1. So here, I spent a lot of time to consider installing larger wheels, but unfortunately this means rebuilt the Moc Then I went on the Mercedes website, and I could see that on the new Actros, the overall height of the truck is four stacked wheels. So I resumed my Moc and found that the wheels are far from being out of range, they are almost good, for against certain visual elements were not in their place, for example the upper space above the wheels, etc. . So I set out to change everything on the face and deleted elements above the cabin which has the effect of reducing its perceived height. I modified the design of the headlights making sure of compatibility with the lifting of the cabin whose simple kinematics is reinforced by the fact that it goes to the millimeter. Ditto for the wheel arches where I could increase the turning radius while maintaining clearances millimiters to the wheels. I think the result is satisfactory. Visually it's much better. At the back I replaced the 5X11panels by 3x11 panels that look better for the same reasons. Then I tried to perfect camber. Unfortunately I short white beam 13L to perfectly finish the sides. Finally, I took the idea of Pierrolego16. I turned the wheels (it is true that the star wheel for a truck ...). and, in the rim , a simple bush does well the job. Place to the photos: Overview or we can see the wheelhouses detached wheels and balanced design, The balance between the passages of BC and rear wheels is better too, modification of the rear arm, the main mat, and various retouching, Better integration of LEDs Cab kinematics and design compatible headlights Integrating LEDs This is a good patch design that balances things to me; what do you think?
2. Thanks. The LDD file is finished :1323 pièces preview: unfortunatly the file have 185ko so cannot be placed directly here :(
3. Finally, I managed to isolate the color schemes in LDD, here they are: Things should be clearer as well;) Red and TAN circuits are those of the PFS alimentation and fake engine. A chain is missing on the rear Top view bottom view
4. Need some colors, i think What do all theses gears? take a look @ the video:
5. Hi everyone, i make a LDD file off this Moc. Actually :1091 pièces for 31cm long, 10.5 wide and 14 high. some preview:
6. Thanks @ all for kinds returns. Here are some shots of modifications. Essentialy at design level.
7. Thanks. A vid is beeing posted in a few days giving more point of view of the Moc. Anyway, i try to get a 'cartoon design'. In this way, small wheels have a sens. That wheels are not the 42008's one even smaller (F1 pullback set). This Moc is very small :)
8. Hello everyone, I open this new topic to talk about my last Moc: a European towtruck 8X2 ... which has some special features;) That's the beast: http://imageshack.co...7705/Ulstoa.jpg Specifications? simple. -Make A truck, compact, with lots of features, playable. -A Reliable mechanical, without risk equipped with clutch (1) stop point, etc ... It is designed and destinated for my children -Make My son happy as a king when he spends hours with his friends towing everything imaginable I chose this scale for inventory reasons first, then because it's the scale that stuck best to the famous cars ta bo towned;) This Moc use 84 toothed parts (+/- 5 close;)), 4 driving rings , a single medium PFS motor and two sets of LEDs Motorized functions: -front winch -tilting cab Main crane: Lifting Main crane: extension Main crane: winch Rear stabilizers Secondary tow arm: lifting Secondary tow arm: lowering the towing plate -The Motor M drives the fake V4 engine via a differential -Leds Front and rear The manual features: -direction Via HOG on two axles with different angles -Opening doors -locking the Winch -fake engine connected to the rear wheels via two differentials, one for the axle itself, the other connected to the motor M (see below) The mechanical design is fairly standard in itself. The M motor drives the 4 gearboxes and the crown of the center differential itself connected to the fake engine. This design allows a rotation of the fake engine when the PFS is on, which is quite realistic. When you push the truck, the fake engine also rotates. There is no interaction between the two entries this means that rolling the truck is NOT powered. For the rest? Well lot of gears, Multiple intersections and not only axles! it had to go around linear actuators too! Finally? extra gameplay, an ultra fluid mechanics ( you can rotate the kinematic chain of each function from their arrival until the BV effortlessly by hand!) Two other photos waiting to get my good camera and .. the sun and a video that certainly brighten things;) http://imageshack.co...8197/g2nXPT.jpg http://imageshack.co...5432/ErF752.jpg
9. hi great job you've done there. I have buld some years ago a UH-1 replica and i really want to view more about your rotor setup. Specialy the mixing commands betwen collective and cyclic controls. Great design thought.
10. I like the whole truck, really impressive. But but the engine(s) area wow!
11. It is the suspension system. The springs are connected to the pushrods. The suspension used this geometry to convert a 3L articulated movement to a 2L ant thus offer even more rigidity to the spring. Thanks for your comment.
