  1. Only sort of. I have a sick satisfaction to see the story continued in an exciting manner. Breaking the power balance would twist the game in a hugely new direction. Add to that Umbra's skills. Most of the houses can defend themselves. In a showdown... I think the Hinckwells might be the only one with no obvious combatants. 53 would have been his real death. This was more anyone who followed the cat. I do have a love for realistic, well placed deaths. Watch the Departed some time. The deaths in that movie are great and so sudden. I hope this doesn't interfere with your campaign for King. Just so you know, that conversation you, Nerwen and Boomers had over Kings, powers and the Gods has been playing through Boomingham's head all dinner . It's an important informative talk, and certainly has an effect on how he assesses the houses now. We've actually had this discussion before. That would be an interesting story to tell, actually: how the current veterans became veterans, and what they did before hand... and particularly how they interact. They must have very complex relationships if our heroes are anything to judge hero friendship by. Also, class doesn't matter, they're all different classes. It's interesting that we'll probably have the same class at some point. It could be some more interesting role play. I lobbied for friendship then!! Reread it, I didn't want to attack Umbra, and I think she offered reputation! Also interested to see what people think of Ella in the end of 59. Thanks for including her, JimBee!
  2. I'm hoping for deaths in more than one house. Another thing I'd do if I were writing this as a novel, and not as a RPG - Arthur would have just been killed. As soon as he sent those letters off. Captain Patricia MUST be awesome. I have no doubt. But she's outside, not in the room.
  3. Hey, you need U'Or! And I've already said that my only real goal this quest is to protect Mumbassa. Though I'm really hoping that we lose a number of IMPORTANT people this quest. I'm ready for the plot to get to the next step. Killing off members of the houses = favorite story moments. Stories need turning points. Those would push the story to the next level. Well I recognized them as separate entities, Boomingham didn't. I read all the Sandy quests.
  4. Boomingham is having an interesting time. He doesn't really know the major houses as well as I thought he did, he's barely interacted with them at all in his time in Heroica, though I've always imagined that they're pretty important to him. I think he would have done at least a little research on them, so I've been playing a little fast and loose with in and out of character knowledge. Trying to be careful though. What's really going on for me is that he's now stopped viewing the Houses as "The Houses" and is beginning to view them as individuals. It's interesting, but also very hard to play because I generally try to not write his thoughts, only his actions and text. I think I know which houses he'd back if anything happened though.
  5. Boomingham gives a sly smile to Umbra. "You would prefer war between the families rather than peace?" Boomingham smiles too at the father. "Intelligence and ambition are two traits that I have an easy time respecting. You and Mr. Hinckwell made a good choice in joining your families. I am glad that it was done for love, as well." Boomingham gives a critical look to Bellanotte. "I am married as well, my dearest. From a very young age, and in an arranged situation. It is not an easy path, but it is worth it. Love has the power to change you for the better, even if it is painful. I wish you and your future husband the best." Boomingham glances up at Nyx on the stage. "Do not forget that there is more than one type of love, either, mademoiselle. You and your future husband are very important to the future of Eubric. Do not fall out of love."
  6. And I don't know where JimBee is, but I know there's at least one small event left in Dastan. That quest seems to have stopped chugging for some reason.
  7. Especially with these longer battles now. The chances of eventually rolling a four is pretty high. I'm sorry if you don't want to write dialogue for every single house leader, Sandy, but I assume that's what we're supposed to do right now, right? He's certainly forming opinions about the Houses that he's defended thus far.
  8. Boomingham wipes his face off. "I didn't throw the pie," he argues before handing the cloth back. He makes his way back over to the Shadeaux table and addresses the deathly looking patriarch of the family. "Congratulations on your daughter's betrothal. You must be very pleased. It is always smart to solidify power. I am interested how you and the head of the Hinckwells managed to come up with this match. I've heard on the streets that the two of you have been at odds in the past."
  9. "I'm afraid I won't be joining you on stage, dear," Boomingham calls up to Nyx. The Paladin walks towards the golum. "Is there anywhere that I can wash up a bit?"
  10. It's only 50% with your staff, not in general.
  11. Boomingham uses a finger to direct some of the cream into his mouth, tasting for poison. He then whips his face with the kerchief. "Thank you for including me, my dear." Boomingham takes a bow and tries to whip his face a little more. "I'm not sure they'd welcome me into the kitchen to wash up, so apparently this is my make-up for the evening."
