  1. Thanks, I took the idea from @zux. OK, the chassis is about done. The engine connects to the rear axle, then slides into the monocoque. Here is the profile with the attached front splitter and draft 1 of the rear wing.
  2. Here is draft one of the engine. It slides right into the back of the Monocoque.
  3. I am going to try and build this fun little car. Are you able to post a picture of the underside?
  4. Super! I hope I don’t disappoint. The engine and rear axle are almost done. Working on the bodywork now.
  5. This looks great. The proportions are just right, and I like the minimal bodywork. Looking forward to a complete exhaust.
  6. Thanks again for another contest. It's great to see a lot of participation, and a lot of creative ideas. I enjoy contests with a size constraints, so it was just a matter of time before I came up with something. I am a big fan LMP race cars, particularly those open cockpit cars of the early aughts. I also very much enjoy some of the early 90s cars as well; the Peugoet 905, Jaguar XJR-14, and Nissan R91 are a couple of my favorites. For this contest, I wanted to do design something that paid homage to these great Group C cars that were a high spot of endurance racing. I have a general idea of where the project will go, and I plan to have modular construction much like a real LMP car. Just in case the transmissions fails, I'll need to replace it so the 24hr race can continue. The car will have mid-mounted V8, steering with a HOG and steering wheel, and a removable bodywork. We'll see what else. I have started with a monocoque, and it's pretty close to where I want it. Here we go!
  7. Black. Always black. I am finding on my build that the difference of one stud is significant. Both in difficulty and importance for the overall bodywork. I am happy this change will help you lower the hood, because the engine is worth keeping. My collection is also in my office. It’s making for distracted meetings for me.
  8. Looks great. I love the idea used for the caster wheels on the cart. I have used the airplane nose wheels before, but I think this is a better solution. Maybe you should place the engine in the bed of the pickup so you can admire it.
  9. I agree. Keep the clean lines. The antenna as HOG is perfect.
  10. Glad you like it. I think I am with you. I'll switch back to the 56mm tires, and scale the trailer down a little bit. Made a simple disk plow for the rear.
  11. You're right. I'll keep at it, but I may set it aside for a little bit. This whole TC18 is distracting me a lot right now. Waiting for your SUV as well, so keep it up.
  12. The 355 is my favorite mid-engined Ferrari, so this is looking good. The proportions are nice, so I am interested to see how you are able to clean up the final draft. Keep it up.
  13. Oooo, I like the use of those seat panels for the front hood.
  14. Well it was in my mind . But if I need to go back to the drawing board, I guess I can.
  15. OK, so the Atmos tractor is done. As is often my problem, now I am off to the implements. First, I made a little plow, which, since I cannot seem to come up with a good plow shape on my own, here is a versions of @mpj's great little design. I think it works well. The hooklift trailer is done. I still need a couple of parts for the dumpster, but the trailer is done. Features pneumatic lift and dumpster lock. Finally, here is the state of the forestry trailer. I scaled it up, and I am not sure if it's too much. Thoughts?
  16. So I think I am ready to be done with this project. It's not perfect, but it's where I would like it to be. I'll do one more sweep and replace a couple of errant parts, but it's about there. I'll make other changes as suggested, but I need that new diff out of this truck so I can do a TC18 project. I'll post more pictures and a video this weekend.
  17. Well done. I like the variation on the theme here. The bodywork is a nice variation, as you can tell it's 8081 but takes it in another direction. It's fast too!
  18. @steph77 had a good little idea for a mini flat engine. Take a look here, and see if it can be helpful.
  19. I am OK with adding tire 15413 as it fits the feel of 44309 and 30699, but that’s about it for me. But I like having narrow constraints.
  20. I agree. It looks sharp and clean. Keep up the good work @Seasider
  21. Thanks @Jim, this will be a great contest, and right up my alley. I like contests with sharp constraints, so now I'll start building. It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!
