  1. Yeah Superman is hard to "build" for. But they seem to be missing some obvious things... Daily Planet set? Seems obvious. Military Jets, Helicopters, not just a car? (they seem to be in the movie) with Military minifigures? (okay so Lego doesn't seem to like doing traditional militarys) They don't ever seem to TRY on the Licensed builds much. I wish the builds were more often like cool city builds.
  2. What program do people use when they make the CGI mocks like this?
  3. Even if it's made well I'm getting kind of sick of the gameplay. Arkham City was Arkham Asylum with a slightly more open map. I'd like to see some bigger changes. Or something more... epic? Idunno maybe actually like have GOTHAM explorable. Have the Batmobile, Batwing, etc all playable.
  4. How does that even work? Where's the story about it?
  5. Practically all of my life. When I was a kid I really liked Legos but my parents were poor and my first choice right in front of Lego sets was video games. So I didn't get much. Then I got older and randomly spent a lot of $$$ on Castle sets after I got nostalgic and recovered my old (now 75% missing) collection. From then it was on an off. Every other year or more I'd buy a lot of sets then stop. Right now I find myself with a lot more money than I've ever had. I can afford them. But at the same time money seems to stress me because I feel like I'm using it bad. :P
  6. It's a decent movie. I bought it with the minifigure. It had a few problems going for it though. First off, it was NEVER going to be as good as LotRs. The story just naturally isn't as good, isn't as epic, isn't as movie-worthy. It also has an absurd amount of characters most of which get almost no development. A few of the Dwarfs had like two lines. Besides Bilbo and a few of the Dwarves and Gandalf nobody gets enough screentime. You don't get attached. Most people still don't even KNOW all the dwarf's names. I've watched it 3 times now and I barely know ANY of the Dwarfs names because there's too many of them and they annoyingly tend to rhyme. As for the length being extended to 3 movies... I don't really care. Some of the bonus scenes taken from other sources are fine. But it is stretch. And no matter how much they stretch it most characters won't develop. Unlike with LotRs where everyone was unique and you could remember most of their names you CANNOT do that here. Lastly, the stupid CGI and ridiculous battles. There's no reason for so much CGI! Stop making it look like a cartoon... There's no reason the Pale Orc needs to be CGI. Toooo much! Also some elements in the battles are ridiculous. Like when their wooden platform fell and they conveniently landed safely against all odds. If I wanted JarJar style luck and coincidences I'd watch Star Wars Episode I... Still it's a good movie. But no, it had no chance of being AS good. And there were some mistakes for sure.
  7. Where's my nazghoul or whatever the crap those flying things are called?
  8. If the movie is good I'll have no choice but to get all the sets despite the fact that the builds kind of suck.
  9. I've got to say, those minifigure "tools" that are just printing on flat bricks are really, really lame. The stopwatch. The slingshot. Just terrible. It's too bad because the rest looks great.
  10. That's a nice looking train. Sadly for some reason I have an irrational hate of trains. I don't know why.
  11. I got the A-Wing and I really like it. I wan the X-Wing and Y-Wing now... Really wish there was a minifigure scale B-Wing coming out soon. And also that huge Falcon...
  12. Castle used to be my number one Lego theme. I'd get almost nothing but Castle. However... I haven't liked the direction it's been going since after Fantasy. Fantasy I liked. Had those troll d00ds and stuff. The colors were great, the theme was great. All was great. Since then it's like they've turned it more and more kiddie. The colors have been getting worse, more bright and ridiculous. No more Dwarves or anything cool (though LotRs being out probably won't let them do much there). Basically, Castle currently sucks. No awesome things like Forestmen. Crap colors. Crap all around. Yes opinion. I don't care. It went from #1 to not even buying a single set. This next wave won't change that. The LotRs and Hobbit sets are superior in every way, might as well get them.
  13. Well it doesn't sound good. There are a lot of reports from places like TheForce.net that say they're downsizing the LucasArts animation department. They're supposedly completely stopping work on Clone Wars. It's obvious they intended for there to be more seasons (at LEAST 1) because they had started making episodes for season 6. The other bad news is they seem to have absolutely no intention of addressing literally ANYTHING that the episodes don't answer. Basically we might get some seasons 6 episodes as standalones but only what they've already done. And they're even considering not releasing everything they've done (for whatever reason, maybe it's half done). So if the episodes don't give answers about Asoka, Maul, Bane, etc we're out of luck. It sounds like they were only like halfway done when Disney stopped everything with the motivation of ignoring prequel tied things (since they're hated by so many) and focusing 100% on the new movies and spinoffs. Now, I'm not really a fan of the prequels. And a LOT of the Clone Wars episodes were just bad. But this still pisses me off because some were good and just abandoning it after the buyout shows no care for the fans. Absolutely none. Disney is all about $$$. They don't see a future or as much money in the prequel tied things so they're simply ditching them and refocusing on the new Trilogy and spinoffs like Yoda.
