  1. Do the helmets go on over the hair, or does one take the hair off ala minifig?
  2. One day, finances allowing, I would enjoy attempting to build a life size, motorized, rideable, technic motorcycle.
  3. UPDATE: Fuel tank Tail unit Rear calliper moved up, so you can see it
  4. It has two output axle holes, different gearing. I think the outermost one is higher speed?
  5. I hear that is all the sttering rotation they have. They are designed to work with a steering box that converts the rotation to a steering rack. Out of curiosity, how many steering positions does it have?
  6. For sale, my unwanted orange parts, from a couple of Creator "Street Rebel" motorcycles I bought ages ago. Completely unused, smoke free, low km's etc etc. May suit train builder? Pardon the phone photo.
  7. Update: Cantelever rear suspension mounted under engine Subframe and seat Rearsets (footpegs), gearshift and rear brake pedals. Had to move clutch forward. Exhausts, 4 into 4, side and undertail outlets Side stand Octan colours
  8. Ah. I'll stick to the motorcycles then I guess that is because there is no oil shock absorber inside the spring...
  9. I design my models in Lego Digital Designer, (google it) because it saves the pieces from being put together and pulled apart over and over, which wears them out. Once I have designed a model, I order the parts from Bricklink.com
  10. Installing softer springs would lower the truck, at the expense of suspension travel, obviously. The shock absorbers on the 9398 are extra hard, the same shock absorbers can be had in both medium and soft, too.
  11. Wow, this is awesome! Nice colour scheme New motors, I wonder if they are upgraded in any way? A question for all eagle eyes: Do you think the panels and other "white" parts are true white, or "very light bluish grey/light stone grey"? There seems to be a difference in the tone of the NXT motors next to the panels, esp. in the last photo.
  12. I actualy think transparent blocks look good with a solid cylinder head, and only on one side of the engine, sort of like a cut-away diagram. Lego realism can be expensive
  13. hahaha, touche Ok, but I think if you want realism you should put a cylinder head on lego piston motors. It is a challenge to make a lego model look real, so people say, "Wow, is that Lego?"
  14. That's awesome! I hope I may work for lego one day. It will be great if they can afford some new tyres in the future. For now the 8420 tyres will have to do
  15. Have you ever seen a real engine? One cannot watch the pistons go up and down. The "cover" on the engine is the cylinder head.
  16. I really like the look of the new dIrt bike. Very well designed. Strange engine choice, but we'll just imagine it's a two-stroke twin It's good to see any technic bike these days. There isn't many high performance vehicles anymore. I think it's a case of the consumer defining the product. Construction equipment is much more popular here than anything else.
  17. Haha I didn't really think of the Desmosidici as I made it, but now I compare them I might as well have set out to make one The influence the subconcious has on the imagination is powerfull I will be using many system parts, like the front mudguard, and I will use technic panels too. I don't want studs showing though. Thanks Sadly the parts I use for forks and calipers don't come in gold.
  18. Have got this much designed after a few days....
  19. I hope you succeed! I know very little about helicopter physics so I have no idea if it is possible. I'm still working on RC motorcycle designs, and nobody thinks that's possible, so keep at it
  20. Not if two rechargable battery boxes are used! Combined, they would weigh less than one AA battery box full of AA's. Not quite twice the power, but 14.4V is still plenty I'll be spending a bit of money on lego in 2013... EDIT: Welcome Boxerlego, and thank you for bringing useful knowledge to the forums
  21. Thank you, I'm glad there is some support out there I've seen a few reviews of Technic 8051 that were a bit dissapointed by the back tyre being the same width as the front. I have put the wide rear tyre from Technic 8420 on an 8051 rim, it looks great, but I think a proper one for these rims is in order.
  22. That's bad to the bone. Clever setup! 400rpm or so from an XL motor! I am the lone soul trying to make a Lego RC bike, and I love the possibility of more POWER I have a few questions: Would this be safer for the motors using rechargable batteries, making 14V-15V? Have you noticed any damage or burning at 18V? Can any more motors be added to the un-used ports on the IR reciever, say, a PF servo motor?
  23. Part name: Superbike rear tyre for Technic 8051 rim Description: I propose a new generation of wide rear tyre, in the vain of 8420, with a more realistic high profile and deep curvature, resulting in a slightly larger overall diameter than the front tyre, as per a real superbike. 5 units wide would not look out of place on the existing 8051 rim, which is still in use as of 2013 set Motorcross bike. Usage: I believe wide rear tyres on motorcycles are visualy engaging even to non motorcyclist lego fans and builders, as they make a static motorcycle appear dynamic, giving a deep sense of direction and purpose. In the hopes that T.L.G. have read this, Sincerely, Kieran Chamberlain
  24. Cool! Sadly I missed the boat. nearly $60 Aud for one on ebay... Then perhaps James May. He dis build a lego house after all, and seems to love lego!
  25. Thanks guys Added to my bricklink wanted list.
