[COR - FB] Spudkirk Cultural Centre
Wellesley replied to Wellesley's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks @evancelt and @Khorne -
I reworked to of my older ships, the 'Lipizzana' and the 'Lydia'. Also I built a little steam tugboat and had some fun with a Fabuland rowboat. As the first two ships already are posted in the BoBS-subforum and the other two are too simple to deverse an own thread, I thought to share them all here. I added a jib- and a topsail, anchors and a little hatch: I removed the bowsprit and the two foresails from the 'Lydia': The tugboat: This one is more of a fun build. Whenever I decide to add sails, I'll probably use another solution for mast and rigging:

@evancelt Yes, I made them. I will see, if I have the pattern laying around, it was just some red paper, using the torso as a template. I also added a link to the pictures. -

@Spud The Viking That would work. Go for it. Just the Temple though as I have done the Gallery just now. -

@Spud The Viking The Gallery stands on a 32 x 32 Baseplate and the Temple fills 32 x 48 studs. I wouldn't count the alley, as it is too simple. So the Gallery medium and the Temple maybe large? I will have to wait to license the Temple though, as i can only afford the medium Gallery right now. -

Thanks @NOD and @blackdeathgr! That means a lot as I painted and drew all of the pictures myself. These are just downscaled prints. Yes, I really like the angel. -
This is really awesome! Can't wait to see further progress!

I really like this one!

[Text is unfinished] In Spudkirk the flourihing business led to some great wealth and thus the expansion from necessary tasks to cultural expression. Thus the Citizens can enjoy an exhibition of maritime art. The architecture of the Gallery reminds many of the old world, where buildings were raised in the style of neighbouring countries, sometimes by long gone forefathers. A lot of the visitors are using the chance to go to the nearby temple. The holy building shows signs of various religious streams that intermingled in the past. While the architecture itself is rather untypical for a Corrish structure, the dome can be found upon a lot of important buildings. The angel is more symbolic for the citizens but screams to be part of a house of Faith for miles to see. The entrance has more archaic roots, symbols from times before the empire. A very naturalistic approach, which a lot of Corries still admire, though not follow seriously. Its long presence is fitting for a seafaring nation, which always was close to the elements. Rough weather is sometimes spoken about as if it were a self-conscious deity. For anybody who wants to see the pictures I used: https://sakul.crevado.com/

@Bregir The buildings are the same as in the intro-thread. Hence I thought about downgrading it to medium. -

Thank you very much. It was fun to build them and I am pleased with the different seagull poses. Thanks @evancelt! It is always a challenge to make some good photos. Especially with bigger dioramas. Thus I also try to do some macro shots without non-Lego background. I'm glad the tan surface works. I wanted to keep it rather clean and simple, as it is supposed to be spacious and the workes have to move stuff around. -

On the road to Pamu [Collab - part 1]

Cool! That roof works surprisingly well. -
To Rear-Admiral Fletcher Commander of the Royal Terra Novan Fleet Wullham became quite busy. The city flourishes and there clearly is no shortage of work. But on the other hand we struggle under a shortage of supplies, an unfortunate moment, as a new ship, the 38 Gun frigate Argonaut, just launched, now sitting in the harbour with only the standing rigging complete. The situation would benefit from the admiralty taking up an official position about the importance of Wullham and its trading value. I hope to solve the issue as soon as possible. Your humble servant, Jorin Farrensman Shipwright of Wullham So now I need the help of other Corrington members. To make it an offical GoC entry, I need you to post additional tasks to get the ship being able to participate in the game. For example I thought about some scenes like preparing the yards/chopping some trees, making the sails, recruiting the crew, collecting the food rations and other supplies. Or whatever you can come up with. So once 4 tasks are done, I will add the frigate to the GoC thread. It would be nice, if you post them here as well, of course you can license them. This idea was somewhat agreed upon by @Bregir, if anything won't work, I will change or delete it.

For travels in the new world and bigger dreams of a shipping company Jorin Farrensman purchased the first vessel built in the new shipyards. His new Sailing Barge goes by the name 'Freya'. With her sailing properties and the distribution of living and cargo space he is more than happy. If I intend to license this ship, it will be a Class III.

Just have to license it. What size would that be? Take in consideration that the buildings already existed.- 43 replies

This is my first entry for the 11th Challenge "Strategic Outposts". To Jorin Farrensman Shipwright of Hvalfanghimr As the Crown was very pleased with your work the last years, it became clear there is great interest in expanding collaboration. The vessels ordered from your shipyard are serving Corrish interests and influence in the Eastern seas and collonies well. Yet for a lasting and efficient naval presence we can‘t afford to rely on shipyards in the old world. Therefore the admiralty developed plans to construct a Naval Resupply Complex in Wullham, including shipyards with launching slides and drydocks, warehouses for ropes, spiers, cannons and ammunition, provisions rations and drinking water. You hereby receive our official request to take administration of the shipyard and supervision on shipbuilding. Rear-Admiral Fletcher Commander of the Royal Terra Novan Fleet Month later the first buildings of the new Naval Resupply Complex are standing. Officials are inspecting the progress and admire the soon to lauch Sailing Barge ‘Freya‘.

I forgot to post these two entries into this thread: That would make the second task for the Merchant Marine and the first for the Daily Life of the Myzec. Also I just added my first entry for the Strategic Outposts challenge.
