I got about 70% of this set in a job lot I bought a few months ago, since then i sold on most of the bits like the code pilot its self, looks like I may have made a mistake, looks good and fun to set-up and play with, a but like half way between the control centre of old and the first Robot inverter sets. Nice review

Makorol's GBC
kieran replied to Makorol's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
or the battery box is quite hard to switch off without pressing the button for the other direction, juts for a millisecond, this may be enough to produce the breaking effect? Really nice lift, how is the lift attached to the chain links? love the smoothness of the whole system looks great in red and black as well- 28 replies

would like to see a picture of that, what a good idea for an unusual piece of furniture. -
so you need one of these 6637 and some of these x165 8 is the max to see it in action search around for set number 8480

Car project
kieran replied to Lipko's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think fake is a normal term in this instance, I have wondered about the term before as well but it just one of those that has entered normal use and most people know what it means. The engine looks enormous for the size of car, in real life i could see this being quite a quick vehicle, nice work looking forward to more -
That's just begging to have extra auto features added like lowing the wings via remote control, and possibly adding the 9V fibre options to the rockers like in the space shuttle of old, nice work looks great

good news I think, will look even better with a more genital slope to the ramp, I guess this is the reason you need to extend? -
Hey, nice work would like to know how this works in practice with the loco bouncing around for a hour or two, let us know after christmas
-
thanks for the offer, the only bits i am missing is the old style train track, I have plenty of the 9V style but not the separate rails and it looks like i will need a fair few. Do you also need the connector plates or do the old rails snap onto regular plates

amazing, all that from one motor -
I keep watching this and know the kids would love something similar. I may have to look at building one over the Christmas break, looks a lot of fun, I know they would love a crash as well

9398 Faulty Parts
kieran replied to 750ACE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Lego service is your best bet, in the past when I have had parts break they always replace them, i would look up the number for the country you live in and give them a call -
Mental, what was that ever used for. very odd design and i agree building from LEGO bricks would be a challenge
-
Nice work, defiantly makes me think of a Christmas slay.

Garden Railways - A Lego Layout in the Garden? Is She Nuts?
kieran replied to Locomotive Annie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Had the plastic gone brittle at all? was the piece left laying on the surface or was it berried in the earth/under a plant pot type of situation -

Ferris Wheel: Lego GBC module
kieran replied to nxtstep101's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I guess what I was asking is does the wheel break apart by its self over time, the structure is very light weight, which looks amazing, but does this mean that connections come apart if left running for several hours? -

That's a good test, what would be great is if you could record the experiment, say a photo a week from now till then. This could then serve as a guide for any one else thinking of this type of layout