  14. lol... Every brand will have issues. But Nintendo by far is statistically the safest bet if you're talking about stability. Yes, some people will be unlucky. But seriously, there's absolutely no comparison when it comes to glitches, breaking or bricking consoles. Xbox 360 had a 27% failure rate. Over 1/4th of the consoles that were bought have DIED. That's TERRIBLE! Towards the beginning of it's lifespan it was actually OVER 50%! But they got better at making them not fail but still.... it's bad. Sony is next. They have about a 10% failure rate. It was higher at first but has gotten better (as this is how it works for ALL of them). Nintendo is the best every generation. It's got like a 2.5% failure rate (Wii, not WiiU). So really, seriously... NO. Statistically, ignoring the games and personal tastes, Nintendo is leagues and bounds more "safe" from faulty individual consoles. WiiU is about the same most likely as the Wii. There was a problem though if you turned off a WiiU during an update (even though it clearly says NOT TO just like any computer would) you'd brick it. A lot of people did this. But honestly, I blame them... when it says don't turn off the console DO NOT TURN IT OFF! ;p
  15. No, it's really not. A lot of it is written as if by a 5th grader. So much of it is terrible. Some is good. Most is bad. Most is the kind of writing only a Star Wars fan could find appealing. I look to stories that are more than a franchise. Most of the EU is nothing but stories depending on franchise. There is soooo much crap in there. Most of it is obviously written for fans and nobody else because nobody else in their right mind would like most of those stories. A good story can stand on it's own. 90% of EU doesn't have a leg to stand on. I'm probably being too generous too as it's probably closer to 99% :P. To be fair though half the movies don't have a leg to stand on either. Lets remake the prequels and pretend they never existed lol.
  16. I really don't care about EU. I don't mind at all when they ignore EU for canon. For example, I hope Chewie is alive in the new movie. Screw EU. 90% of it is terrible and they shouldn't feel held down by the terribleness.
  17. I think it's ridiculous they haven't updated Chewie. His face is probably the last unpainted thing, his eyes soulless. His crossbow is still literally just a medieval crossbow complete with arrow.
  18. He's generic enough like the main villains in 1 and 2 :P.
  19. It's weird how they don't have an updated version of Biggs or Wedge but have Porkins. Pooorkiiins!
  20. The Iron Man and War Machine are cool. Everything else is useless. A random green boat with no meaning or iconic status and another generic minion that can't fit anything else (I'd compare him to those Captain American minions).
  21. JPIV is my only hope at getting those Lego dinos that I really wanted but couldn't justify getting... if Lego gets the franchise.
  22. On another note... why do Jedi seem to suck at melee combat when they don't have a lightsaber? Heck, how do some people stand up to a Jedi at all in melee combat? They have the foresight and reflexes to block blaster bolts but they can't seem to see when punches are coming. I would figure, logically, even without a lightsaber they could own relatively large forces. Bounty hunters seem to commonly be able to, at least temporarily, go toe to to with a Jedi in melee combat, sometimes beating them. What the crap makes shooting bolts so different that they can foresee them but not a slow fist? :P But that's trying to make sense of a fictional thing.
  23. I agree they're better than most action movies in Hollywood. They ARE good. Just not great. As for Batman. I agree they're not THAT Batman but I had no problems simply thinking of it as it's own Batman, which it is. The only issue I have with the normal Bat family is the ridiculous amount of Robins which are for the most part physically almost entirely alike. :P Lastly Thor. I thought it was the weakest. I mean, the love interest literally came out of nowhere and was basically a gal who say a d00d with his shirt off and fall in love. Thor's evolution from jerk to worthy d00d wasn't written that well and kind of just happened, quickly and without much development. But I just kind of expected better. They're for the most part just above average.
  24. I don't think there's much of a chance Episode VII actually hits the 2015 release date. 2016 maybe. 2017 probably. UNLESS they rush. I hope they don't rush. Quality takes time. Though some of the original actors may be dead by then. :)
