  1. Well, these are preliminary, so they might change. I like the fact that it appears that both the good guys and the bad guys are people (the King's Castle set seems to come with at least one evil knight). Some of the past few castle themes were more fantasy oriented (one had trolls and one had skeletons, if I remember correctly). Having missed out on previous LEGO castle themes, I am very excited to see the new castle sets.
  2. Wow, that figure is ugly. (the one that charlieboy posted)
  3. I like all of the minifigures in this set. I particularly like Harley Quinn and how they have her in her regular psychiatrist look as well as her clown look. The Robin with the hood also looks good. One minor point is that it would have been better if they had included a cloth cape for Batman so he could use the cape or the glider depending on the situation and the scene.
  4. Would be interesting to see what scale LEGO makes the Mumakil (i'm assuming this is the elephant thing) in. The elephants looked amazing in the Jackson movie.
  5. Any chance we will get another castle-like set similar to Helm's Deep?
  6. Looks awesome! Where did you get the bricks? Did you just do pick a brick or were there certain sets that yielded more useful bricks for building a castle?
  7. I agree with the comparison to the Evil Knight. Compared with what you get in a CMF pack (a single minifigure and a couple tools at best, and you might not even get the minifigure you want), these polybags could be an excellent deal for some.
  8. Does any of you know where I can buy this set at MSRP?
  9. I don't know much about LotR, but is there any chance we will see Minas Tirith (or whatever the castle that Denethor II ruled in was called)? I saw Return of the King years ago and found that particular building rather interesting. It's pretty much the same at my nearby Target, though there were quite a few Riddles for the Ring sets left and hardly any of the others (I think I saw absolutely no cave troll sets).
  10. I concur. I think that for the most part, the TMNT figures are awesome but most of the vehicles are rather lacking. Also, the prices are too high. For example, I think that Wolverine's Chopper Showdown (around 200 pieces, includes a good helicopter and 3 unique figures) is better than the Shredder Bike (around 200 pieces, includes a mediocre bike, a rather awful skateboard and 2 unique figures - the foot soldier is available in other sets and does not count). The figures are good, but I don't think the figures alone justify the higher prices.
  11. Set arrived today. What are some sets that go well with MMV? This could include Castle-related sets and others (I might just include the MMV buildings in a more general town setting, haven't decided yet.)
  12. I think the Cavalry set looks pretty good for the cost. It's like one of those Star Wars battle packs. Edit: Funny thing though is that the Lone Ranger, not the Cavalrymen, have the horse. Edit: 100 posts!
  13. Awesome!
  14. Just picked one up yesterday. Looking forward to building it.
  15. What struck me most about it is its versatility in terms of its use in different themes. It could be used in at least the following themes: Castle/Kingdoms City Pirates LotR It could also be used with some superheroes figures. e.g. Not implausible for Magneto, who's from Central Europe, to show up in a medieval looking village in Europe somewhere.
  16. I think it's cool that they use authentic Asian characters on these items. (I say Asian because some of the characters here are both used in Chinese and Japanese. I think it's because the Japanese imported some Chinese characters into their written language (kanji). The Japanese also have some unique characters (hirigana?).)
  17. How often does Lego Shop Online offer free shipping? I just missed the December 18 deadline for free shipping and I was wondering when the next free shipping time would be.
  18. For those of you who have this set, what is your impression of it? What do you like or not like about it? Do you think it is a good value for $100?
  19. Is the Turtle Lair an exclusive? I ask because Amazon has all of the sets (including Baxter's Robot) but not the Lair. I find that rather strange. Edit: Strange enough, TRU's website doesn't have it either.
  20. I think there are some issues at the retail level too. I have seen licensed sets (Star Wars, Marvel) being sold at local drugstores at significantly higher prices than the MSRP. However, most regular sets (e.g. Ninjago) seem to be priced close to or at MSRP.
  21. What does Shredder look like without the mask?
