The LEGO Group takes civil actions against LEPIN
MAB replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Have you used Lepin, and can you confirm it is inferior, or are you speculating about the quality? Part of the problem seems to stem from their quality is very good, and that the main difference is the Lego name on the bricks. -
The definition is in the "I love that minifigure" book. Lego will define it any way it wants at any particular time, to ensure that people buy stuff. Other examples are Splinter (from TMNT, torso only) and Gollum (LOTR/Hobbit). Whereas Scutter (from Chima), who doesn't look much like a minifig, is a minifig.

Ideas for new Lego themes! (Non-licensed)

Which parts of Friends are sexist? -
The problem with those is that they are (for me) too movie realistic and no longer look anything like lego minifigures.

Series 1 CMF were made in China, and they were issued in 2010. 7 years ago. And they were making some other minifigure parts there before that.

Very nice. Are the statues custom made?

It's all over ... Well done to copmike and team for another fun advent draw.

With the exact title, I think none whatsoever. I had never heard of it. Even if it was a generic name given to it, I cannot see them doing something so big and finding enough buyers. Unfortunately MOCs like this will always remain awesome MOCs.

Nice MOC, but it has no chance through ideas, and the title is very misleading. This is not an upcoming LEGO train set.

I haven't looked that closely, but isn't there a difference in height?

There is a hinged axle joiner, but you are probably better off using a pair of gears at 90 degrees.

It will be easiest to show a photo so others can see what you have done to avoid cross talking.

And there are also glow in the dark stickers in some sets. MF Hearse had both GITD and white versions, depending on the product run.

The manatee for prize A is much nicer than the manatee for prize E, although the F manatee is probably one of the finest available :-) Or have prizes been announced and I have missed them?
-
Me too. I wanted Stay Puft and Slimer to go with my Ecto-1, so I bought the two Dimensions packs, even though I don't have the game. I'm not buying the Disney Castle just for the minifigs.

Half way through ... squeaky bum time approaching for the remainers.

The white tuxedo jacket torso for Bruce Wayne briefly appeared (out of stock) but has since been removed. -
How good is the Manchester discovery centre store?
MAB replied to LEGOshibainu's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I haven't been for over a year, but ... Not much good. RRP sets and limited choice, nothing special / exclsuive. PAB at LDC is different, as it is not a proper LEGO store (sold by weight rather than cups). No rare pieces. It is different as it is not a true LEGO store. It is a store on the side of an attraction run by Merlin. -
There is a difference between lamenting the lack of Classic Castle and knocking Nexo Knights. I doubt it is the fault of the Nexo Knights theme that there are no current Classic Castle sets. It wouldn't surprise me that if Nexo Knights went away, there would still be no Classic Castle. Presumably there is a reason that Lego doesn't want any "real" castle sets at the moment. Is it just that Nexo Knights is out? Probably not, given how long it has been since there was a "real" theme. For the 2013 theme, there were complaints of being too junior, 2012 Joust was well accepted but didn't seem to sell that well (always on sale), MVR etc from 2011 seemed to be accepted as OK but no castle (and again on sale a lot). Then there is the recent Castle chess set, again needing to be discounted by lego to shift it, so presumably there is little market for realistic armies in lego's view if people are not buying that.

Only if he comes with a sound brick. Pink Vader would probably do well too. As would a boner attachment for C-3PO.

Will Chima return to the world of LEGO
MAB replied to brickmerchant114's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Most of the sets you point to seem to be ones sold not by amazon (on the primary market), but by resellers (on the secondary market). Lego doesn't care so much about the prices for discontinued sets, as they no longer sell them. They have already sold them to the resellers. If future market research says that there was a good market for a new Chima range, then I think lego would do it. I doubt they'd start scouring amazon for resellers stock that is not selling, when they know their own historical sales figures. -
I was thinking about a speculation thread yesterday. I'm guessing (based on past offerings): Disney Star Wars Marvel DC Angry Birds Mixed / Dimensions Although I'd like to see some Elves in there too.

It is from IKEA. It doesn't allow you to display everything at once as the doors will always cover at least half the display. So not great if you like to display a collection. A normal wardrobe with doors will also hide a collection and allow it all to be displayed when opened.
