  1. Thanks blackdeathgr!
  2. A very unique looking fort there KB, the white turned out really nice! I also love Captain G's interior with the different shades of blue!
  3. Thanks Ayrlego! The stud gaps are created by putting the SNOT bricks a stud behind the wall and then using a brick instead of a plate (or two plates and a tile). It's kind of funny that it works and I can see how it might not work at all for some people, but I like the unusual bit of texture! Thanks Mister Phes, I'm enjoying the recognition! Thank you! My last fort was about half the size, so maybe my next one will be twice as big!
  4. Enjoying the humor of this series! Also a good use for those pieces with the red brick stickers! And I like the piano... I almost thought that whoever didn't do their homework would be forced to play a solo.
  5. Like I said on Flickr, your use of arches here is really good - in fact the entire chimney section looks great, especially the shield. And are those old style books for the chairs? I think that's a golden hairpiece under the mantel too, isn't it?
  6. I already commented on Flickr but I have to add that sitting here and trying to figure out the internals of that double headed orc is a treat! And I find myself wishing that the horns showed a muscle bulge but that was certainly a very creative solution and probably a colossal pain to pose.
  7. Each picture links to a 1000-someodd version and the very first one is also on Flickr at the original (3000+) size.
  8. Thanks Faladrin, I'm honored! Thank you! I shared a few pictures from while I was building it on my blog (link in the first post). I used hinge plates for the first angle and then then those vertical hinge bricks for the next angle. The hard part was building something the right shape to go on top of it! How dare you contemplate destroying my beautiful fort! Thanks Bart! Thank you! Thanks Aine! The round bricks under the arches aren't attached to the main structure, but they're attached to each other and also on the left side have a couple 1x4 plates which build into the wall over the door and keep them very snuggly in place. On the other hand the fishing platform falls over if you touch it.
  9. Such a peaceful looking vignette - as others have said, the choice of colors sets a lovely tone. Nice use of loose round plates for gravel too. Good to see you building again!
  10. Thanks! Yes, I realized as I was building that a couple good cannon shots would reduce the garrison here to tatters but Salida Este has always been more about looks. I was roughly following an image of a real-life fort that had something a little similar, but I shrunk the footprint and made the amount of cover even smaller. And yeah, I was going for a bit of a cracked look to the stone wall, but I guess it doesn't quite work for everyone... and neither does the light aqua apparently. And I just realized that you can't see my beautifully incorporated sideways slopes built into the wall from any of these shots! Ugh! I hate it when I build something brilliant and it doesn't show up on camera. Thanks Bodi! That tower is an unattached crumbling pain and to top it off I decided to sit a minifigure on it.
  11. Thank you! And I agree, official green torsos would be awesome! Thanks Fraunces! Yeah, I wasn't in story-writing mode I guess, the build will have to tell it's own story. Thank you! Thanks Blackbird! I'm pretty excited for the pirate bay set myself, hopefully it does well and we can get a pirate theme again! Oh, someone who appreciates my pain... Man those things are tough! Thanks! Thanks KotZ! By all means give it a try - it looks really nice and isn't hard to attach! Thank you Ross!
  12. I've been promising my fellow MCTCers a fort for a long, long time. But at last, here she be! I hurry to say that the brick separator roof was @Garmadon's idea. Credit where credit is due and I'd hate for Captain Nordau to feel like I'd robbed his designs. But on the other hand, I don't recall him crediting me for those lamp posts he totally ripped right off my desk... As you can see, this fort is totally ready for a prolonged siege by any number of Class 10 pirate ships. No false front here. And it was nice to have this one wall going straight up. Fortunately the soldiers here are able to get their hands on a newspaper or two once or twice a year. So the angled stuff was actually pretty complex, but I'm very happy with the end result. And always happy to show off my light aqua... ...and my light yellow... I tried to go detailed in keeping with my previous Salida Este MOCs. Would have been nice to use some vibrant coral somewhere but I stuck with the pastel colors. Anyway, now we in Salida Este can finally rest secure. Maybe... C&C welcome! Edit: Forgot to mention that there's a build log on my blog.
  13. This MOC is honored. Here's a tutorial on the floating cobblestone that might explain what I was talking about.
  14. The large crew made me chuckle. Looking forward to the next lesson!
  15. And I appreciate the front page too!
  16. Thanks Faladrin!
  17. Ah yes, doors... you should have gone for an even number of studs if you didn't want gaps. Another way to avoid that is to make the doors close behind the wall - handy if you want an arch. Nice way to attach them though, good solution to center them relative to the gap. And speaking of the gap, it's probably period appropriate. Very nice roof!
  18. Hooray for Commodore Argentum! This should give me some fun story material. I'm feeling like you guys got the results out faster than usual. Well done!
  19. Magnificent scale, great job with the windows and the general layout. The glimpse of the interior is a treat too!
  20. Wonderful build, you did an amazing job with the white house! Fun story too, the interruption from the tavern about the taxes was hilarious. Cool layout for the dock and great job with the posing for the story!
  21. You are welcome to create your own settlement! There's still lots of unclaimed space in Kaliphlin.
  22. What size(s) do you need? Glad to reshape it. I was wondering about the dimensions in the first place, tbh, but just did as I was told.
