  1. I'd buy the Gondorian soldiers at once! I haven't quite understood, however, how you intend to build Grond's head. Any clues for me?
  2. This is good fun! I like the ping pong table.
  3. Very nice building!
  4. More pictures please! I checked out your stuff on flickr - WOW! You seem to be a big fan of this "plate modified 2x3" brick (what's the exact category?)
  5. I tried the LDD some years ago and found it was c**p, em, bad. However, it seems to have developed into a fascinating tool. I need to give it another try. How many month to I have to calculate for getting into the LDD? On one of the above "real-life" pictures there is a custom build cannon visible - could I see more of that? I think I understand the carronade.
  6. I need to answer some of your questions: @Kolonialbeamter: "Did you go for custom midsections? If so, would you mind to present your solution? Looks like a promising idea!" Yes, apparently I did. I just did not have the standard midsections, so I had to improvise. This is what it looks like (and I also ran out of inverted red slopes which you might tell from the picture ) I used technic bricks and disguised them with red tiles. Then I applied my half-a-stud one-full-stud approach. @Kabel: I just love your "Rose of Asgard"! How did you stabilize the mast?
  7. Hi, the cannons look familiar - but the rest is WAY OUT! Incredible, how much work you have put into this ship. I am very much looking forward to the next set of pictures!
  8. Hi, I like the captain's cabin. And the sails! What's this golden minifig at the bow? Mr Gold?
  9. Nice picture - are you going to build it?
  10. Ok, ok, I agree - it is not a galleon. So I probably need to remove all the Spanish guys on board... Still, the main thing for me was to try out something based on the famous CGH tutorial (hence the stern...). And I need to do something about the sails (especially as they also differ in colour....)
  11. Great stuff - I am looking forward to the next parts of the fortress!
  12. Fantastic! And modular! Wow. I hope my kids don't want me to try to copy this.... I am curious: How do you take the pictures? The first photo looks very different from the WIP ones (and the colours are warmer). Is it all about digital editing?
  13. Hello Captain Becker, yes, the second photo went downhill.... but work has continued and can now be found here in the forum: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=90944 There you will be able to judge the overall curvature.
  14. [pid][/pid] 159C Buenos dias! This time my first attempt based on Greenhair's wisdom has been manned with Spanish troops, so it probably has to be called a Galleon. I also think that an "HMS Centurion" has already been done. Therefore here we have "El Centurion"! You may ask, why I call this "work in progress" while all key ingredients are there? The key reason is that I am quite unhappy with the sails but frankly, I do not have a good idea what they should look like... (And it may be a reference to my missing skills in photo-editing ) I have chosen Spanish soldiers from different sources and times: As you may notice I have varied from the famous tutorial in places. That is, I go outward by half a stud and also by one full stud (using inverted slopes underneath). This look ok to me (could have been worse...) - let's hear your feedback. Some features, which might not be visible at first glance: There is a hold underneath the lower deck which is accessible (floor covered with tiles) and which then can hold the Spanish silver. The roof of the captain's cabin is removable so you can see his desk, etc. By the way, this is of course one key element of my ships: My children must be interested in playing with them. Therefore I have cut down on rigging, etc. which would make playing and access to the lower deck, etc. more difficult. So, there you go with "El Centurion". Once I have a good idea regarding the sails, I will post an update.
  15. Very good! I like the lifeboat - this is something which I have also sometimes tried to include. Your solution looks good!
  16. And now I am able to add the famous "Norwegian Blue" Its a must-have for every captain! @Matthias130182: The lettered bricks are still available. You can get them as part of something called "business card holder".
  17. Hi Sebeus, I would be much interested in your tutorial! (Once you have decided to create and post it) How many ships have you built so far? How many of them do still exist?
  18. A truly great collection of ships. I must admit, I also like the HMS Sawfish best. And "yes", you could have used tiles instead of curved slopes, but I appreciate that you gave us the chance to see what comes out of the slope-based approach. I think it's unique. (However, this will be difficult to carry into my designs as I only have very few curved slopes. Practically none... Max one or two .... In the wrong colour .... )
  19. Beautiful! Makes me envious! Will be hard to catch up on this. Amazing how you did the bow. I haven't quite figured out what kind of bricks you have used. Any clues?
  20. Hi Kabel, I like your models. However, my "work in progress" looks promising. I will start a new post soon. The second picture did not really work out ... And I live in Cologne ... might be easier to share photos...
  21. Keep on!
  22. Captain Greenhair's Tutorial has been helpful. I am currently working on a new ship. ... and I will be applying most of Captain Greenhair's techniques. However, I have made it more complicated for me as my model will be smaller and as I am extending the sides twice, once half a stud, using a jumper, and once one stud. Let's see how this will all work out in the end.
  23. @Bring more popcorn: Bard is on the right side of the building. However, we'll have to wait for the third film until we know how Bard is going to deal with Smaug!
  24. "shards" - yes, that's the word in English. Thanks for the kind feedback!
  25. Good stuff! I like the way you've created the water. - And the storyline attached to it.
