  1. I usually feel that structures can't really be done justice at conventional pricepoints, while vehicles almost always can be. I mean, this year's castle is so small that its donjon is almost a third as wide as the walls, and that's at a $120 pricepoint.
  2. I'm don't understand why everyone wants structures so badly. Personally, I just want a decent-sized set for Macy, and some big monster sets (besides the final monster of the year). I mean, the knights usually get the majority of the sets, and take up most of the higher price points, so having some bigger monster sets would help make Monstrox's army seem less hopelessly outmatched by the knights.
  3. It's a giant V shape that is raised significantly over the shoulders, with a lot of space between the shoulder joint and the actual piece but almost no space for the knights to turn their heads.
  4. Okay, while I wasn't sold on the vampire-like monsters initially, their alternate faces are lovely in their bug-eyed-ness. And I wouldn't be surprised if this was intended to be literal bug-eyed-ness, given how spider-y they look. Their new armor and modified shield piece look pretty nice too. Too bad that the new knight's armor looks so chima-y though. Personally, I'm hoping Monstrox takes a form that resembles his original, but significantly larger and with technology meshed into it in a somewhat random manner, in a pattern like decay on a zombie.
  5. It looks completely different from Axl's vehicle though. The vehicle from the poster is fairly short, to the point that Axl's vehicle is almost twice as tall. In addition, the detailing on the non-tread part of the poster vehicle is very different from what's visible on Axl's vehicle, and the treads on the poster vehicle are a completely different shape. I'm highly doubtful that poster version was even a prototype design for Axl's vehicle, let alone the same design that's visible in the catalog.
  6. Speaking of that particular poster/concept art, I'm hoping that giant tank tread thing in that screenshot will turn out to be part of a vehicle for Macy. A big tracked vehicle feels like it would fit her pretty well.
  7. Look at Aaron's vehicle. Robin is off to the side. You can recognize him by the helmet. Given that they seem to be moving towards sci-fi with a castle footnote, maybe some sort of spinning mace tank could work.
  8. Loving the look of all of these. Not sure if the translucent villain color is neon green or Atlantis green, it looks the most like the latter to me. The Berserker Bomber is pretty much my dream Blacktron vehicle (let's admit it, it's basically a modern version of 6981 Aerial Intruder), but I'm sad to see Macy getting the least of all the heroes once again. The Twinfector is gloriously tron-y and has some really nice shaping. Too bad it uses those power miners wheels. I have so many of those that I've really grown to hate them. Not sure what to think of Lance's vehicle, which appears to be some sort of hover-jousting vehicle. At least it's an interesting and pretty reasonable and surprisingly unexplored concept. The spider minifigure in that set uses rather bad-looking pieces for the legs, though, somewhat ruining the look, so meh. I kinda wish LEGO would introduce a specialist, more in-scale with minifigures themselves, part or group of 2-3 parts for spider-bodied minifigures. They crop up so often that seems kind of like an obvious thing to do, especially given how often minor, once-off characters get entire specialized and complicated molds to themselves. Aaron's flyer seems nice, but the blades seem very small and the obvious bike-dropping function seems very out of place due to its wheels sticking out. They're not even the right shape to give the impression of jet boosters. At least the villain mini-flyer looks stylish with what appear to be the superhero bolt pieces decorating it; not sure about the corrupted bot yet. The mech seems to suffer from being forced to accomodate the anatomy of the smaller mech, with those dinky little arms sticking out. The one open segment of the tri-shield looks very out of place, too. I like the sword-railgun thing, though, and the combined shield and blaster looks fairly decent, actually. I'm hoping that's not actually Monstrox 2.0, though, because while it seems likely, it's going to be really underwhelming if LEGO doesn't bother to produce a decent model of his final form, as they have done with every big ninjago threat to date (Great Devourer or Overlord Dragon anyone?) Axl's tank is pretty boring-looking, but it looks like it'll have a lot of functions, like a less visually impressive but more functional Vermin Vaporizer, such as the mini-vehicle releasing function, the tool storage on the side (incidentally, I'm liking the use of tr. orange Bouldron bodies as the tread axles), and the dual cannons, and if the dual cockpits are any indication, presumably the middle section will detach as a flyer. Again, the little flyer is pretty nice looking. I'm interested in seeing how it fires off the little ant things. I find it difficult to comment on Jestro's redesign without seeing the finalized thing, though. Actually, no one else seems to have mentioned the ant things. I for one really wonder if those are intended to be white in the final product or if they're an unfinished mold or both. At least there appear to be some in every set, unlike with previous villains (seriously, the number of globlins we got was pathetic). Here's hoping they'll also make some varieties and make a battle pack with a lot of them in it. Bonus points if they somehow add app integration to them.
  9. That's just a cropped version of one of Legozebra's pictures, specifically this one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/legozebra/36251209293/.
  10. Personally, I'm more interested in the weird shark-like face visible on the left side of the picture showing the Piranha. I wonder if that'll be an exclusive set.
  11. Huh. Ok. At this point, there are just too many trusted sources of leaked information on this site for me to keep track of, to be honest.
