10,000 supporters! http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-ideas-lothlorien-achieves-10000-supporters/
  24. I generally avoid abbreviations but here are the definitions of what I found on this page. SDCC = San Diego Comic Con TBBT = The Big Bang Theory LOTR = Lord of the Rings MMV = Medieval Market Village D2C = Direct to Consumer (LEGO exclusives only available at The LEGO Store or Shop@Home.
  25. If I had to pick between a Dimensions pack with either the Witch-King (helmet) or a Gondor soldier, I would take the Witch-King. The fact that additional packs for established lines keep appearing does give me hope. We thought there was only one Dr Who and one Back to the Future in the beginning. Perhaps there will be a four Lord of the Rings pack.
