  1. I almost forgot to say thanks to my scumbuddies. Sorry, guys! While they managed to die before I did, one thing I learnt is to heed the advice of the more experienced players. Fred suggested I kill Zakura on night 3, but I was too scared to go near him because I had poked him so often in thread. Also Tammo had a gut feeling about DarthPotato, even though we had ruled him out as blocker, investigator or vigilante.
  2. My gut was telling me that wasn't a random assignment! I must admit, there were a few times when I wanted to take that personality quirk a lot further than I did.
  3. Congrats to Town! Thanks for a great game, Trumpet and Hinckley. I really liked the CMF spirits concept. Didn't like the bumblebee suit, but I had a blast!
  4. There's an lot of inspiration to be found in the amazing layouts that others have created. I think the Town board here has an index that includes layouts as well as individual buildings. There's also the image hosting sites, such as flickr, Brickshelf and MOCpages. Something with small modular buildings might be a good start if you have a lot of grey because you can hide much of the greys in the side walls and then have some variation in colour on the front facades. Commercial buildings work in grey as well.
  5. And still no PR from anyone explaining the charges against me. I could prove myself if there was something to defend against. At this stage, the town block has given me nothing to work with. Why not a single specific question in response to my last post? Because there is nothing. What have I done to hurt the town? I've done nothing but try and weed out those that I think are scum. We've gotten three scum so far because of Laurence, not because of the supposedly well-formed town block we have. Don't forget that our vig killed Juliet last night. I didn't think she was scum. And they have started today's lynch of a vanilla townie on baseless accusations. When I flip town tomorrow morning, I suggest you take a long hard look at who's in this "trusted" town block. Maybe you should start now, starting with the person who suggested Juliet would be a good kill.
  6. This looks great! I especially like how you have done the windows on the first floor, with the brick thing. I imagine your modular version would look fantastic in a layout as a row of townhouses. Actually, I think I like it better than the official main model, but then I tend to have a bias towards modulars.
  7. Our trusted town block haven't come back to me yet on the specifics of what makes them think I'm scum. I understand why - I haven't done anything scummy to point at because I'm not scum. I haven't had to lie or be dodgy. Everything I've said is my honest opinion on what has happened. If I sound a little short, it's probably because I'm starting to get a bit annoyed that I am being incorrectly accused, with no evidence provided against me. Anyway, the time spent waiting for something hasn't been wasted. I've gone through everything from day 1 onwards again and tried to find something that might have led to me being on the chopping block today. I'm not going to go through everything I said because that's all there for everyone to read and make their own call on. I'll instead focus on those things where someone might consider there's a gap. Day 1: I poked Tybalt for his early suspicion on Rosie because I thought it odd that he would raise something that, to me, was obviously Rosie just role-playing with her hairbrush. Both Paris and Tybalt came back to me asking me if I considered myself the be-all-end-all of reads. These were Paris' words, but Tybalt's were to the same effect. I didn't respond to either of those because I thought it was stupid to suggest that I would think that. I didn't think either of their comments needed a response. I voted for Brittney for pretty much the same reasons as everyone else. I can see how that might be considered middle of the road, but isn't everyone else who voted for the same reasons "middle of the road" also? They were valid reasons, and Brittney was the scummiest looking on Day 1. In that same post, I raise Janice, Benvolio and Amanda as other potential suspects. I don't vote for any of them at this stage because they haven't had a chance to explain themselves and I didn't think I'd have another chance to post before the day ended. In an earlier life, I voted for someone for not coming back to defend themselves and felt awful about it. I like to give people a chance before voting for them. Day 2: I was on Eric's list that he shared with everyone . He had me at 55% scum, along with a lot of other people at 55% or higher. I didn't feel a need to respond to this because I also had pretty much everyone on the "might be scum" side of the list at that stage. I would have been more surprised if he had only a few people he considered might be scum. There was also some discussion around Rocky on Day 2. I didn't contribute to that discussion because I didn't have a read on him one way or the other at that stage. I realise now too that I didn't state whether or not I had received the PM from Laurence. I didn't get one, but I didn't think much of it at the time because Laurence and I have never really spoken before. I am not a big user of PMs because I never know who to trust in the early stages, and prefer to raise my suspicions publicly. Being vanilla, I haven't had a reason to PM anyone here. Day 3: Benvolio lists a number of points why he thinks I'm suspicious. My gut feel is