  12. I'm going to guess and say that these leaks have a 50% chance of being fake, 25% of being about slime/poison monsters, 20% of being about insectile monsters and 5% chance of being the swamp-themed plant and fungus villains we saw. Although, if these villains turn out to be black along with that really dark green, I hope they have a brighter secondary and maybe even tertiary color to compensate for having dark primary and translucent colors. Preferably an unusual color combination. Otherwise they'll be kind of boring relatively speaking, given the brighter color schemes of the year 1 and 2 villains. Maybe a blue shade for the secondary and yellow for the tertiary? That'd look nice, and it'd be kind of fitting if these are indeed insect/generic arthropod-thing that is insistently referred to as a bug-themed, given that there are some real insects with a color scheme like that. For example, a kind of cuckoo wasp:
  13. Garmadon's Mech Shark is pretty damn good looking. Nice and angular, exactly my preferred aesthetic for mechs. That and the dragon are the only two things from this wave I'm more than 50% certain I'll buy.
  14. I initially thought Nya was going to be plain black, so I'm glad to see she's got gunmetal as her primary color instead. It's not much, but it's still a nice visual distinction.
  15. On one hand, these all look very awkward in terms of shaping, and the dragon is kind of underwhelming, especially in regards to the level of detail of the head. On the other hand, that dragon is ridiculously cute. It's like a dorky little ceratosaur. And all that sand green is definitely worth it. I also like the lion dogs in the temple of the ultimate ultimate weapon.
  16. I use watchcartoonsonline.eu
  17. Am I the only one weirded out by all these people who don't like this year's villain's purple and grey color scheme? Purple is such a nice color (yes, I know anyone who has read any of my posts already knows of that opinion of mine), and one of the rarest in LEGO sets; it's nice to get some in relatively large amounts for once.
  18. Does anyone who lives in the Netherlands have Power Plant and/or Daring Deliverance? Here's what I have available: 1x Water Dragon 1x Ice Dragon 1x Jungle Dragon 1x Lightning Dragon 3x Hawk Holler 1x Anvil of Trouble 2x Spirit Fox 3x Silver Pegasus 2x Touchdown 3x Pinball Magician 2x Veil of Conceilment 1x Force Field 1x Raging Rally 1x Thunder Blaze 3x Metal Minotaur 2x Time Breach 2x Toad 1x Mightiness 1x Swiss Cheese 1x Sparrow Tornado 1x Blast Mask 1x Serpent of Anti Virus 1x Mouse Trap 1x Dynamighty 1x Banana Bombs 1x Whirlwind 1x Chicken Power 1x Magnetize
  19. Same. I'm still missing the one shield I'm really looking for because I want to use it in a MOC (Power Plant). Depending on where you live, trading might be an option. This thread here was made for it, but there's been next to no activity.
  20. I'm wondering whether Macy's dragon being so small was a last-minute decision; the version in the show is not only larger, which would be normal, but uses some very different pieces. For example, the windshield in the show uses a curved windshield instead of a straight one, has skids instead of feet, and has a wrecking ball/mace on its tail (the shield being on its back). Regardless, I definitely know how I'm modding mine.
  21. To be honest, the main reason I'm doubting its quality at all is the fact that, at the current rate of Monty Python quotation, the final battle will probably end with all the forces involved being arrested. Although, as far as resolutions go, that'd actually be the best anticlimax I've seen in a long time.
  22. Gotta say, I'm loving these episodes. The writers are really doing a good job. Not just with worldbuilding details, like the legend of the three brothers, but there's followup on things from the previous season and everything. Right now, I think it might even surpass Ninjago: Rise of the Snakes, which was probably the best season of Ninjago.
  23. Having watched the new episodes, I think I like this season better than the first two. Here's hoping they manage to phase out Macy's occasional moments of hyper-concernedness that don't mesh well with the rest of her characterization by the fourth season.
  24. Personally, I'm hoping Macy at least gets a really big, like $80 or larger, vehicle in 2018. She's gotten the smallest hero vehicle of the year twice in a row, she'd better get something ridiculously huge and impressive the third year.
  25. I love the recolored purple version of the Ninjago sword for Krakenskull (or whatever his name is. His helmet is cool too), and the creature in Aaron's set looks absolutely amazing. The Colossus is impressive, and far more solidly built and less gappy than I expected from the prelims. Very nice. Axl's one is interesting, seemingly having a tank portion that can split off of it and some sort of scissor-axe action feature. The castle is kind of messy. Why the wooden, brown doors? The little siege vehicle and pillar/collumn monster are cool, and this is probably the best windscreen parts pack ever. The powers are underwhelming, although I like the robo-Merlok and the inclusion of one of the two squirebots that are actually characters in their own right. The Heligoyle is cool, and the harpy looks pretty nice too. Macy's dragon is underwhelming, and this brings me to a point that kind of bugs me. There are even fewer female characters in this years lineup than last year, and Macy, despite being one of the main characters continuously gets only the smallest vehicles. For crying out loud, the only female characters included in the castle are a pig and a statue. And I'm still kind of confused why every action theme is given a predominantly male cast. It's kind of blatantly sexist, and it makes no sense even from a business point of view. Little boys don't care about the gender of the characters, they care about how destructive the character or their vehicles are, both in terms of play and in-story, and constantly making every lineup predominantly male excludes little girls, which means arbitrarily cutting your profits in half. That last point wouldn't even be a big deal for a series with a mostly male cast if at least some other themes had a mostly female cast to make the fact that a particular theme has a mostly male cast just a coincidence rather than an issue. I can't exactly find the right phrasing, but I mean that the characters just happen to be male rather than that being thought of as the default.
