  1. amazing, best turntable I have seen, so flat
  2. nice one, brings back some memories, you really got the van captured very well in a small package, and the steering is excellent, would build this to show the kids if I thought they would have any idea what the A-Team was
  3. Nice idea, I like to see mine so they are all over my office not great. I really need to get some proper shelf's up and display them properly. i can see how this solution stops the sun bleaching them and the dust getting all over the place.
  4. funny, I really miss the old boxes as well, not sure it was just the wonder of a young boy or just a better way to present the product, I liked the way the new or special pieces received special treatment in their own plastic tray, oh well the good old days I guess. I like building sets as Lego designed then, changing them up and creating things from scratch, so to me Lego is the perfect building medium, however you look at it
  5. so easy to do, all the old sets were 4.5V which is 3 batteries, you have a cracking model by the way, the 8043 was the first fully studless set I bought after by dark ages (not including mindstorms).
  6. I would be amazed if they have taken it out, it's not expensive to have and now it has direct support for IOS so I think this will be achieved with integrated not add on chips.
  7. I Hope the screen is better, the current NXT is quite hard to read in lots of light conditions
  8. Thanks Mark, the instructions are very clear as well. Kieran
  9. When I was young I had a flying helicopter toy that had a pivoting boom, on one end was the heli and the other a counter weight. The controls allowed you to throttle the main motor to gain height and rotate the boom to move forward or backward. not real flight but was fun and allowed the toy to get up a fair bit of speed, this sort of assisted flight will defiantly be possible with pure Lego, just a shame that real flight will not, not with that is currently available anyway.
  10. The old ones feel very different, much smother and not like silicone at all, not sure what they were made of but its not the same. The wall is also thicker
  11. don't see why not, I guess the main issue will be getting the wheels to work with the non l-Gauge track. There are loads of examples of people creating custom drive solutions using PF, including some to mimic the old Monorail system from Lego. like this one http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77105
  12. see no reason why not, would be amazed if they did not create backward comparability on things like the message boxes of the BT implementation
  13. What's the build time for a straight section on average now you have made quite a few?
  14. That seems to be the general thoughts, in the mean time take a look at http://www.mindsensors.com/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=107 or http://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=NIL1046 both will allow you to control your existing PF stuff via the IR receiver from your NXT
  15. SNOT front end looks amazing, very cool build
  16. there are a few NXT to PF-IR sensors, using this you can send commands to the IR receivers to make the motor s do what you like? would that work for you
  17. Have to agree, the time will come when this is common place, i think its a good while off yet though, sure you can print with off the shelf colours gut getting the exact match that would be needed colour and finish wise is not right round the corner, not at hobby rates anyway. If you like the wheel and think you could use it then I would say keep it and show off a finished MOC once you are happy, else sell them on and get something that is more in keeping with the things you like to make, either way good luck
  18. very well thought out, complex systems in small packs, and all off one motor, well done indeed
  19. I second that, when I filially get a fixed layout this is what i am aiming for, lots of little details that make the whole look so good, nice work
  20. I guess you mean free HD space and not RAM? anyway for me the best solution is NXC and you can code using the excellent BricxCC editor http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/ best bit is its all free and you dont even need to change the firmware on the NXT meaning you can still play about with GUI from the LEGO CD if you need to, have fun
  21. I think Jopie|K is talking about this page http://www.philohome.com/
  22. Which cable did you use for the conversation? the PF servo needs both a permanent 9V supply and a switch voltage on the C1,C2 lines of the PF cable.
  23. I would also like to know which motor? a link would be good
  24. That central steering is really nice, very simple in the gear train but looks to be very strong, very good performance on the truck
