[CONTEST] Benny's Spaceships Building Academy
Commander Turtle replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I'm also a bit confused by why the palette needs to be different? The House Rescue Rocket has the same blue/yellow scheme. Or do you mean how the rockets on it are grey? (Because a lot more in that set is modified!) -
Future of AG - It's feedback time!
Commander Turtle replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
Those are some really excellent game-centric ideas. I hope that some of this can be incorporated; resource generators especially! -
That's nice, I see the Space Police influence for sure. It's got a very sleek look to it.

[MOC] Elven jetbikes
Commander Turtle replied to Marishka's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great models! I like how the bikes are themed, you don't need to see the characters to know who owns what. -

Brilliant job with your cars. I love the skates for door handles idea. -
[MOC] Millennium Falcon (40th Anniversary)
Commander Turtle replied to Khaled Yousef's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is seriously good. I only wish you'd taken some images with official-style lighting/setup and tricked a lot of people that this is what the new Falcon would be! Also, very impressed that you've spent so much effort making the underside look nice. -

I've heard this said before. Who are the reputable people? -
LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

Shame, really. One of these days, LEGO will indulge us. Making a new Falcon would be printing money, right? -
Any set with both types of greys can be a pain, as you're left comparing colours to work out which one is right. That's not too bad, though. If you really want to see bad instructions, try generating some from Lego Digital Designer! It's an absolute joke. You'd think they'd start roughly at the bottom and work up, maybe have some algorithm to do symmetrical things at the same time... Well, you'd be wrong! Any brick, anywhere, in an order that's almost impossible to put together.

Lego themes that we would like to happen
Commander Turtle replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Two things I'd like to see. One is a civilian future theme - flying cars, space tourism etc. The second is an adults-oriented line of some sort that would let them do sets like the original Shaun of the Dead set from early in Lego Cuusoo/Ideas, or Firefly, etc. Just an acknowledgement that we're out there and we have money!- 451 replies

Phew, a lot of work into a short video - had to learn a couple new tools to get it presentable. -

Questions for Creator Expert designers
Commander Turtle replied to Jim's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I actually know the answer for this one - it predates their use in Creator Expert! The VW van from the same period also doesn't use numbered bags. I would love to know if there's any interest in doing more Creator Expert trains. To this day, my favourite set ever is the Emerald Night. Is there any internal support of doing back-of-the-box/instructions alternate builds, like in the 90s? Given that the theme of The LEGO Movie was about using your own imagination, and I clearly remember as a kid that these inspirations were one of the main reasons I broke down all my sets and began building MOCs. Finally, how much do adult interests impact what come out in Creator Expert versus how much it's geared to teens? -
AG - Introduction and Discussion
Commander Turtle replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
I've still got all my dark red and bley pieces in a special organiser. By summer I think it'll be about time to get back into that spaceship... -

Thanks a lot to you both! Yeah, I'd like to get on top of the EB contests/events. The SoNE announcement on the front page was put up after I'd done the filming for this. I'm out of the loop with Brethren of the Brick Seas - what's new there? I'll go have a read! -
Hey all. I'm trying out a video series I'm calling The Week In Bricks, and the idea is to cover the week's reveals, store events, active contests, and do a featured MOC too. Update: Latest episode Prev episodes: April 24-30th - Ideas Apollo Saturn rocket, Grand Carousel May 1st-7th - Create the World and commentary on Lego Dimensions May 8th-14th - UCS Millennium Falcon rumour discussion May 15th-21st - Renewable energy goal met early & ramifications It was inspired because I've found it to be a grind getting info about current Lego goings-on - lots of places only cover the big releases, but the sites that cover everything release so much that it's difficult to follow. I thought there might be a niche for something that blasts through the week's news, with links in the description to follow up on if anything catches your attention. I'd be thrilled to hear feedback and get an idea what the community would want from this sort of show

That in particular makes it so much clearer! Well done again.

This is a really awesome build - there's so many clever ideas, right down to the shark above the TV. But I don't think I really 'get' it? Why are there zombies walking around/being experimented on while some of the humans seem to not notice? Why is there a torture chair and a prison? Like I said, amazing build technically. I want to understand the story, too.

It was over. With a screech, we managed to stop the car going into the hole where the bridge used to be. There was no way of escaping, now. Karen jumped out of the car, saying, "there's no use sitting there!" I got out, and looked over the water - but there was nowhere to swim to without zombies. The helicopters had dropped supplies and flyers on getting to safety, but with no bridge and no car we weren't ever getting there. The groan got louder, as more zombies joined the horde before us. "I'm not going down without a fight," said Karen, and in that moment I loved her more than ever. I pulled the shovel out of the car, and braced myself. (Contest pic) Hey everyone, had a lot of fun making this. I have a silly number of zombies from another project - the board game Dead of Winter with Lego minifigs instead of standees. That made this contest a no-brainer, so I tried to make a 'classic' zombie scene where the "horde" aspect is in full force. That's how I came up with the broken bridge and the no-hope story. Also, I'm just really pleased with how the 4X4 came out. Full overview: Scene is 48x40.
