  1. Consolation for Mitgardia came from the South - battle-hardened Mounted Ostrich Archers were sent North by the Desert King by mediation of Captain Marron. Marron had been at the victory parade in Kaliphlin and had used the opportunity to connect to the Desert King and his generals. So, after having defended the northern walls, Marron personally welcomed the first MOA battalion that arrived in Mitgardia. Of course, some Northern support was necessary to make the allies successful: Warm clothes... ... and warm, black leathered boots. .. gloves and coats... ... well, the ostriches were sent back to Kaliphlin. And another surprise was waiting for Captain Marron: he was promoted to Major! Major Marron gathered his men and returned to the northern front to face the Algus again. C&C welcome. In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 3 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!
  2. Well, they don't eat the crabs as they are too fast. They usually try to catch a Jar Jar...
  3. Oh, I had not commented on this so far: this is brilliant. Choice of helmets for the French is a great idea! And rightfully you have chosen grey trousers for the British (they could be light grey, actually). The thing is, I have just been to Waterloo to see the site of the battle. They've built an exhibition now which is really good. And then we watched the 1970 movie "Waterloo" (If you haven't I can only recommend!) - and then we saw a 200-year-documentary. So I am very much into the topic. Therefore your builds are an excellent match and they are historically perfect! "Nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won"...
  4. Thanks - I would have done the three smaller arches in the same way but I could not find a third arch of the same size... I think they should be called "loopholes" - and, yes, I wanted to show that the loopholes are manned (which turned out to be difficult). Thanks, (Inspiration still owed to soccerkid)
  5. Great. Just like the original!
  6. Excellent, I love the details. Everything is very well designed!
  7. Great submarine - I hope you'll find a treasure!
  8. Very fine house
  9. Beautiful. With a few changes this would also be a perfect medieval city.
  10. Thanks. Snow was inspired by soccerkid. I like the gate too That is interesting. Does it mean I have to do something very complex? Thanks for noticing the windows. Thanks -
  11. Excellent landscape, fine story and build!
  12. That is good, thanks! The captain has been on vacation... Forced perspective - I'll be working on it. crabs - yes, they are part of the show. It seems that they change their colour when they leave the water Thanks - it's all about the monkeys, basically... Yes, I admit, this scene is quite colorful. Thanks, I'll do my best. Thanks! Donkey Kong is also a good reference point! Thanks - unfortunately I can't repeat this very often as I only have a few of these dark tan bushes.
  13. Every year around midsummer the islanders of the happy island of Cascara are celebrating the "Feast of the Monkey": The dancing usually lasts five to six hours... ... by then the monkey statues are utterly exhausted... ... and need a rest... (I've tried a new water technique but it does not come out in the pictures... The stuff in the background is an attempt at "forced perspective palm trees") More and large pics here. C&C welcome.
  14. How the North was defended: Captain Marron and his men had rushed to a newly built part of the "Northern Wall" that was supposed to protect Mitgardia from the Algus. The vicious Algus attacked the walls relentlessly. Luckily it was already obvious that they did not like the combination of oil and fire very much: It would push them back - but it still would not suffice to ultimately defeat them... (end of this part of the story) Shot from the backside. Here you can see that Steen Larsson was also there to help... More (and larger pictures) to find in the corresponding flickr album. C&C welcome (and: yes, it is a pun on "how the west was won") In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 2 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!
  15. The picture you've posted looks promising, however regarding your photobucket account I get "library is password-protected". You might want to link some additional pics to your post. It seems that you have uploaded your picture to this forum, but unfortunately that is not the way it should be done. The key method is "linking" to photo-sites. Please take a look here: Posting tips and etiquette
  16. Very fine, very cleverly built! Can't wait to see this ship being fully manned and setting sails! Custom guns are fine too. As far as I have understood there is no limit to the number of pictures that you can include in your post. And all of your pictures make perfect sense in depicting your creation.
  17. Fine, fine - keep going! Blue anchor is a bit strange but ok. I could not figure out what the figurehead is supposed to be - any clues?
  18. Fine island. Monkey and fish in water are especially noted!
  19. Excellent - very fine interior, very good details!
  20. First picture is the best - great build and great atmosphere. However, the mini-battle is also pretty good - excellent work overall
  21. Long live the Scarlet Magnolia!
  22. Very fine work, poor mummies...
  23. What can I say but: fine forced perspective!