that this is a OMGUS response to me saying earlier that, just because he has Melanie's confidence, doesn't mean he's cleared . I addressed each of his flawed arguments . I thought his half-baked apology and back-track was in itself scummy, but I didn't respond to it because I thought everyone would see it for what it was, especially since I wasn't the only one that he did this to. There was a lot of discussion around Abraham that I didn't contribute to. I didn't weigh in on that discussion because part of me felt that he was being targetted just for being on Laurence's list. I didn't actually believe that Laurence could have gotten 3 out of 3 right based purely on Day 1 observations. No-one's that good. Despite what I said above about not generally voting for someone without giving them a chance, I did vote for Abraham even though he never came back. If I recall correctly, he was on-line for parts of that day. The clincher for me (as I stated in-thread ), was his choice of CMF and Melanie pointing out how different it was to everyone else's. These are the things where I think I may not explained my reasons or rationale fully during the days. Let me know if there is something else that I've said or done that makes you suspicious of me. I'm happy to answer any questions. Actually, I would love to have some specific questions to address because I am really clutching at straws here. As I don't have a PR and there's still plenty of townies left, lynching me won't be the end of the world. Given there's likely only one scum left, possibly two, it's likely that we'll win anyway. It will, however, be a wasted lynch. I still believe that Amanda is likely to be scum and would be a better choice for the lynch today. I'd like to hear why no-one else thinks so. Or, as in my case, a vanilla townie telling the truth. I can see why you're pissed off with me. My little role-play about the snot-nosed kids reading better than you probably rubbed you up the wrong way. But that's all it was - just role-play.
  8. I would have contacted Melanie already if I was a PR. I'm just a vanilla townie. I understand that guilty until proven innocent is part of this game of life, but something more specific to defend myself against would be nice. Rocky was given an opportunity to prove his towniness because he was questioned about the specifics of what he said. I don't have the benefit of knowing what the NA results are other than what's shared here. Can you PM me some of your reasoning if you don't want to publish it for everyone to see? In the meantime, I guess I'll be pulling together what I can to prove I'm town.
  9. Sorry guys for not coming back earlier to respond. An extra bus-load of kids turned up and I had to read a lot more books than normal, which meant I was exhausted once I had finished and pretty much just had a quick bite to eat and then crashed for a long nap. I'd appreciate if someone could share this with me so that I know what I am defending myself against. Until this, the votes for me seem to be based on being middle ground, having not said much and gut feel. I'm not sure where this is coming from as I have shared my suspicions on who I think is scum and added my views on other discussions. I'd appreciate those considering jumping on the bandwagon to actually read my contributions first. I'm happy to answer any questions. Also, for the many reasons that I have already stated today and previous days, my vote goes to Amanda. Vote: Amanda Lazaro (PsyKater)
  10. This looks fantastic and very true to the real one. Love it!
  11. The house overall looks great, but the roof is definitely the stand out feature!
  12. I don't think you stepped up either. Yes, you made a few more posts: the colour-coded voting analysis (where you suggested that it didn't really tell us anything), and the WIFOM arguments that I found confusing to say the least. Good point. Although I note that you and Romeo haven't been confirmed as town. Interesting to note that Amanda didn't say anything about in her voting analysis yesterday about those who hadn't voted for Brittney on day 1. It makes sense that at least one scum didn't vote for Brittney. You made a number of posts before your vote, which incidentally was the next vote after the majority had been reached. So, you uhm'd and ah'd until Abraham's fate was pretty much sealed. While I wouldn't put it past Paris to bus two scum buddies, I do think it is unlikely that she would have done so. I'm inclined to believe that Rocky is town rather than scum. I don't understand why you brought up the possibility of these roles (other than godfather) given we have been told it's a simple game and we haven't had anything to suggest to date that we have any of these more advanced or non-standard roles. Also, where are Eric and Rosie today?
  13. In case you're wondering why the chicken suit today, it's because I'm ... SUPERCHICKEN. My logo is a giant drumstick as I crush scum to death between my super thighs.
  14. It was an odd choice for a lie, but it's another scum down, so great result whatever the reason he had. I'd forgotten how itchy this stupid chicken suit is. Guess it's worth it for smiles on the kiddies.
  15. As always, I'm amazed by the level of detail that can be captured at this scale. Well done!
  16. Very nice! I like the little birdhouse too.
  17. This is stunning! I love the curved wall, the steeply pitched roof and how you've done the pine trees. Very true to the real building as well. Well done!
