As a Paladin, I agree it's a nicely balanced class. It's got a good shield, no need to boost it. Agree that necromancer is good as is. It burns ether in a good way and at a good pace. Still think a cost per target change would be strongest for Minstrel.

I never feel ice about first day lynches - I feel they're a necessary evil, but even so. I understand that Walter could be saving his skin with being noble about revealing his role and then recommending himself for a lynch - the role could indeed be abused. I do get a little tingle in the same way Shadows got about Tammo - this seems like a good play if he's scum. And the role, now revealed, will most likely not be stolen by scum, so leaving it in play will allow the town to use it (surely, at least, anyone who pounces on it will be under heavy scrutiny). I will for the time being place my vote for the only person today who has only spoken up once. Vote: Storm (DarkDragon) Surely you have more than that to offer us? And I understand the complaint against voting for people due to inactivity. I don't think it's the best strategy by any stretch, and as soon as we have some sort of results to piece together, I would never advocate it. Day One is always a different story, though. We have nothing to go on - even costume selection no one can yet be strategizing about.

As he dies he thinks back on his life, his choices - how his father left the home when he was only twelve years old, how his mother became an expert hunter so that she could provide for him, and how she had sent him over seas five years later to the beautiful city of Eubric. Once there he had been shocked by the poverty and even by the Orcish slavery. There was so much darkness in the world. He took up to helping at soup kitchens, though he himself was only struggling by. Once there he met a young Paladin, a beautiful woman who taught him both about love and Ennoc. They married at twenty, surrounded by fellow soup kitchen volunteers. He mined the Paladin Order later that year. She bore him one child, who even now was nestled away safely in Eubric somewhere. Colt hoped that he would grow into a strong and noble man, one who perhaps did not take the path of his father, who found service some other way. Colt's belif in Ennoc led him to do some research on the Order Imperial. It was scorned by his friends, but he saw merit in what they stood for. A strong united nation of the world under a God of Justice. Wasn't that what Ennoc stood for? Wasn't that what Ennon had once stood for? When Orcs invaded the High Kingdoms, Augustus had not looked after only his own people, but had rushed to the north to try to protect all citizens of the area. He knew that all humans were children of Ennoc. And even the Orcs, perhaps, could be taught Ennoc's way. It would be difficult, but surely he could do it. Eventually a recruiter approached him. Stephen Colt joined up enthusiastically. Taking the noble path, he openly rejected the Paladin Order, refusing the recruiter's request that he serve as a spy. His wife was furious with him, but she understood his integrity. Serving in Eubric was alright. There was an occasional policy or two that he disagreed with, but the Order Imperial served the city - of this he was sure. He worked on numerous excavation sites, learning about the past - what evils were locked there. So many forgotten evils. If they did not serve as guardians against them, who would. He quickly rose through the ranks - he was well-liked by many, and gifted with a sword. More than anything, however, he was notable for defending his allies in combat, even though he had no angel of his own. He used his own body, shield, and skill. Eventually news came that he would have to serve in the north. Only for a year, of course, but he still wept as he kissed his wife and daughter good bye. Once under service of Bella, he was shocked at her ruthless behavior. He had grown accustom to the Order's stance on Orcs - his own opinions he kept private, hoping for a brighter future when he could more openly share them - but she sent the Never Blessed (a horrifying man) to raid nearby villages. This is not what he thought the Order stood for. But he had only a year here, so he kept his head low. When intruders burst into the war room eight months into his service, he had no choice but to fight. He may not agree with Bella, but she was his commander. And Oko - they had known each other in Eubric. The were-lion wanted a better future. Surely he, at least, should survive. "Urk-" says Colt as Yu Shu rips through his armor, ribs, and heart. He dies instantly. Avery and Pretzel double team Oko, who is barely able to defend himself. Yu Shu's angel descends, and the battle continues! Those are all good points, but I still think it's best for the town if it's in the open. The scum would be bound to find it soon enough - they just have more searching power than we do. The town would be in the dark then, and they could pass it around for a couple of days pretty safely. And even if it is blocked, if we have a watcher action we could find out WHO was blocking it. It's really best to have it in the open. Thank you! Absolutely agree. On top of that, it'd be good to have the results of the night in before we start to think about who we can trust and who we can't.

The first point isn't really a danger if we affectively vote off two people (aka lynch someone and pick someone else for the night kill). Even if the scum get the costume, they'd still have to follow through with the plan or everyone would know the next morning. The second point is worth considering. We can absolutely protect it for a long time... It really boils down to this: the scum will know where it is in a few days if it's still in play at that time. I think that it would be best if we put it out in the open so that they can't possibly mis-use it in that time.

Absolutely agree. This seems like it will be a confusing game regardless - nights will be difficult to untangle with so many actions flying around. The scum will have a leg up on figuring things out, so we have to combat it. I agree. Pelly would never run things that way. I think there is most likely a kill costume. It seems like there are exclusively vanillas on the side of the town... but looking back maybe I am reading that wrong? I assumed the "all of you are vanilla except the ones who aren't" to refer to the scum/third-party, but maybe the town has power roles? I highly doubt it, though, in which case I think there must be a kill costume. Is it mandatory? Absolutely agreed that the kill costume, if there is one, should be revealed. Maybe we could always just have whoever has it kill the person who gets the second most votes? The only danger would be the scum trying to knock it out during the night, but we could potentially safe guard against that - the scum will learn what the pills are faster, but we have more people to lock them down with.

The more quests you read, the better you can steal from other people. I've featured lots of other people's ideas in my quests: Cold Circles (Pie's), Order Imperial (Kinto's), Red Assassins (Brickdoctor's). It's not easy, but we do it a lot still. I'd be interested in helping with Vartland. I want to do a Saga that's more than three quests at some point. I also have an idea for a "Eubric Saga" but haven't really formulated it totally yet.