  12. Boomingham raises an eyebrow at the angry woman. He walks away a little sullenly. "Why come to a party if you don't plan to socialize," he grumbles. He smiles slightly upon seeing Nyx's inclusion in the act. He wanders over towards her and offers her his handkerchief to whip the cream from her face. "Always a crowd pleaser, aren't you my dear?"
  13. Sign Ups for Quest 68 Tesni Hightribe, Level 29 2/3 Beserker Alexandre the Chevalier, Level 21 Black Knight Johon, Level 23 2/3 Raider Sylph, Level 22 2/3 Druid Ellaria, Level 21 1/3 Druid
  14. "I couldn't agree more, Dr. Cula. This marriage is indeed a step in the right direction. The strong strengthening their position proves that they still have the right to hold onto it." Boomingham bows again to the Doctor. "I am certainly interested to see what direction your little crusade goes in. I do not trust the undead, but should they prove their value, I would not be one to argue." "They won't," quips Barty as the duo walks away from the table. "I doubt it as well," Boomingham murmurs. "But its possible." "They are built wrong. How many times must I remind you, you mortals are too small to change." "Just lots of tiny redirections, I know." Boomingham finds himself finally standing next to Nemo and Hestia Bonaparte. "What do you think of the jesters, mi'lady and lord? Not so much my taste, but what do I know. Lord Lawrence Boomingham, King of the Lost Kingdom, Slayer of the Bluehood, by the way. How do you do?"
  15. Wish I could be there! I want to be on a CMP quest one day!
  16. I love white and orange color scheme, and this ship with its five fins has GREAT shape. It really has a good feel to it, and seems to have a specific style. The end of the nose could use more detail - it is flat AND studdy, doesn't fit in with the beautiful sleekness of the rest of the ship. The first pair of sider wings (the white pair) could use a better ending in my opinion, they get very flat. Also, while I love the engines on their underside, they start abruptly. Ending with the propulsion part free makes sense, but closer to the body you should bulk up the wing, so that the engine doesn't begin AND end abruptly. Great work over all, and superb shape.
  17. Those colors are superb. I love the sectioning of it - those long flat gray bits along with the curved sleek yellow and red is just great! Interesting cockpit design as well, and the engines look lovely. Fantastic work, don't know what else you're going to do with it, but excited to see. I like the red vent as well, very clever parts use and great look.
  18. Switching artifacts actually does cost a turn, switching weapons does not...
  19. "It is my personal belief that everyone should have the opportunity to affect this world we live in. I must admit that I have yet to meet any of your kind, barring yourself, who I believe would have a good impact on the city, however." "That is because they are the spawn of evil, Lawrence. You want a good legacy, you must let Steerpike strike this monster down, as you struck the bloodsuckers down in the alley way." "It seems to me that more often than not your kind robs others of opportunity." Boomingham sucks on his upper lip. "I respect you and your guild, however. It is impressive that you grew strong with the city, and clearly you deserve your place at the very least, Doctor." Boomingham, while staying at the table, waves over Nyx. "Are you not enjoying the party, dear? Why don't you socialize? The only way to have any affluence in a city such as this is to have friends in high places. This is your opportunity. These people have proven their worth, they are the best of the best, they are the history makers. These are the people who may immortalize you."
  20. Someone already suggested something similar to that to me, actually. Docken, I feel I have to tell you that three people have PM'd me with suggestions on how to overcome your armor. They don't all fit in to this quest, but I've heard that you may be in for Guffington III as well.
  21. Oh just you wait.
  22. Would have loved an explanation (or, a line or two, maybe) from Marc the Mad, but it was a choice to not give him one, and I'll respect it. The appearance of Altiar too... seemed strange, but I guess you wanted to offer a reputation choice? I also don't understand why you needed four alchemists. Couldn't they have just protected one? Why did it have to be those three targets? I would have loved to see more (or anything) out of them and John. Maybe its just me, but if you fill what could be one person's role with three people, they should be an interesting three people - or, just make it one if there's no reason for their to be three. The battles seemed easier, but as others have said, you had Ellaria, Guts and Atramor. That's tough to balance for. I also know you didn't think you'd have four alchemists, but clearly that made them much easier. Great pictures, nice length, as I said, not challenging battles, but certainly interesting ones. Nice amount of loot in comparison to quest length/challenge (see how little I give out that note!). Good job over all, develop those NPCs more next time, and I'm sure we'd love to see more out of you!!
  23. Ah, I see, the rod. I forgot how much Zoot paraphernalia Hybros is lugging around.
  24. Zoot weapons are soul-bound, sorry CMP.
