Without knowing what your city's town hall looks like, it's a little hard for any of us to give suggestions...

LDD brick #64230 interpretation
Classicsmiley replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As far as I know, there is no way to export flexible pieces from LDD. -
Bluebrick should be exactly what you need to help with your layout. You can create a "table" layer to hold your table top, a baseplate layer to hold your road plates, and other color-coded layers to use for building placeholders. One of the nice features of Bluebrick is the connection points it has between road plates, and between train track sections. Once you place your initial section, you can then just click the picture (in the track or baseplate list) of the piece you want to add next, and Bluebrick will add that piece in line with the selected piece. For things like T-intersection baseplates, you can click on the side of the baseplate that you want the next road piece to connect to. Have fun!

LDD and Bluebrick can have some complementary functions, but they don't have any direct interaction. There is no way to directly import an LDD file into Bluebrick. (You might be able to convert the LDD file to an Ldraw file, but that has its own set of challenges.) Bluebrick is most useful for laying out your tables, where you want your train track, road plates, and blocks of buildings. LDD can be useful for visualizing what portions of your layout might look like, but it's unlikely that you'd be able to create your entire layout in it. However, you could import the LDD files for some of the modular buildings into it, and get an idea of what some of your street scenes might look like. If you could tell us what your overall goal is, someone might be able to give you some more specific ideas.

NEW LDD Brickset out - 1392
Classicsmiley replied to Lyichir's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The update was about 159MB, so you'll probably notice when it downloads. It's only a new brick version, not new LDD version. The new brick version is 1392. -
Digital Znap in Ldraw
Classicsmiley replied to 1963maniac's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There are Znap pieces in the Ldraw library, so you might be able to use MLcad and Lpub to create instructions. -
what are these for?
Classicsmiley replied to shadowninjaxd's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
They're weapons from some of the minifigure-scaled Bionicle sets. http://www.bricklink...st.asp?q=55237* -
It's interesting that this instruction set looks like it was generated with LPub...

What's your budget? There are a wide variety of very good Windows 8 Pro tablets out there, with different form factors and accessories to suit your needs. Since LDD isn't fully touch-compatible by itself right now, you'll need to plan on either finding a software utility to map touch gestures to keyboard keys, or get a tablet that can incorporate accessories. From a performance standpoint, the Surface Pro 2 tablets would probably be good. the 64 and 128GB versions have 4GB of RAM, and the 256 and 512GB versions have 8GB of RAM. They all support Microsoft's Type keyboards, which in my experience are pretty decent. They can be hooked to external accessories and monitors via USB3 and DisplayPort. Lenovo also has some laptop/tablet convertible units that look pretty decent.

I just recently acquired a Surface Pro tablet, and I've been looking for the most effective way to "touch-enable" LDD. I came across Gesturekey, and I was wondering if any of you have tried it before. It's only $13US, but I'm still a little hesitant to buy it without any recommendations. Alternately, if you know of any free Windows 8.1 gesture creation or mapping tools, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!

Did you get a + N Store Solutions section, at the bottom of the report? It will only show you the prices if it actually found a solution based on the parts in your list, countries searched, and number of stores allowed per solution. At that point there will be an expandable list that shows what parts can be purchased at what stores.

30033 or 75937, in the modified plate section. I suspect that 75937 is the correct version, as it has cutouts for brick corners.

Why didn't you use the actual piece? I'm not sure I see a reason for the replacement.

Hmm. Your attachment isn't showing up. Could you try uploading the file to a site like Brickshelf, and then just post the link?

LDD 4.3.8
Classicsmiley replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
215MB. The size has certainly gone up since the last version... I'm not seeing too many new bricks so far. I was really hoping to see the new ball joint pieces... -
Those sets actually use Maersk blue, not medium blue. (#11 Pastel Blue in LDD)

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Classicsmiley replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you make a quick template with your group, when you add new instances of the template, they will all be grouped. If you just copy/paste a group, it pastes the pieces, but doesn't keep them grouped. -
