  1. It would seem odd to go through the full design process for 42051, and then cancel it. I'm holding out for its inclusion for H2.
  2. Great job. I love the blue and yellow. Do you have a better picture of the driveline, particularly how the rear two axles are connected?
  3. You could also use a liftarm based steering like in this Feller. Instructions are posted as well. I'm finding much of the planning for the A model is based on what will be in the B model.
  4. You might save some room by only having one mLA for the steering. At this scale you may only need one to turn the Grader.
  5. The wing function is pretty cool. I think the B model part of the contest will be difficult for many of the participants.
  6. Fun. Can you scale it up at all to add some more functions?
  7. I think I am finally getting ideas down on paper. A calculator has been attached to my hip for the last couple of days making sure my dimensions will be under 10,000 cubic studs. This is so much fun already.
  8. Thanks again for the review. I am not sold on this one yet, but I confess it took about 2 years for me to finally appreciate 9396. Maybe I need to see this in person.
  9. As others have said, I am pleasantly surprised with this set. The colors look great. I think it's great that the gearbox parts are in a (relatively) inexpensive set. This is great for persons who are new to Technic, and teach young persons some simple functions. For us MOCers the new, and diverse parts are great.
  10. Yeah, the size thing is making my head spin.
  11. This is a great contest. I like the restrictions of the cubic studs, the requirement of the B model, and the manual functions requirement. I think this will create some creative builds, and force many of us builders outside of our comfort zone.
  12. Note quite, it uses 32184 for the axle mount.
  13. Shoot. I have a lot of interest in 42051, but it's also the set we have very little knowledge about at this point.
  14. Do we have confirmation that 42051 and 42052 are H1 sets?
  15. Use the arrows on the bottom to find more pictures.
  16. There are pictures in the links. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Hydroplane-Racer-42045
  17. The Display Team Jet is kindof cute, and the little prop alternative model is even more cute. The Hydroplane looks great from behind, and the alternative model has a little boxer motor. Nice.
  18. I'd like to think so, but we haven't really seen more of the bright green, so maybe, or maybe not.
  19. I did not use Differentials due to the space, as independent suspension was my first priority. I think I can make it work with a floating setup like my 8081 RT, but that may be a couple of MOCs from now.
  20. Correct, but I use three motors rather than two different ratios.
  21. The video link is posted above. Thanks. I took it apart already as I was ready to be done with this project. Feel free to take a swing at it, and let me know what you came up with. It's not quite that complicated. Basically think of it as three motors all spinning in the same direction; one for each gear. When you turn on each motor, it increases the speed applied to the wheels. Think of it this way; take any LEGO vehicle with a fake motor and a differential connected to two wheels. Turn one wheel while holding the other stationary, and note the speed of the fake motor (half the speed of your wheel rotation). Now spin both wheels in the same direction, and the fake motor will spin faster (the same speed as both wheels). The allroad uses this concept twice by having three motors (e.g. wheels) move through two differentials to the drive axle (e.g. fake motor).
