  1. This one is tricky to spot unless you search for the element ID (6160219). Then you'll see why, because it has a transparent preview for some reason.
  2. Instructions for the three 2H models (and B-Models) are now online. Go get 'em!
  3. I have this mental image of a photographic darkroom illuminated only by red lightbricks
  4. My local one is closed right now, so I couldn't check. I'll have a look on tuesday.
  5. This is unfortunate, but hey, yer back! (and so am I)
  6. I'm just gonna mention that these things are back in in orange EDIT: 15 appear in this set for some reason. I already have 17 of 'em, but I'll surely get more when they're "back in stock" on Bricks and Pieces in about 8 months. Yah, I use the orange ones specifically for securing PF parts when prototyping so I know exactly what to pull to remove / swap motors and such.
  7. If it doesn't need the stiffness of one of those bars, you could cut one of these to size.
  8. Good, they're one of the most awful parts to work with. The intention was good, but I can't fathom why they ended up being such a pain in the buttox to insert and remove. Leave luck to heaven for instances which require attaching a sub-assembly with a loose one where the peg end needs to go into something (hi 42039 front soilerz). Managed to afford a 42066 with the contents of my swear jar.
  9. Even the webmonsters gave up keeping track of everything, I suppose. That's the image from the "4" server; this link for the "5" server just leads to an error. At great risk of posting more stuff that should be in another thread, it'd be nice to have some sort of insight as to exactly what changes warrant a new element and design ID when such iterations happen. I need to be put out of my misery.
  10. Thanks for inventory porn. The purple things will be the sexiest.
  11. Looks like that medium stone grey 11M crossaxle finally made an appearance above the rear wheelarches on 42069.
  12. By now I'm consumed by the habit of dragging the page links into the tab or address bar. Refreshing the page is no good because it breaks forward / back navigation - this was a huge black mark against AJAX in the early days, but coding practices and browser support improved. It's terrible to see basic usability like page navigation ruined because some devs at IPS wanted to tart things up. In contrast, using the in-thread new posts notification has never timed out when fetching new content.
  13. I used to have a filing box (a big lidded tub with internal rails for files) that eventually gave up under the weight of everything. Handle snapped, box cracked, and all the little card hammocks inside tore away from their metal supports. So don't use filing boxes! Or if you must, get loads of them and spread out the weight. Nowadays I use an aluminium flight case. I have learned BUGGER-ALL.
  14. Yep, you'll need to create some new subfolders in LDD's own installation folder and do a bit of text-editing on some copied files, though.
  15. Cripes, imagine the friction on that drivetrain if this is all it has for drive.
  16. Whoo I wonder what type of red angle connector that teddy is sitting on. #3, at least four of 'em in the thing
  17. So, after the page-scrolling mess that was my initial new parts review*, I decided to make a nice little separate page with all the new bits so far - it will be updated as and when new things are discovered: http://gnac.neocities.org/lego_2017_technic.html Some parts here are not necessarily "new" in terms of the design and colour combination, but they do have elements IDs which suggest that something about them has changed. They might not even officially appear with those design IDs, as we've seen before with things like this. Also, about the page itself: the links at the top lead to Brickset - some of which won't actually work until LEGO CS updates their inventories and Huwbot adds the parts. Parts names appear when hovering over images, and doing the same with the colour bar below them gives a description of the colour. * I'll be wiping that post since it looks crap and this supercedes it anyway
  18. It's not immediately obvious from the pic, but this here is an 11M cross-axle in Medium Stone Grey (element ID 6178172), found while wandering around LEGO's image server... no information about which sets it could appear in, but knowing about it should ease the concerns of some builders. EDIT: there's a whole load of other stuff too, if you like dark brown and variants of purple
  19. Some Bricklink IDs add extra stuff to LEGO's own IDs - in this case, that "b" on the end. Apprently, this is to differentiate between the slightly different designs over the years. LEGO doesn't do this, so If something doesn't pop up, it could well be because of the extra stuff like "b", "c05", "px116", etc.
  20. If they do, it'll be under the "Ideas" theme, not "Creator".
  21. Hey, not just for kids; I wanna whizz one around too :B The main obstacle though for me buying the thing is not necessarily the price, but the fact that I have no fewer than 8 AA batteryboxes 6 IR remotes 6 IR receivers 10 M motors I can't really justify getting loads more of these unless I get hooked on GBCs, maybe
  22. AAAAA I forgot I bought two 42050 Drag Racers also Not just for the obvious "having 4 Tumbler tyres", but also to get a load more black Technic panels. There are other sets where I ended up with duplicates, not because I made any effort to get them, but because they were buried among some job lots: 8420 and 42007.
  23. Finally got one of these this morning and smashed out the build in about 5 hours. The build was never monotonous, but often frustrating because the steering kept getting knocked while building, and I don't like the idea of backdriving such an expensive part as a servo motor. I actually didn't think my Amazon order (£115!) would ever be fulfilled this late in the game, so I had already bought the parts I missed to reconstitute one. I reckon I'll build another one and hand control of it to my niece for some BEETLE FIGHTS!
