    I get the subtheme thing. I only "collect" Star Wars sets with Minifigures. But I'll buy anything if I have the money or if has some pieces that I can't live without.

    Ah 7, that's not that bad then. I don't have any pictures to my knowledge of anything prior to my dark ages. Excluding one image of me getting a castle set for Christmas. (See Flickr)

    Ah build. I never have enough time to build. I've got project sketches that I'll never get to due to time or cost. So yeah I'm building.

    I think my LUG has about 4 or 5 out of 30. So not 50/50 but those are still pretty good odds for a toy that hasn't tried to target the female population until recently.

    Yep totally your fault! No I'm kidding of course but I do tend to try to build "new" ideas not just rehash old ones unless the old ones were done far less better than I could do. I think my Lady Luck was a good example of this. I had seen a lot of people do it just not to the level of scale and detail that I knew I could. I am the same way with some your MOCs. You've done them so nicely that for now I can't even come close. So I'd rather build something that will get noticed. Rather than doing a smaller version of what you just did, unless I feel I can make it more detailed or with some nice NPUs then I'll go for it. :)

    I found that a lot of the "big scenes" have already been done by MOCers like ACPin. It's hard to justify buying and building a massive scene when someone has already done it extremely well. Most of the ships and vehicles that show up in the movies and TV series have been done by TLG or talented MOCers (including myself hopefully). No new content is coming out of Lucas/Disney with the end of the Clone Wars Series (until EPs 7, 8, & 9). So all that is left for now is obscure ships, vehicles, and scenes from the expanded universe. There's also been a heavy backlash from the OT crowd regarding what is and isn't "Star Warsy". The expanded universe becomes "just" Sci-Fi and therefore these MOCs are more welcomed in Sci-Fi groups and shunned by the hard core Star Wars right wing. I know I've pretty much "quit" Star Wars MOCs myself for the above reasons. Sci-Fi doesn't have a group of traditionalists saying, "You MOC isn't Sci-Fi get it out of here!" So I build "Sci-Fi" with hints, shout outs, and Easter eggs of Star Wars.

    Hello and welcome. It's been 17 years since I set foot in Cardiff, but the memories of that week will last a life time. Excellent old hotel down town near the castle and next to a casino. I think I enjoyed enough Pimm's & Lemonade and Brains Cider to last for several weeks. Wait you didn't take some American Tourist out on the town one night in the summer of '96 did you!?

    Mmm. Very nice. Forest men was my favorite. I have a fond memory of doing a cross country trip and not remembering about 8 hours of the usually long and painful drive because I was playing with my "new" Forest Men's Hideout in the back of our station wagon. (Yes back in with the suitcases, long before you were required to wear seatbelts.)

    Ouch if that was the UCS Imperial Shuttle that's an expensive way to "come out". I eased back in with the 1999 X-Wing. :) Buying the UCS Shuttle would require more than a casual interest.
