To build this model i just buy official small sets... Those sets are a source of lots of usefull small pieces:) And what about the pick-a-brick program of tlc? -

I have checked my ldd file and update it here: http://www.moc-pages.../moc.php/430516 - The red 3L axles represents the new black 3l pins with crosshead. - I place the parts free in front of there fnal place and update the whole neccesary parts as best as i can. -The ball joints are for the doors linkages (2) and one (1) for the gearbox link. -The four 12L flex have been updated and their mout point correctly drawn - I grouped the pars of the windscreen , and the 2 blue half bushes (you can use other color) are in the left wheel house assembly (correctly done one the right side of the model) -The 3L grey axe is at the base f th windscreen -The 5L grey axle is in the engine assembly EDIT:make sure to have this file : [Porsche 919 hybrid checked ind b] -

If only TLC had relesed the new panels element in grey color this could be the result (photoshop editing) -

the weel hub is secured by a 3L pin with no friction place by the exterior of the H-frame on the top. on e lower part the hub is inserted with a single no-friction pin. The lack in the pièces is suffisant to place it without any exeeding force :) -

This is exactly that. I do not use any shiffter in it too. I simply use a knob wheel as ‘HOG’ this solution offers exactly the same feeling than a lever and is more compact, reliable and fun to use. I had never to forget that i build moc destinated to my children that play with it. This car must be at the same time solid and simple to use. I finished the rear end, following your advises. I’am pretty satisfied of it. Here are the final pictures for this thread before i asked a friend of mine to take better pics with a professional camera for the contest entry. Thanks all for your attention and kind comments on it. I had a lot of fun to build this car and a strong motivation partially enforced by all of your interest. Time for going on holliday now, no more time for Mocing no more J Thanks ! Pictures : EDIT: I have a picture upside down and no way to rotate it (sorry) -

For the dimensions : Mine is 45*19*11 studs 42039 is 49*23*13 studs Even if the dimensions are quiet equivalents mine looks more compact due to 2 studs less wide and a global volume of the cockpit that is globaly less big. I also used shorter whells that fits better to my scale. I will change the rear wing and see …. Thanks -

Work still in progress I worked on the rear end actually and i finaly have this design. The back hood opens in one and only piece wich is a neat feature for playability but less for design L I asked myself a long time what was the better solution. Finally i decided that playability had to be respected at max (this car is actually not mine anymore, my son play with it all the time) I post a comparaison size pic to illustrate the compactness of the car. I also reverse some gearing into the gearbox but th’s all detail at this time All comment, are welcome especially on the rear wing that doesnt’t still convicts me (i use my whole stock of panels so i had to do with my leftover white parts) Pictures : -

my custom design has two advantages: -The lower part of the engine is less wide than the lego one, so it can be placed a bit lower -The gear to connect to the gearbox is one stud more to the front of the car wich is appreciable due to the compactness of my gearbox design However i am still asking myself wich of both desing render the best ? -

I actually worked hard ont the gearbox and engine integration. Here is the result. the gearbox has 4 speed sequentially actionnated by the lateral knob. this solution is obvious at this scale and very performant. it's also 100% reliable. My system do not use any rubberband... The V4 engine by 90° is finaly custom made. nearly no friction in it and a design that fits well under the engine cover. Pictures: -

I will try to implement the pullback KERS on the front wheels. Not sure there will be enough space for it. I think to realise a ldd file for it, no instructions. I'll published it for free:) -

Actual WIP progress : I worked hardly on integrating the KERS system. Sadly, i failed due to weight of the car and due to the fact that when using gears between a pullback motor and final transmission doesn’t work proprely. So my thought at this point is simply removing this system. I’ll try to work on a centrifugal wheel in place of the pullback. The issue is that technology is from audi and toyota, in real life :( This said, i finalised the cockpit area with a simple mechanism for opening the doors, i locked the frame in all direction and adjust the direction system. I finaly used a pin joiner for HOG with a different gear setup that keep it very smooth. I also began the final setup of the gearbox wich will be a sequential 4 speed, as on 42056. But without any friction and a real high rotation setup (begin with a 24T/8t/20T/diff…) Pictures of the actual progress (my son build the back area but was too lasy to search proper color element, need to check this point) View of the cockpit area -

Hi, Current state of the WIP i finalised the front end. The whole trunk opensin one piece. Direction and embended steering Wheel are functional I also take out the 4WD. it generate friction and needed a central differential that took too much place. Actually i got a realistic cockpit with enough space for the pilot Still not satisfied on the lateral proportions, still lots off work on that point. V8 homemade engine as been exchanged by a standard 4 cylinders lego official engine - a think a better choice for a REBRICK contest, and more realistic here Back view satisfied me at this point. missing the rear end wing View of the opening trunk -

Hi eurobrikers, Here is what i am working on for this contest. This is a scaled model of the 919 hybrid LMP1 car. As you can see i worked it at a small scale. About 1/2 of the 42056... I try to implement great functions in it. -First is a modular building frame and a bodywork that can easy be removed -Second a sequential 4 speeds gearbox. I still ask myself for the lever. I have few solutions but i think, on this model and at this scale, that something very simple can be the best solution -Direction with HOG -Opening doors -4WD -Leveling system for pitstops -And, if possible du to weight, a reversible KERS system based on a pullback motor. Some pictures of the curent state of the WIP: Any comments are welcome! -

I got the official answer from REBRICK: RebrickAdmin @SR-77 Yes, that's completely allowed! There's no restriction on sharing your model elsewhere in this contest. Let's go or a wip topic! -
