  1. Heyho, the forums are full of beautiful Lego ship pictures, but mostly just the ship out of different views or details like rigging or the interior. What I miss a little bit is scenery, like just marine life, like reading of the Articles of War, midshipmen learning how to use the sextant. There are wonderful frigates yet; a few even called the H.M.S Surprise, so why not rebuild some scenes from Master and Commander. I would appreciate some pictures. Wellesley
  2. Insane how much effort you put in the interior and little details like the captain's cabin, the ship bell etc. Would it be ok, if i steal the idea of the ship painting in the cabin? :P Wellesley
  3. Its a very beautiful ship! But i think the biggest ship class for prefab hulls is a frigate. With two gun decks it could look a little bit clumsy. But actually you did a great job on it and i think the height of the masts solved this problem (you can see it on the third and fourth pic). Wellesley
  4. Found a photo on my computer including some changes: Both done...even though the yellow stripes just got a slight curvature. Still inactive, did this in march. Edit: The part with the mizzen mast isn't at its actual position.
  5. Sure, sorry
  6. Thanks a lot!
  7. These carronades are nice, maybe I'll use some of them on my ship of the line. Good job Admiral Bejaune!
  8. Soon I'll move to Romania for a year again and my ship will stay here:( But here some things i want to change when im back in Germany: Working on the gunports: currently my gunports have a width of 3 bricks and every gap is made of 3 bricks as well. The result is that the gunports look a little bit oversized. I will probably change it into 2 brick wide gunports and 4 brick wide gaps between them (saw that often here in the forums). But i wont change the yellow stripes into a curve, momentally they are parallel to the waterline. Changings the masts into "real" bricks, the prefabricated masts are instabil in a height I need for a ship of the line (even in the new photos they still look a little bit low). Probably will use these here: maybe in yellow or brown but I think I would prefer beige. Some work on the interior. Put in some details like more beautiful railings or brick built canons. Greetings to all who read this!
  9. thats an awesome fleet! want to do me a favour? put both frigates and the brig in a line and take a stern view photo :)
  10. And here some pictures of some sceneries, the cabins etc, showing some minifigures to get an idea of the scale. -Sorry: photos deleted, I'll fix that as soon as possible-
  11. Out of important yellow bricks, I just took some more pictures of her current condition. I’m happy with the hull and curve, It doesn’t look too angular even though the main part is made of normal bricks. I like the classic Lego ship system so I tried to use only the Lego masts. The result is “wrong” rigging but a typically Lego ship (I hope so). Only the hull was too tiny and wouldn’t fit in my color scheme. One thing I want to change is the construction of the gun ports. Have to make them movable.
  12. such a beautiful scenery!
  13. was inactive for a while but started again working on my ship. found some old pictures which im going to show first. just to get an idea how it could look after finishing my work. thanks to Admiral Bejaune. I think my ship will be equipped with some of the carronades I saw here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=80120
  14. I love the rigging! just got the old Lego masts, but I will change them as soon as possible. First I need more money:) Lego is an expensive hobby for people of my age:( The colorscheme is perfect, I don't mean the standard yellow black from Nelson, but how you used the blue bricks. The only thing I would try is to change your deck color into light gray and beige and then choosing the best one after all. greetings from Germany
  15. i really like the rigging

  17. [pid][/pid] 147B Here you can see the finished vessel! Here you can read about the progress following this thread. Hi everybody, before ill upload my pictures from building the ship of the line ill first give you some background information. I was a great fan of Lego and history, especially of the Napoleonic war, my whole life. When I was around 13 or 14 I built a frigate with 10 cannons per broadside (got no more cannons). As I found this page here the enthusiasm for Lego ships came back. I took some pictures of the frigate to show you these first, then ill upload the pictures of my current work. I just don’t have enough bricks to finish my work (and had to destroy my frigate), but wanted to share the current situation with you. Would be nice if you could give me some tips on how to make the stern (hate the one of my frigate). -Sorry: photos deleted, I'll fix that as soon as possible- so now the ship of the line the curve i use: -Sorry: photos deleted, I'll fix that as soon as possible- both decks will have a battery with 11 cannons. will probably look like that: -Sorry: photos deleted, I'll fix that as soon as possible- my lower stern and the current model from the side: -Sorry: photos deleted, I'll fix that as soon as possible- Wellesley
