MOC: "Rahi Rex" (Working name)
DraikNova replied to ZeldaTheSwordsman's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Then I'd recommend that you change the direction the hands face. The hands should face inwards, not downwards. Hands facing downwards is called pronation, and only mammals can do that. Also, small, but not overstated wings would be a good idea, since most related dinosaurs had small wings. Something like this would be how I'd do it, given more-or-less the same parts (LDD doesn't have Gali's hooks, so I had to use a few parts to imitate them): -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Lance's Double-Lance Cruiser. I see LEGO's department of redundancy department has gotten a bigger budget, I see. Clay has a falcon-themed vehicle, so animal motifs as vehicles are confirmed. And the Combo Nexo Powers sound like some sort of blind bag thing like collectible minifigures. -
MOC: "Rahi Rex" (Working name)

Do you want to make it a weird 50's style monster? Or do you want to make it reasonably accurate, while still in the Bionicle G1 style? What sort of criticism I have to offer kind of depends on what your intentions with this build were/are. -

Yeah, the only thing they changed was the kind of raptor. -
Ultimate Macy. Definitely.

I actually just cut some cloth to make the wings. They're intended to mimic pterosaur wings in terms of structure. Wasn't G2 pretty much the result of Makuta being jealous of how much Okoto's citizens loved Ekimu's masks?
-
Coming in at over 600 pieces (approximately 85% CCBS, 12.5% Technic and 2.5% System) and 55 cm (1 foot 10 inches) tall is my Makuta contest entry! He features two sets of wings, a Mask of Ultimate Power with adjustable facial expressions, a traditional villainous cape, ten tentacular tendrils and the stability of a Hero Factory 2.0 figure. Furthermore, his 70 cm (2 feet 4 inches) wingspan can fold up behind his cape to act as an extension of said cape. As you can see, he towers over any other CCBS figure. Even Grievous only comes up to his waist. Anyway, his gallery contains many more pictures showing off his various features.

Where to find a Black Noble Kanohi Rau?
DraikNova replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Bricklink and a paint shop. I doubt any option will get there on time, but if you just go for any Kanohi Rau, then use spray paint (or better yet, look up a tutorial on how to paint parts), then you'll be able to find the nearest seller and get it to you as quickly as possible. -
On one hand, the building techniques used here are ridiculously impressive. On the other hand, I'm not sure how appropriate having a large cuttlefish for a head is to Makuta's character .Sorry, that's just all I could see when I looked at the mask build.

Too bad, but kinda expected. I hope there's a successor that further explores the possibilities of the Mixel joint system. Maybe a line centered around mechs. Didn't know Ninjago got cancelled again.
-
Assuming that we're getting more constraction extensions of other themes, and that Ninjago is still going to remain devoid of them, and since we know Nexo Knights won't be getting them next year...I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Elves ended up with constraction sets. After all, legally speaking, the only line separating "action figures" from "dolls" is whether they depict humans. To be honest, I would definitely buy Elves figures, since glorious recolors would be guaranteed.

This sort of discussion belongs in the "Future Constraction Lines" topic, doesn't it?

Little mini-dragon mecha for macy, perhaps? Although, considering the fact that parts of the season 2 finale have been leaked, I do wonder how accurate this list is. -
Nexo Knights 2017 Rumors and Discussion
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Personally, I'm imagining that the knights will all be $15. except for Axl, who will probably be $20. If they release $10 sets, they'll probably be squirebots or the replacements for globlins. I do hope they'll release ones for the villains as well, although that'd probably be inevitable. I'm guessing that Jestro will probably be $20 or $25 (to accomodate for his cape and scepter), while Ruina will probably be in the same price range.- 16 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
DraikNova replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Considering that the presence of constraction Nexo Knights was confirmed by by one of the Bionicle team ("If we make a new shell, it has to fit in with Nexo Knights, for example."), I think it's safe to say there will be constraction Nexo Knights. As such, I'm making a new topic for it. Hope the moderators approve. -
So, , one of the Bionicle team members accidentally confirmed that Nexo Knights would have a constraction presence ("If we make a new shell, it has to fit in with Nexo Knights, for example."), which is further corroborated by the leaked set names for Nexo Knights including "Action" versions of normal characters. The following "Action" sets have been confirmed for winter 2017: 70363 Action Macy 70364 Action Aaron 70365 Action Axl 70366 Action Lance Furthermore, a comic depicting the creation of such action figures in-universe was present in a recent LEGO magazine (credit to Logan), which may give us an idea of how these figures will look. All in all, seems like there's plenty of reason to open a topic to discuss this, and I hope the moderators approve of my decision to do so. So, time to start speculating!

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DraikNova replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Someone decided to post spoilers for the last episode of the second season. So, based on that, here are my conclusions. -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
DraikNova replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, Ninjago only really took off in its second year (resulting in LEGO being unready to continue it and the gap necessitating the Rebooted series), so I'd wait until then to make my prediction, to be honest. -
Having just gotten him. I actually like him a lot. He's relatively big, the articulation is better than expected, the weird neck is far less noticeable than reviews indicate, and, in general, he appears to be Toxic Reapa's bigger brother. 8/10 in terms of parts, 9/10 in terms of stickers (two stickers, but extremely easy to apply perfectly), 7.5/10 for build and 7 for looks. So a 31.5/40 in total, or a 7.9/10.

No, it'd be a regular mace, but it'd simply be close to the ground by default, sweeping upwards. A chain variation that starts high up could be done using the same mechanism, but pressing a lever that's low enough to the ground for that to work would be a lot more difficult to press. Here's the mechanism: You simply press the lever forwards, causing the lever beam to push against the suspension piece. You then position the mech so that the mace at the end of the lever is in front of your target. The spring's force is then released when you remove your finger from the lever, causing the mace to move forward with said force, hitting your target.
-
Yup, pull the lever back against the direction of the spring, release it, and watch any figures in the mace's path go flying.

Lavaria's Mini Magma Mecha

That's supposed to represent the slightly translucent abdomen that beetle grubs have.- 15 replies

Lavaria's Mini Magma Mecha
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The little gun is being held by a beetle grub. I figured, if Lavaria likes beetles enough to have beetle magic and now a beetle mech, she probably would like a pet beetle as well. I couldn't really do a very good job approximating a beetle grub at this scale, though. vs- 15 replies

Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a spring-loaded version.

Lavaria's Mini Magma Mecha
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Sorry, here are some more, clearer images: As for Lavaria's ultimate, she has LEGO's standard solution for making multi-legged minifigs plus a bracket supporting wings, with the power "beetle bomb" indicating what this is supposed to represent.- 15 replies
