Agreed on all points. A Fondor Haulcraft or even something ISB related would be an instant buy for me. -
LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

So true. While the queue seemed shorter, the site was almost completely unusable. I was logged on last night just before midnight Eastern U.S., was able to get through the queue in less than two minutes and started adding items to the cart from my Wishlist. However, set 75348: Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs TIE Interceptor was suddenly unlisted and I could not add it for at least 30 minutes. Then, when I went to my cart to see what had been added, I was prompted with some odd sort of error message over and over again. After a few more tries I was given the queue page again and required to wait. I decided to just wait until I awoke 6 hours later when I was also able to add 75348, apply VIP rewards, and successfully checkout. All of the gifts with purchase seem to be properly applied and I was able to order all the sets I wanted. But the pain of the process is continually frustrating. -

My take on 75353 is as follows: The Good The speederbikes looks fantastic. They are an excellent upgrade from those of the past. This version of the scout trooper continues to be just great. The Bad Luke and Leia minifigures could have been way better and more accurate. The trees in the set look terrible. I don't mind them being cut off at the tops because no one would expect a fully scaled tree. But the angular designs are simply bad. The cost. $80 for this? No thanks! Overall, I have to skip this set. I'm not a completist and need to pick and choose what I have room for. I have a few of these diorama and anniversary sets (ESB) already. But this one is just too expensive and too inaccurate for me to justify a purchase. I would have considered it at $50. -

Yes, this looks right. I also saw that this piece is used on the back of the new 75347 Tie Bomber set coming out in January in the same color. -

How is it a fake when at least one of the parts hasn’t been released in the light bluish grey yet?: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=1745&in=S -

Yes. He clearly has pruning in the video/pictures that are out. one big question I have is why they included an Imperial gonk droid. Has there ever been one in the films, shows, comics, or books? I don’t recall. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
lomis replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Firstly, I find the leaks sort of thrilling/satisfying in a way I can't describe. It actually helps build the anticipation before I can actually get my hands on a set. But I also like speculating on what sort of building techniques and new pieces may come in a set before I have the chance to buy it. In fact, in previous years I have built out each modular as much as I can in LDD or Stud.io before a set's release (not just Modulars). Then, once I build and buy the set, I compare how I thought it was done with reality. -

I feel the same way. This feels like some sort of cruel joke where LEGO will either not release the set or reset the price. -

The more I look at the image of the 75347 Tie Bomber set, the more I am impressed with how good it looks. I've been comparing it to other pictures of the Tie Bomber, like those pulled or rendered from Star Wars Squadrons assets (example), and the details they've captured with LEGO pieces is really well done. When looking at the non-LEGO image I was thinking things like "this could be done with a roller skate piece", and then switched over to the leaked LEGO image to see that's exactly what they used. This set will be a day one purchase for me. -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
lomis replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I finally built my physical copy of 10305 and must say it was quite an experience... I started collecting and building LEGO castle sets as a kid in the 80s. Now this was nothing like the castles of my past as there was no use of thin or raised baseplates, nor was there anything like the classic castle wall element or its more updated version. Instead, everything is brick-built, which I can only describe as densely packed and absolutely refreshing. This allowed for some really great details and some ingenious techniques to be incorporated into the build that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. The designers even built the lower/cave portions without the use of BURP (big ugly rock pieces), like part 6082 or part 6083, which are still included in sets sold today. And any large pieces - like the 1x6x5 wall element, 2x2x16 brick, or 6x8 ramp - are used only once each. The castle itself is a delight with so many features and creative angles that I would never have expected from an official castle set. There is a lot to unpack and I was never bored while building. If there was ever a repeated event, there was also some detail in the same step or between similar steps that would break any possible monotony. Lastly, nostalgia really hit me hard several times while building. But this was most palpable when I pulled the red, white, and blue shield out of the bag similar to those included in my first LEGO Castle set: 6077: Knight's Procession. It felt like I had stepped back in time and was actually holding a piece from my childhood. I highly recommend this set to anyone even close to interested in the LEGO Castle line.- 2,976 replies

I agree. But I can't fault someone for not feeling Christmas when it's not exactly warm in their experience. Having said that as someone from the US - this reminds me of is travelling during the Holidays. A warm vacation during Christmas time on or near the beach can be quite nice. -
This looks great. The only thing I think I would make is some greebling on the top of the port/bomb side cylinder.

I'm not sure about and "lore" around them. But aren't they opposing forces to the Royal Knights? I assumed this was the case because one of the Royal Knights was included in 6097: Night Lord's Castle and otherwise just seems out of place.- 2,976 replies

Regarding 75334: Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader - It seems VERY similar in size to 75171: Battle on Scarif from 5 years ago at the same $50 price. And I quite liked that set. I will definitely get it.
