  1. I'm surprised by the severity of criticism as I was immediately pleased seeing the pictures for the first time earlier this week. I especially like the design around the roof sections, the Octan branding & retro-styled colors for the garage section, and the truck looks very nice. I was wondering if my opinion was due to a LEGO brand / Modular Buildings halo effect or bias. But I've taken a look at a lot of different reviews and pictures this week and still feel that it's a solid Modular based on the overall aesthetic, building technique, layout, size, and scenes within. Plus, it's not like there aren't other Modular sets that I don't like very much (10190 : Market-Street and 10232 : Palace-Cinema). In fact, I only really have two issues with the model itself: I think the gaps between the wall sections are fine but I wish there weren't dark and medium stone grey parts among the dark orange within those gaps. And even that is a minor gripe since the LEGO group obviously can't make every part in every color. I don't like the tree at all. Then again, I've never found the trees in the modular sets to be particularly nice, especially the tree in 10251 : Brick-Bank. A couple of things I'm indifferent about are the choice of minifigures. None of them seem outstanding but I'm not interested in these sort of sets for the minifigure selection anyway. While the price tag is a bit high, it still seems reasonable to me. The build just seems larger than most of the recent modulars (excluding 10255 : Assembly Square) and part count makes sense. I guess I won't know for sure until it's built and sitting next the rest of them...
  2. As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to pre-order it. It looks great (such an iconic location) and has some cool features. So, I took the plunge this morning on https://shop.lego.com/ to earn points and to qualify for the 40300 : Han Solo Mudtrooper. There are really only three things I would have preferred to be different in the set: The inclusion of Vaneé - Vader's cloaked attendant from Rogue One Made the set a larger Master Builder Series set - like 75222 : Betrayal at Cloud City and included the platform/area where Vader meets with Director Krennic Added a light brick so that the lava flow would glow
  3. As a fan of the 75098 : Assault on Hoth set, I really like this one as well. I had an internal struggle for years about buying the Death Star (10188 / 75159). Ultimately, I decided it was a little too "one note" and bought several of the characters on bricklink.com. Don't ask me why I didn't feel the same about an almost all white Assault on Hoth... Otherwise, this set really appeals to me for many reasons: ESB is my favorite Star Wars film by far and there have been far too few Bespin-based sets over the years. The Minifigure selection is great. Is Han the first Star Wars character with dual molded legs? The mini vehicles look great. Others seem to be bothered by the choice of red over orange for the Cloud Car. I don't have the same issue; the vehicle in the movie is such a dark orange it's almost red anyway. And Slave I looks fantastic. I prefer playsets to static UCS displays. The ability to access all parts of the set are great and I think the size of the areas is good considering you get so many rooms/scenes from the film. Variety in design and look of the different parts of the set. Lando's cape. I'll probably be picking this up as soon as it goes on sale.
  4. First impression: Wow! That looks amazing! ...and how cool is the side printing on Han's legs?
  5. I believe it’s exclusive to Walmart and LEGO brand stores in the US.
  6. FYI: 75217: Imperial Conveyex Transport is listed on the back of the August 2018 Store Calendar.
  7. As far as I can tell they are from a video on Youtube. The pics have since been posted to the LEGOLeaks Discord.
  8. I've only seen two low resolution pictures: one from the side, one from almost top-down. Unfortunately, I didn't save them. All I could really see was a control panel of some sort, a red and dark stone grey tank/canister, two or three steps up to a platform, and a small yellow crane - similar to the one in 75098: Assault on Hoth.
  9. Where did you get that information? I don't see a droid even remotely resembling CZ-1 unless they're counting that recolored medical droid.
  10. I agree with both points. ...and I also have a bit more controversial statement: I own and really like 75098 - Assault on Hoth. Regarding the new Fall sets - this is probably my least liked Star Wars Advent Calendar. I may not get it and just BrickLink Merrick (sp?) and his helmet. Otherwise, I really like the rest of them and it will be tough for me to decide what NOT to get.
  11. I've stated this on the LegoLeaks Discord already, but I'll say it here for those who don't access it: The Kessel Mine Worker looks like one of the individuals in the back of this photo but without a hat/helmet:
  12. Yes, spot on. I don't consider that a disappointment because I think the coaches work quite well. Yes, these panels are reversed from the image on the preliminary box image for 60197. Also, it looks like they changed the train's primary color from yellow to orange. It looks like there's at least eight straights on the preliminary box image for 60198 and only one switch left; no switch right is visible in either that box pic or this newer picture. How odd! All-in-all, I quite like the 60197 Passenger Train and will likely pick it up as I don't have any others. The 60198 Freight Train is likely a skip for me since I recently acquired the 60052 Cargo Train.
  13. What a fantastic display! There's so much going on I think I'll have to revisit the flickr album multiple times just to catch it all. I probably love the rowboat with the hole in it the most. The only things I can possibly think you could add to this would be a custom ship or seagulls.
  14. I bought the 60052: Cargo Train set largely in part because of 10254: Winter Holiday Train. Otherwise, the only other Train set I have ever owned was 7722: Steam Cargo Train Set when I was a kid. I wonder if it has had that sort of an impact on anyone else out there...
  15. That's not right, is it? Or did they change Tobias's outfit?
  16. Great review! I've been out of my dark ages for a few years now and was looking around at LEGO cargo trains. 60052 really piqued my interests as I'm in the U.S. and the engine looks more like the type used in U.S. I wanted to wait a bit to see what was offered in 2018. However, I decided 60198 wasn't for me after seeing the confidential box image and thankfully Amazon had 60052 for 25% off. So, I've made the jump and received it yesterday. I am really excited to put it together but a bit worried about going down the LEGO train rabbit hole. At any rate, one minor gripe I'd like to resolve is the non-angled gap between the corner bricks below the main windows: As far as I can tell, this would be best rectified like so with a Plate 2x2, Corner, 45 Deg.: Unfortunately, TLG does not make it in Flame Yellowish Orange. Any other easy suggestions?
  17. I would be highly surprised since the preliminary photo for the X-Wing had one figure with a lightsaber and one without. Plus, why would they include Vaner in an X-Wing set? Could this be more of a hint toward a new UCS Y-Wing?

  19. That R2-D2 makes perfect sense for inclusion in the Yoda’s Hut set.
  20. Here's my take on the 10260 - Dowtown Diner in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) before instructions are available. I'm hoping the model is helpful for those of you wanting to make modifications or put it side-by-side with other Modular Buildings. LXF File (LDD 4.3.10 - brickset 2248.1) My apologies but I've had to take a lot of liberties since either certain parts are not in LDD or the pictures made available don't cover certain angles. I've tried to make out which pieces would be used based on those images - including the parts list on the top of the box. Because of this (and because this isn't based off of official instructions) I'm not even going to attempt compiling an errors list. Hopefully someone out there finds this useful.
  21. Saw it on the regular LEGO subreddit; not on legoleaks.
  22. I like the PC but it's my least favorite Modular Building by far. I bought the PC two years ago, built it, and have already disassembled it, while all of the others in our house are still together (FB, GE, PS, TH, PR, DO, BB, AS, and also Ninjago City).
  23. It also looks like they're using the new Tile 4X4, W/ Bow piece around the six large vents on the back.