  18. To me, the Alien Avenger sits in a grey zone between good guys and bad guys. Given we don't have an SK or other third parties, it's not one of the monsters revealed already or shown in the comics, and Melanie's assessment that all the others were very innocent characters, all suggest that Abraham was lying about his CMF spirit. What bugs me about this though is that it seems likely a really dumb choice if you're going to lie about your CMF. However, the fact that he hasn't come back to defend himself against the accusations made (before or after the reveal) seals this vote for me. Vote: Abraham Petruzzi (Fred Daniel Yam)
  19. This is what I'd like to see from you - more of your own analysis and opinions on who you believe to be suspicious. At the moment, it looks like you're trying to fly under the radar. I don't really see how Janice's post [post 29 on Day 2] makes her "pretty set against Paris". Janice herself thinks it was a "witty quip": I agree with Rosie that this wasn't exactly aggressive. And we don't know why Laurence would have told her more than anyone else. Unfortunately, we don't have anything we can verify this with. However, at that stage it was well-known that Laurence had sent out that message to a number of people and, of the three that were on the list, Paris was the most vocal. Looks to me like Janice was distancing herself from Paris in case it went further. I haven't said much about Abraham so far, as I felt a little like he was under the hammer just for being on Laurence's list. However, I agree he has generally been unhelpful and I've noticed he's not responding to the accusations against him. In order of your points above: Janice wasn't the only one on my radar on Day 1. In post 46, I asked where you where and also had a poke at Tybalt for going after Rosie for what I thought was a pretty obvious conversation with her hairbrush. I also said I wanted to hear from those who hadn't said much in post 51. In post 105, I call out Janice for not contributing much, as well as Amanda and yourself. I thought the vote by Amanda was scummy because it came out of the blue, with little analysis. The bit about not being scum was in reference to Melanie. As for sticking to my guns, I've brought up Janice and Amanda each day so far because these two are high on my list of suspects. I thought Laurence was probably meta-killed because he was the scum's first kill and there wasn't eany obvious reason from Laurence's posts to suggest he would be a good target for them. At that time, there was no certainty around who had done the kill, but being night 1 and only one kill, it was most likely scum who had done the killing. Given the lack of anything concrete to go on, why would it have been anything other than a metakill? You've misread my comment about Melanie's confidence. Melanie is someone I feel I can trust because she has been cleared, so having her confidence is a good thing. The fact that she is fairly certain you are town makes me want to believe you are town. Having said that, you haven't been cleared. Having someone's confidence doesn't mean you are 100% cleared in my books. I remember back in school there was this new girl Alison, who came in dressed as a goth and acting all tough. Then she flipped and became all apologetic. I told my good friend Clare at the time not to trust this girl. Turns out Alison was a mole for a gang that was trying to infiltrate our school. [This is not a meta-game on you per se, but more a general point that I am always conscious of moles] My little germ-infested snot-noses can read better than you do. That reminds me, I think they're waiting downstairs for story-time.
  20. I see you have Melanie's confidence already, but I'll wait till you're cleared (or you convince me otherwise) before before I take your word for who you are. Although I don't necessarily agree with Margret's conclusion that you are scummy, I do agree that you've contributed little to date. You're not the only one and she has been on my radar since day 1 . As you've said she has hardly provided any analysis or views of substance, and has instead provided one-liners in support of what others have said. Like this one: She wasn't the only one to readily agree to the analysis presented on Benvolio, but I think it's representative of how she's acted to date. I highly doubt you were the only one who remembered. You're just the first person to mention it today and you were the third post. The real question though is why you felt a need to mention this. It's hardly a claim to being helpful. Nice deflection too. Between Janice and Benvolio, I put Janice ahead in the list of more likely to be scum. The other person that I think we haven't heard enough from is Amanda. There haven't been a lot of posts from her to analyse, but this one stood out for me because I thought it was convenient how she said that Carlisa was never on her list. Scum already know who town is, so revealing who's been cleared won't give them that much more information. It also helps those of us who are not part of the town block with our analysis. I had a question mark next to Melanie's name before she was cleared because I thought some her behaviour was leaning towards scummy. I now know not to waste my time analysing that to death.
  21. Two scumbags down is great! I'm also glad that Melanie has been cleared. I still had a question mark against her name, especially after how she reacted to the news from Alicia.
  22. Thanks for another comprehensive and entertaining review, WhiteFang! The grandma has to be my favourite, the cat is just too adorable.
  23. This looks great! I particularly like how you've done the hitching for the horses.