12. Thanks @ all for your comments on it. More pics comming soon of that car from every angle as soon as they are fully uploded @ imageshack Ok here are the extra pictures https://imageshack.com/a/Lmk4/1 Enjoy. Steph
13. Hi all, This is my LMP1 for this 27th contest @ Techlug. The theme here was immediately inspired by my disappointment with the official set, I wanted to propose a new design approach for this model. Building a LMP1 is innovate, propose different solutions, sometimes radical and especially innovative. Translated into lego, I wanted to reproduce this spirit of innovation and research while providing a model that fits in the tags of the competition. This spirit of innovation is supported by a brand today. Audi. It is this spirit alone that I kept throughout the design process of the model. For the design level, and although the car is fully home without special inspiration. Instead, technical constraints have guided the implementation of design and vice versa. So what was the specifications that I imposed on myself? First, LMP1 design this as a true self in the category. To have walked the stalls of Spa Francorchamps in the last rounds of the WEC, one thing strikes, once the car to the pits, it's the inner beauty of these cathedrals mechanical (to quote Nico). The technology is exposed! Second, all these cars are built around a survival cell that protects the driver, while being hyper light. Third, and here I speak lego, no question of sticking lift function of unfortunate end bodywork or other idiocy of totally useless genre. A great supercar (and in my view a LMP1 remains the absolute queen of supercars) well it must have supercar's functions and nothing else In terms of function there will therefore be: Independent -Suspensions V8-motor Open -Portières Removable cover module sequential 4-speed gearbox full AWD ability but disassembled for this presentation ( competition rules) Quick lifting -System for pitstop, because it must also be a play set for my son Good. How is therefore designed this car? The edge of the frame. It is made like my 997. Either a bottom row of beams, a top chord and triangulations in three planes to stiffen. The result is there, the chassis frame twists hardly, self simply rolls on three wheels whatever the wheel you remove ... The use of the top chord of the other cockpit pass between the center pillar of the windshield, and the shark fin (which ultimately is a structural reinforcement) offers a immediate advantage : a frame which is a pin ... high. This allows parts substancial economy. The position of the four main triangulations connecting the frame to the front and rear axles serve as support to the pushrod suspensions by one hand and the fixed angle of the cockpit canopy. I can get a nice rounded so, but find this angle there was really complicated! The survival cell then receives the gearbox stick and the seat (left of the car) a dummy steering wheel and dashboard are outlined. Note that the sequential control box does not use any unusual or special item, a single knob and two bionicle teeth do the job. For the engine, standard V8 + red intake manifold and manifold glowing in the upper part for cooling. Regarding the design of the body relative to the survival cell, I opted for the all beams rather than flex, or worse, a mix of both. I was already trying to flex on a smaller scale Moc, I haven't been convinced by that half empty spaces between flex, so I took the opposite party. The design of the car is from sketches that I could do and that dictated me a course of action, a posture. So I chose a high nose, so F1 2012, very marked pontoons central bubble aggressive lines, much like frowning. The aim is to give a general impression to the model without necessarily the (over) carrosser from A to Z. Some more photos: I welcome any questions you have on this model. Sincerely, Steph
14. Dude! Great job integrating so much functions in such a small scale. Great job. it's a litle sad for the tipping mecha getting all the content of the tip on the lifting mechanism. Steph.
15. Hi, If you are interresed i realise a full set of chinook mixing comand. This is the most challenging part of the Moc for sure. Here is the vid: and here is apic of what i arrived finally by compressing at max the command system at this page (the system doesn't allow me to post directely here?) http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/topic6224-15.html?hilit=chinook
16. hi, Superb job. I'm glad to see you join the club of those who have managed to achieve a functional helicopter. And what a helicopter! The coaxial dual rotor is probably one of the most difficult to reproduce. It is of course at the cost of a very large proportion of mechanical versus reality, but hats off! The next step is a CH47 :)
17. You can make it using the principe of my tail rotor here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=68431 Or like my latest plane here:
18. Hi everybody, This is the second truck i would like to present here. Initialy, this was designed for the french forum TECHLUG challenge ' with or wihout motor' We had to design a model Under 1100 pièces, that can fit with the additional PFS set of TLC. The conception had to be so close as possible of an official set. So here was my entry, the little brother of my ampliroll truck, but great whatever due to its functions and playability. Enjoy!
19. Thanks for all those good returns on my Moc! To answer the questions: Yes, it is possible to tilt the container enough for make it empty (when opening the backdors) but no specify mechanism for it The maximum wheight liftable is 840 gr, included container @phybuilder, i know the pièces 'pin 3L' in black. I have a few of them. But they are not produced anymore ad i try working based on today possibilities Regards Steph.
20. Hi everyone! Here is my latest moc : an ampliroll truck. It features - 4 axles - 2 front axles are directionals with differents angles, - V6 fake engine connected via 24T/8T on rear axle (1) - Opening elements on the cab - Liftable cab - PFS M motor for lifting the container The particular point is in the opposite mecanical actuators working in 2 differents directions to increase the angle of the boom. All of that is in the video: Enjoy!
21. Hi, I really appreciate your work ont that rotor head. From my experience your idea higlight some problems. First, your swashplate is unequilibrated so that the compas linking swashplate and rotor mast will generate vibrations Second, that same linkage will generate to much friction while incorporating the assembly with a full commands linkage system At last, the utilisation of a turntable generates a swashplate where the under and upper linkage are not int the same geometrical plane While you'll inclinate the swashpalte, a lateral displacement will be generated. The upper swashplate's center of rotation will not be aligned anymore with the rotor mast. That will also generate lots of vibrations. That same geometrical issue will also generate bigger angles for the connector between the blades that the swashplate will not be abble to accept. EDIT : (While max collective and cyclic movement will be combined) Whatever, this topic shows that lego are not only bricks :) Good continuation steph.
22. Hi, I have no words... Exeptionnaly i'll express it in my own language, "Je suis père de deux enfants. Je ne peux prétendre ne fusse que comprendre votre peine. Puisse dieu vous aider à passer cette épreuve. Vous avez mon profond soutien en ces moments difficile, Même vu de l'autre côté de cette planète, un père ne devrait jamais voir s'en aller ses enfants. Courage." And it's google translate: I am the father of two children. I can not claim if only to understand your sentence. May god help you pass this test. You have my strong support in these difficult times, Even seen the other side of the planet, a father should never see her children go. courage
23. Hi everybody, Here is my contribution at JFAIR theme : a seaplane built few weeks ago for a contest at techlug. The whole Moc is manual, it features: -Propeller pitch control, -full pitch, yaw and roll control, -Flaps -flat twin engine, -steerable, retractable and suspended front wheels, -working rudders, -opening doors -Folding wings Hope you'll enjoy it :)
24. Pleased to see it has been usefull Hmmm, what are you working on, this time?
