  1. I love how this scene looks so pleasant and light... and then you see her face in the mirror Great subtle floor patterns and that window print looks simply amazing. An excellent little interior scene!
  2. That whip "roof" over the pen is pretty neat! I wonder how hard it'd be to build an entire hut like that... Fun storyline too
  3. The lights are such a good addition to this, they really bring it to life. I also love the bell tower and that dome technique. Blue flowers are the perfect dash of color too.
  4. Like I mentioned on Flickr, I just love that green! Very bold choice that works super well. Great textures on the stone too!
  5. The brushes sticking up out of the cracked dirt are great, as is that awning made out of latices and the wands for the counter front! In fact, all the details on this really shine, looks like it was fun to build!
  6. I really like that roof! The angle on the house is great too, as is the interior!
  7. So much activity! Love the rack of capes for sale, the flock of sheep, the monkey pulling the chicken's feathers... Great job too maintaining a dry Kaliphlin aesthetic but out in a more woody area.
  8. I'm loving the texture those incompletely attached tiles give! Really helps the rugged barn feel. Effective and realistic choice of colors for the mud too, and I always admire your skill with snowscaping! So much of this is near perfect, and it actually took me a while to realize what was bothering me about it--somehow it feels, on the main pictures, oddly closed in which has a suffocating effect given that you'd expect this to be out in a big open space. I'm not totally sure what gives it that feel--the shadow perhaps, showing that the paper its photographed on is quite close, or the close crop, or maybe it's because there really isn't much landscaping and no trees, or a combination of those things. Anyway, that's not really a criticism of the build as much as it is a wish you'd built more, another ten studs or so of landscaping in every direction would have been perfect to give the feel of being out in the Mitgardian wilds.
  9. I didn't think about them being birch trees, I agree green doesn't make sense in that case. Given how much snow there is here though, it didn't feel like a first snowfall to me, but then, I don't live in a snowy climate and I've rarely if ever seen it snow while fall colors are still around, so that's probably why it strikes me as odd! Certainly it look gorgeous in that picture
  10. I just love that little sled!! These tiny figures make for really fun enchanted forest people too. And the snow-covered foliage is quite well done, though I'm not totally sold on the yellow and light yellow, I think green would have felt more natural and maybe played better with the blue too. But those transparent ferns in the cave look so good!
  11. Great job keeping the same aesthetic as Aurore! I like the addition of a waterfall to differentiate yours and it's so sparkly and beautiful. Really nice carriage too, I love the curve along the sides!
  12. The black carriage really stands out against the light forest--as do the reddish horses. I'm trying to think whether I like that or not I think I do, but I wish there were more landscaping in front of the carriage to break it up a little. As happens with black, a lot of the detail gets lost in the photographs so I'm glad you included shots of just the carriage, it has some nice stuff going along the sides. Impressive that you managed to include an interior! I really like the rockwork style, though the shape of it feels square--and in general everything feels pretty much on grid throughout this build, with all the tree leaves being flat and the road straight most of the way. I think a bit of rock and maybe another tree in the front right corner would have helped break that up. Speaking of trees, the light and dark yellows are just beautiful and go so well with the olive and lime green!
  13. Congrats! That's exciting. Glad you found time to stop by and give us your thoughts too. A couple things I especially liked and will bring up in the court: Really good idea. Maybe the reward could be something along the lines of the BoBS cards. I wonder if we could have players nominate great MOCs, say quarterly, and then the GMs choose from that pool the ones that they think achieve the required quality, granting BoBS-cards like stat bonuses to the player. Size shouldn't matter, just effort and artistry. These extra high-quality MOCs could also be used to promote the game and could be featured somewhere special. Another idea I really like. As a line in the form for players to fill out, it shouldn't add to the GM workload and could make catching up a lot easier!
  14. Welcome to the guilds! To be honest, a lot of the guild-vs-guild competition has settled down and although every guild would love to have another builder, you just join the guild that you're excited to build for!
  15. Don't see why not, if you all can get along, that is!
  16. I really love those trees, great use of tooth pieces. The smoke is clever too. And of course, the color choices really stand out!
  17. Making piracy a vibrant part of Era III game play is a big priority. We're also looking to heighten potential for exploration. The goal is to give players more to do than just amass DBs and some fun ways to use what DBs players collect. And most importantly, we're trying to make every aspect of the game inspire building and storytelling. For factions--we're looking at solutions that aim to keep all the lore that we've built over the years, but consolidate the player base a little more so we don't have a bunch of tiny groups but are all building one world. At the same time, we're trying to structure it so players have freedom to make and break alliances with other players. So hopefully it will allow for player-created subdivisions that can change as player's stories change. I don't want to say too much while we're still hammering out details, but I think it's very much along the lines of what you all are suggesting. Keep up the discussion by all means though, it's helpful to see what everyone thinks about this and there are lots of good suggestions you all are making too, and some of them will surely show up in Era III.
  18. Really intriguing roof shape, I love how it gives the inn a unique look! Super clever use of parts on the bull's head too and I find the skeleton horse calmly parked in the stables very funny
  19. I really love this printed window. Goes great with the masonry bricks on the left wall!
  20. Two really clean and very different vignettes! Both of them do a great job capturing an atmosphere in a really small space, something you consistently excel at!
  21. Thanks for the offer, Evan may already have it all but if not we'll take you up on it when we get to that point!
  22. Even without the moderation tag we generally have that power. It's just that updating links and first pages is always hard to stay on top of. We are going to try to be coding a system that will automatically collect links of things like builds in a settlement, etc., which should hopefully help a lot with organization. Rules and stuff should all be one-time posts, so those should be easy to have in a master index as well. We are doing our best to make this low-maintenance so the court can have fun with the game too! Good point about the photos, we'll have to keep that in mind as we build the site where forms and such will be hosted.
  23. What a treat this whole calendar has been and this last one does not disappoint! Elegant sleigh, and funny tale of Frost unwillingness to leave!
