Yep! I don't understand why this link doesn't work anymore. You can find it here too: http://ldd.us.lego.com/fr-be/gallery/0b59b464-8d11-473c-a0af-4d79f890d9a7/?index=0 -
[REVIEW] 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS
steph77 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello, Always in my thoughts ..... Today BI analysis of the set. I recently stood my old 8865 and was surprised of the level of complexity of the assembly. You had to puzzle over how to run the components all the time. In the same idea, the proposed product is working perfectly after careful assembly and setup. On some older models you even had to clean the cylinders and finely adjust the camshaft for a chance to see the dummy engine running. And how happy you were when finally done ... In a sense it was an integral part of the concept #Lego technic I am surprised to see the number of negative reactions on the net to the fact that the friction appear at moment on the set. #Original Mind is lost I think. For me it's a source of motivation. I do not buy a finished product, but a model that I have to puzzle my head to make it work proprely ..... Question of perspective. Returning to the instructions. I regret today the simplistic appearance, became the norm, of the assembly instructions. Nevertheless, I must commend the TLC effort on the presentation and the interest thereof. I am part of today these dads who spend time with their (s) child (ren) .... and those who pass between the other on Lego toys. In this sense, I logically falls under the sway of Lego marketing. But not that all (since I post here). Critical thinking is there, but the #original passion too. In short this set has convinced me, perhaps for different reasons than the 'Apple' commercial marketing of TLC but satisfied nonetheless. Maybe you also elsewhere, Steph. -

@Jim: great review, fully documented and really plaisant to read. Great objectivity thougt. THANKS a LOT for your time passed writing it. @ blakbird. Tanks for spoting what's wrong with that transmision. You said at the end of your post that the chassis has a flexion point just in front of the gearbox. Can you confirm, when built, that this particuar point is ok? if not it could be another important source of friction. Thanks. -

Thanks. My kid do ove it too ;) -
Hi everybody, I take advantage of the relative calm pre-review of 42056 set to present a small Moc I realized by step. Intended to complement another Moc, it gradually evolved and I think deserves to be presented. This is a hotrod with pullback function. Its main function is logically the pullback function on the rear wheels, as required. The weight of the model (compared to the standard TLC) does not make them insane performance but is more than enough for fun. The Moc has open doors and a folding windshield, no controlled steering the wheel or gearbox or suspension .... It rolls and that's it. To spice it all, it has a nice big homemade V8, scale model requires. This engine has almost no friction and therefore does not interfere the function of pullback. In addition to a rate of 1: 1 relative to the front wheels, this engine has two cylinders movements against one for a standard motor. So we feel that this engine rotate very high . The engine sound is also intteresting, it adds a little more to the game experience. The frame is simply executed and in the spirit of the official sets Detail of homemade V8 engine @+

42056 - Porsche Speculation
steph77 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So now we have the confirmation of all features in this model. One thing hurts my eyes : no HOG. Ok it’s actually a reproduction but Zero playability for me. About the gearbox and the shifter : Sometimes i ask myself if TLG isn’t taking his inspiration directly out of the AFOL’s work. This shifter exist on mocs for about two years now….in exactly the same disposition and using about the same elements to achieve it… Whatever, this is a really cool set and a great design. -

Tow truck 8X2
steph77 replied to steph77's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everyone Today I would like to introduce supplements added to my towtruck. I'm always looking for new idea to provide my son safe and attractive games. In this idea, I try to turn this truck onto a REAL play-set. To do this I started from the simple idea that a towtruck must tow something. In locurrence here a hotrod. For the game need for its completeness, I used a pullback engine I coupled with a fake V6 engine. And then a car can also be towed on a flatbed...So do i. It took the form of a motorized trailer with a medium PFS motor and it's own BB There are two main functions in this trailer. The first is a lifting of the flatbed. This feature is complemented by ramps that descend automatically. a fully articulated assembly on the rear allows the trailer to be set up The second function is a winch provided with a clutch. These two functions are driven by a gearbox. For the rest : there is a car locking element on the flatbed, a jack which will reseat during the raising of the flatbed automatically, a spare wheel (always useful). The whole gives a true playset, very playable and offering multiple possibilities This is a real opportunity and a great pleasure to offer such games to his children ... Thank Lego Here is the video: enjoy -

hi, (salut clément :) ) thanks a lot for building one of my mocs A motorised support is a effective good idea. see the vid for mine. Did someone else build it? -
incredible job you've done here. One only thing hit my mind: i found that the speed of the functions (exepted the buckets rotation), are much too high for me. Your (masterpiece IMOH) Moc is spectacular but the too high speed of functions (particulary the touret rotation) make it less credible. Would it be possible to slow them down?

Uses for differentials
steph77 replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On this Moc : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109724&st=0 I use a differential to have a permanent alimentation of my fake engine. One entry for the rear axle, the second for the PF motor and the exit connected to the fake engine.... -

Done! Almost complete. just little adjustement due to (very little) stress on parts making them drawing impossible but the general idea is there. See in attachement... EDIT removed attachement file. Go to Mocpage to find it back -

hi all you'll find in attachement a first version of the LXF file with the model almost completed. All the rotor mecha is done. Somme parts are not fixed together but i am not a pro of that sotware Enjoy -

Coastguard Mini Helicopter
steph77 replied to steph77's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The advantage of the actual solution is that i have a stable and reliable construction for the swasplate. My goal with a no friction technic ball joint would be to place a soft spring on the uper part of the mast just apon the swashplate so the two parts of it would be in permanent contact.... I already thought about the driving ring extension part for it's slidin ablity but didn't find a way to articulate something aroud it -
Coastguard Mini Helicopter
steph77 replied to steph77's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thanks for your feedbak, all I love builing hellicopters, for a while, and this moc is a step forward in my work to perfect realism but ... it still does not have collective control (i know how it works remember my huey) Does someone know if the part i use to articulate the swashplate exist but without friction??? This could mean it is possible to build the same one + collective control -
Coastguard Mini Helicopter
steph77 replied to steph77's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you for your feedback! I must say that the top position of the joystik isn't the best one. I'll try to move it at the rear of the aicraft I will look on a second model to see how to arrange all this, it will also clear the space inside the cabin. Moving the rear controls will be favorable for this. Otherwise I advanced on design. On the program: addition of turbines, some details like the refueling boom and projector. I also have completely revised the driving compass and geometry of the rotor head to find a balance in rotation (eternal problem of lego helicopters: it vibrates). Now it's almost perfect. In photos: That's for now, for the first version I find it not too bad. There is the potential on this Moc and at that level there ...;) -
