  1. Those books up there must contain super sensitive information not meant for anyone to read. The shelf design is nice though! Looking forward to seeing where this collab goes!
  2. That poor dolphin! (The Oleander on the other hand had it coming. ) A bit of CC - your pictures are all rotated at rather strange angles. This should be pretty easy to fix. I highly encourage you to take a look at the angles top-notch builders use to present their creations - take a look at the way Jonas Kramm presents his vignettes for instance.
  3. Those loose technic pins are a pretty interesting technique for water! Great idea, I'll have to see how it looks on a build of my own!
  4. I think this is one reason why feedback is stronger in the RPG forums than anywhere else. You can see a builder improve their MOCs over time, so there's some encouragement to continue commenting. Depending on building style, it's a little much for someone to update each build with suggested improvements. Sometimes my MOCs have been deconstructed before I even post pictures. Of course, if you're building for a convention or in order to keep it built for a while, you can make adjustments based on feedback. In general, I think it helps to comment on other people's builds. When people recognize you they'll have something to say about your work. This works better in a RPG than elsewhere I think, because in a RPG, the people building are the people providing feedback and vice versa (for the most part). So RPGs build a semi-permanent community that recognizes each other. In other forums, it seems to me like it's often not builders who do the commenting; builders sometimes just drop their MOCs and see what kind of reaction they get (no wonder there aren't many comments!). If a community could be built in each forum - builders going the extra mile to comment on each other's builds - that could help a lot, but it has to come from ground up. Individually you can also build up something of a commenter base, by building recognition. RPG forums are my main experience here and you have more commenters there to try to attract, and a higher level of permanency, but anyway, as you continue posting MOCs people start to recognize you and to become more comfortable especially with voicing criticism (as opposed to just quick praise) as they see how you respond to it. In a RPG generally your first build will get quite a few comments - several of them probably expressing criticism, how you react to those may be critical - then it'll drop off a little (depending on how good your building style is/how involved you are in contributing with comments for others), then if you continue to contribute (especially commenting on other builder's posts) it'll build back up in proportion as your MOCs improve. In the long run, we can complain about how other people are not commenting, but it doesn't make them comment. What we need to do is go comment ourselves. And comments do attract comments, so every little bit helps!

  7. This build is fairly simple, but still a pleasure to behold. I love how you did the pillars especially.
  8. Yeah, I think there'd also be some conflict as to who owns the BoBS concept and so forth. Besides, it's too diverse for a line of sets. But someone should do a pirate themed "world"!
  9. The olive looks beautiful! Great idea for a building too. Are those books on the camel's back? Whatever they are, the way you wrapped them up with a pair of nooses is pretty clever!
  10. Great build, the perfect amount of activity going on. Those curved tiles look so good, and even the pretty simple roof is really nice. A pleasure to behold like all of your MOCs!

  12. Love the colors and the log design on the fort walls. Looks like it was a fun creation to build!
  13. The combination of studs-up and sideways on the base of the sandcastle vig is lovely. Both varieties of palm trees are really nice too!
  14. It's a shame you can't play whatever you like. Turns the playabilty into a bit of a gimmick. But as a model, it's fantastic.
  15. Intense story, and a really cool serpent! I didn't mention it on Flickr, but I really like your snow with a bit at the bottom of the rock and then more at the top. It looks really good.
  16. Great integration of those awesome shields! I also really like the statue on top and those trees have a nice look of belonging to some species or other instead of just being trees (not being anything like a tree expert, I have no idea what kind of tree they resemble). But why are those soldierly looking minifigures completely unarmed?

  18. Nice to finally see this posted, I love the clever smuggling solution! The bright green and olive is also a fantastic combination which I'm filing away in my head for future reference.
  19. This is a great build, I really like the layout with three levels of roofs. The landscaping is also really nice, with the tiles and plates mixed subtly together. And of course lovely color for the roofs and the red shutters complement it well!

  21. I'm thinking about switching from Windows to a Chromebook - from what I understand I could run Stud.io (or any Windows program) on a Chromebook with the Linux program Wine. Is there a certain hardware level so to speak that I will be needing in order to run Stud.io? I don't know much about computer hardware but I mean in terms of processor, memory - is there a baseline that needs to be met for Stud.io through Wine to run smoothly? Or should basically any new laptop be able to do that?

  24. The head and neck are both really cool, so is the dynamic pose of the wings. Speaking of pose though, the way the dragon just - ends - looks a little strange. Maybe a slightly different angle, or raising part of the tail so it slowly curves down, would help there. Great idea to have a tan underbelly though!
