  1. Bugbot, everything appears to be micro builds. But it has to be a good sign that there are three fun packs dedicated to Lord of the RIngs as well as one of the characters in the Starter pack.
  2. I got some Viking torsos, printed armor, and samurai faces in the Build a Minifig bar. I could have picked up more Viking shields, but the printed armor was too good to pass up.
  3. For Tolkien fans like me, this is the only "new" minifigs we have to look forward to, but we will have to pay a premium for them. I also want a good Castle theme next year. I suspect that Dimensions might expand in 2016 to include the new Castle line. But if I wasn't get new, desired figures in the game expansions, I would just buy the sets.
  4. I don't know but I will probably buy all the Middle Earth ones to show support for continuing the line. EDIT: Gollum has mini Shelob. Gimli has an axe chariot. Legolas has an arrow launcher.
  5. Indeed it is another Gandalf with the same print. A nice homage but it is not a harbinger of more sets to come. EDIT: The Polygon article mentions expansion packs including a Lord of the Rings one with Gollum, Gimli, and Legolas. Still no new characters but the more Lord of the Rings that LEGO wants to make, the better.
  6. Since the four Middle Earth characters mentioned in the Polygon article are all from Lord of the Rings, can we have this discussion in the Future LotR Sets thread?
  7. While it appears that Gandalf and maybe some other Tolkien characters may appear in the toys-to-life game, I doubt there would be new versions or new characters. However, if they have to renew the license, perhaps it bodes well for D2C sets.
  8. Seeing how today's post has Wildstyle in it, this isn't a new Lord of the Rings item. I think it is the Toys-to-Life project.
  9. There is no guarantee but it is enough of a trend to make me worry. As long we get good prints (torso and shields) and some good parts, I will buy the sets regardless how good the builds are or what silly thing is built.
  10. Once you make 10 posts, you can do Private Messages. The Mods generally suggest you find a few more MOCs to comment on so you gain that ability.
  11. No. The review period is still going. You might want to heck the IDEAS site once a month on that. If it fails the review, we won't discuss this a lot. If it passes, this thread will explode.
  12. Supported and shared with my local LUG. Two days ago I opened my last Uruk Hai Army set. I needed some parts but built it first. It is such a great set. I really miss having the Lord of the Rings sets. Each part in there was something I wanted. The Hobbit ones had characters I didn't care about. Hopefully Ideas will show LEGO the desire is still there for LotR even on a limited capacity.
  13. Great MOC. I always appreciate the builds that highlight a specific culture or time. My favorite aspect is the pitchforks for oars.
  14. I am still beefing up my Egyptian and samurai armies. I thought I was done but then TRU started their 2 for $5 sale.
  15. Middle Earth is complete is almost. I got The Lonely Mountain for 20% off and double VIP Points at my local LEGO store. Recently I picked up a third copy of Witch-King Battle for 50%, Battle for Ninjago City for 50% off, and various 3x3 inverted dish Viking shields, and the Viking ship prow on Brickset too. Once I get the BluRay with the exclusive Bain minifig the collection is whole.
  16. I will pick up one Bartman for the new slingshot. Otherwise, there is nothing in this series for me.
  17. Are the CMF molds as durable as other LEGO molds? We see them to limited reuse, but can the new Egyptian Warrior shield really be used for every new shield going forward? I suspect it won't. Still you could get much more complex coat of arms on them. That would be appreciated.
  18. When this thread was necroed, I wasn't very interested. I think The LEGO Movie had very strong characters in both Emmet and Wildstyle. Both grew and involved throughout the film. So I agree that TLM2 should have other strong female characters, though I really want Lucy to return. I don't have a preference which existing, classic, or even video game minifig should be used in the new film. But I like the idea of female historic figures showing like like Abraham Lincoln, Shakespeare, and Michelangelo did in the first film. I would love if TLM2 gave us any of these in minifig form.
  19. I will probably just get the space starter for the female scientist torso and the computer monitor.
  20. It really depends on whether this is a January 2016 or Summer 2016 wave. From the rumors, I would guess it is January so we might have set descriptions by the fall.
  21. Mine showed up yesterday. They weren't in a chicken box this time but I had a chicken box last year so everything is good. I greatly appreciate the effort and time it took to run and distribute the Xmas Raffle. Thank you, CopMike.
  22. I didn't care for Castle 2013 so I bought those as parts packs. Kingdoms was different for me. I bought them for the minifigs and sometimes the builds. I still have the Medieval Market Village as well as the mill in the Mill Village Raid. My agree with the OP on Pirates. I think I will buy a couple small sets, the chess set, and supplement with Bricks and Pieces. I do army build out of CMF though not on the same scale as others. My pod at work has an array of CMF forces on top of the wall: Vikings, HIghland Battlers, Bag Pipers, Revolutionary Soldiers, Greek Mythology, Fantasy Castle (good), Fantasy Castle (Evil), Islanders, Aztecs, Egyptians, Japan, and Huns.
  23. An updated Vikings series would be my preference as well. But as long as they include a helmet that works for Norman / Vikings I will be very pleased. I hunted down a lot of the Vikings sets from eBay, but outside of the two CMF, I don't like the torso prints. I would also want a correct helmet style for them.
  24. It worked for me after clearing my cache. I am using Chrome. Yes, you can combine shipping costs with the regular Shop@LEGO.com. If you are in the US like me, there is a large delay between the regular shop and the Pick a Brick order. I assume Bricks and Pieces will come as slowly as Pick a Brick.
  25. I wonder if I am incompotent or if B&P doesn't work for Americians. I add all the desired pieces to the B&P cart. The prices look great. I click Check Out, click I agree, and then Go to Shop Checkout. Then I am dumped at Shoip@Home but the items are not in my shopping cart. I plan on buying the Pirates chess set and would like to supplement my Pirate collection with B&P. So far, though, I cannot tell if I am doing something wrong or if there is a country restriction.
