  1. In the bustling marketplaces of Barqa, where poor artisans and farmers from miles around gather to trade wares and stories, John and his son Martin work long hours in their modest outdoor space. It's a small start, but that doesn't keep these craftsmen from dreaming big and working hard. There's always lots going on at the market, farmers bringing in their livestock... ...customers inspecting merchandise... ...John touching up a stained bottle... ...and of course a brisk trade at the cheesemongers. This is the first part of a collab with @Eyrezer @jtooker and @RocketBoy. I had fun with this one, paid a lot of attention to the colors and composition. If you'd like to see some WIP pictures and read more about that process check out the behind the scenes on my blog! Thanks for stopping by, C&C welcome as always!
  2. I find the reflections cast by the light through those headlight bricks strangely intriguing. A really nice shot with great color composition, the blue makes the figure pop while the white and red tie into other parts of the photo, brilliant.
  3. Welcome to Eslandola! You have chosen well
  4. Really unique idea for the tree trunk here, I like the way the black works with the lavender. I would be interested to see this kind of tree in a larger scene.
  5. Impressive series of vignettes, I really like the variety of scenes you have put together. The inside of the tavern might be my favorite, lots of fun details like the mousetrap and chandelier.
  6. I really love the black tudor on the A part of the wall, great angles. The use of grey for the roof is also unique. I partly like it and partly think it looks dumb For what it's worth, I definitely think it looks dumb on the real cottage. I wonder what it would have looked like in the LEGO version if you'd done a less-textured look. Don't get me wrong, I love the texture, but it confuses what kind of material it's supposed to be, looks like thatch of an odd color. If it were smoother it'd probably look more like slate, but possibly also look uglier. It's a really cute cottage and I love the dense vegetation bunched up around it. The empty baseplate edges look fine IMO, looks like a stylistic decision to fade out the vegetation.
  7. Such a clever way to use only half the whale! Great little scene.
  8. I really like that bell! Simple but effective design. Intriguing story too.
  9. This is a simply fascinating tudor style! Would you mind if I someday take a stab at an imitation? (Not sure I'll ever get to it but I should like to try ) I'm not quite sold on the roof, but I really like the angles on the road.
  10. Congrats to the winners! Great to see some anticipation building for the new era.
  11. This is pretty funny and also kind of creepy! Great use of those weird colored fish and I really like the color of the swordfish on top!
  12. haha, this is pretty funny
  13. I really have to try out these cheese slope pillars sometime, they look so good! Great water technique too.
  14. I'm impressed by how chilly you made this scene look by wrapping all your minifigs up tightly! Great little crane too.
  15. The lights and moving gears in this are really fun, and I like the way it's framed by the ups and downs of the cave. Are we going to get a part 2? Because you seem to have left us hanging
  16. Evidently I intended to shoot a breakdown shot for you and never got to it It's much too late now, but if I recall correctly, it's got two of the standard bar clips in red for the body and legs (wings and a bandana fit snugly in there, with a 1x1 round plate with hole as a stopper + tail connection), and then the head is grey-red lipstick with another bar clip in black and a hand to attach the red "hair" piece.
  17. I have to imagine that the post is still there because it's not likely to have been deleted, but with that link being messed up, I have no idea how to find it.
  18. So many great terrain builds everyone, it was really fun to participate in this! I especially loved the bamboo forest and sonoran.
  19. What a beautiful wave! You make me hope for those 1x2 rounded parts in transparent colors, it works so well. Great curve on the sail too.
  20. I love this carriage, though it looks like maybe it should have an extra pair of horses! Great job conveying a windy feel with that hat blowing off his head too.
  21. A really dynamic build, the tentacles are so good and you chose a great color for them! Nice work on the catamaran too.
  22. I didn't realize these elves hair pieces went so well on minifigures! Really nice figs.
  23. soccerkid6 - 1 point jtooker - 1 point Tayaya - 1 point
  24. That cloud sheepskin is simply brilliant! Nice well design too and the duplo sheep is so funny
