  1. A #1 angle connector with an axle hole instead of a peg hole would be all kinds of excellent. The problem is that some models rely on the clearance afforded by the cutout areas to allow a 24-tooth gear to freely spin right next to them, so it looks like we'll be seeing 32039 for a while longer. Although I've never had one of them snap in in the way Mechbuilds described, I've lost a few due to getting cracked. They're an integral part of the pushrod suspension in 42000 Grand Prix Racer, so I'm glad to see LEGO is making them in yellow again - I can stock up on spares...
  2. Because the more holey one has less surface area for stickers. And is ugly as butts
  3. 42069 has 12 in yellow EDIT: Better constructed search including 42066-42070 range (nothing in 42066/8 though)
  4. Oh indeed Although, Creator Expert and whatever subtheme the Technic Porsche belongs to might deprive a rebooted Racers of all its potential glory, unless a dual-branding concept could be considered and accepted, idunno. Either way, I'd like to see more big exaggerated Technic things like these - the sparseness of the builds made them light and spacious enough to upgrade with Power Functions bits and whizz around good. I may have mentioned here or elsewhere that it would be interesting to see what could be done with 4-wide Tiny Turbos type stuff with all the new small pieces that have been introduced in the last five years, particularly the bowed and curved tile parts. I wouldn't even mind them being festooned with stickers again, as long as we don't get more STAMPs. I have no choice but to keep those parts together when storing my dismantled Terbeaus. Outdoor RC stuff sounds unlikely because of how rugged the parts need to be; they were so specialised that they were difficult to mix with all such as Technic. This was probably intended to prevent people from snapping parts that weren't really designed to be part of something that flings itself off a mound into the air. We may never see such radness ever again.
  5. I am notorious on there. To have a better time of finding what is available, Brickset occasionally scrapes the site to compile set inventories and new part additions. Unfortunately, LEGO changed the way their site works a while back and it's no longer possible to check via Brickset if a part is actually available to buy. The best thing to do is keep Bricks and Pieces open in a separate tab while searching Brickset. Also (you've probably encountered this, but it's here for everyone), don't use your browser's back button to go back to the search, or it'll empty your shopping basket. Always use the "> Add bricks from another set" link instead. Really annoying quirk.
  6. I don't know, but I'm already saving up the cash!
  7. Yeah, this set really needs an air tank to keep enough air in the system to play around with, and possibly another pump to refill the air system faster. It's rather fun to make such modifications though - I'll see about adding some pics of my own ideas to the improvements thread when I next have the time to rebuild it.
  8. Tens of thousands of parts from Bricks and Pieces, and a possible lifetime ban from annoying TLG with further orders.
  9. I'm unlikely to ever get 42055 due to lack of interest and space for all the bits, but I coveted them yellow gear quadrants. So it was nice to get 8 of them for £3 from that there ebay (vs. ~£11 on Bricklink / £8.24 from Bricks an Pieces). It's unfortunate that the gear teef are not on the outside of the curve; they could have been great for making bascule bridges.
  10. There's also the smooth counterpart to that tyre, which was introduced in the Creator Expert London Bus (https://brickset.com/parts/6182551). Some of those doubled up on the Mack truck would be absolutely perfect, but expecting 16-18 of them might be greedy, heh.
  11. Yeah, definitely don't leave an open container of Dichloromethane or Methyl Ethyl Ketone in an enclosed space unless you like extreme migraines and nausea lasting several hours, and permanent optical nerve damage. Certainly don't use it without gloves, because it's readily absorbed by the skin, can dissolve subcutaneous fat, and in large enough amounts will metabolise into Carbon Monoxide. It's safer (and cheaper) to just buy a new helmet.
  12. You mean "exactly what we want". Potential aspirations of being a set designer would fall to bits reading stuff like this.
  13. Ooo nice work Philo! Especially those PF2 parts.
  14. I am always thinking of 8070's rear end
  15. It does look a bit like Jim's favourite around the back, yeah :B Could just be a trick of the light...
  16. The front wheel compared to the 18944 mudguard and 5x7 panel suggests that it uses these tyres on Xerion rims. I'm willing to bet that in the gap between the mudguards - partially obscured by the "P" in preliminary - that's a yellow shock absorber lurking in there. Something overall very similar in looks and function to the 42039. I think you're spot-on with this one though.
  17. I can certainly see some inspiration from past liveries: This is why I wonder if it's going to depend on stickers to smooth out the lines. Of course, the design will probably also change between now and release. I like the general shape of it, so I hope that doen't change too much. And it would be nice to have some more blue 5x11 flat panels (as long as they don't get "designed out")!
  18. The awful picture quality make me suspect it wil be these:
  19. I hope the final blue and white colour scheme for the Rally Car's livery is more coherent without relying too much on stickers to do that. I never apply stickers to my builds, so I was pleasantly surprised that 42039 still looked good without. Also, It's nice to see that the Rally Car appears to have a roll cage made with some of these:
  20. EDIT: there was a post here, now there isn't.
  21. I'm surprised they didn't put a minifig in the Dragon set.
  22. Yep, it's only the new free-running 16T gears that are incompatible with the old driving rings. Those 16T gears will sort of work with the extension rings too; they're ~1.5mm out but they do clutch.
