  1. Agreed with Jurss. If you do not links the two suspention arms this Will not résist. I realy appréciate and looks forwards to this project
  2. I understood you. This rear rotor was very complicated to design. And it results in effective weird angles. ...but it works ☺ Realy impatient for first results of your work. I planed to build your and also jonathan édition as a second moc?
  3. This mod is in the spirit of original build. OK for me :) Tricky parts? I realy do not see what you mean. Lol...
  4. Previous was best i think. I am afraid this one will be cracking at the level of the 3 black 12T double bevel gear? It would be usefull to test it under charge of the rotor head as some torque pass through this gearing.
  5. I think that this is the best solution. This will result with the suppression of the two litlle panels at the rear but it's acceptable for me. Great job!
  6. Good question. Jonathan as done changes that makes some of my assembly more 'official like build'. He worked hard and keep the build his personality however design looks a little bit less 'agressive' wich is a good thing in a sense. In this mind spirit, i think all his changes can be integrated. The fact he integrated the new gearbox elements is a must have too. For motorisation it's another story. Originaly i build it in order to avoid any stress on the Medium motor and avoiding any 'cracking' gearing . My XL motor is dead actually and i cannot test this version unfotunately. If it work proprely, wy not after all. On the other hand medium motor is the most usual one, XL is quiet rare part... As this Moc is turning onto a community driven project i believe you can go on with this XL proposition :) After that, any builder who will test it is free to adapt and play with his own model to realise it exactly as he want and expect. That would be exactly what it is intended to (have fun) Steph. EDIT: any opinion is welcome on this point. Milan?, Jeroen? how would you answer this question from your particular point of view?
  7. Hey! Cool render! what do you use to achieve this kind of pictures?
  8. Thanks for your work guys, Maybe @Ivan_M can post pictures of the elements that needs to be rotated so i can also think the best way to realise the right ordered instructions?
  9. This is a proposition by @JonathanM on the AW169 topic. You could use the center hub and modify the gun barrels by standard 6 holes pulley? The blade is fixed by the 3L grey axles. EDIT: You can also use this design combined with the Wheel hub collective controls:
  10. Hello, I felt very honored when I see your build. Thanks for that, Looking at the mods I found its a very interesting approach you had. And the red color with black chassis is also a great looking thing. It is cool to see that not only you built it but also you improved it. This makes sense to publish here my Moc and work. Looking at your mods: About the motor reduction I used the 2X 12T/20T in order to keep enough torque in any circumstances. I understand that it frustrating to see it spin so low but I had to make compromise on it. Good point in the use of the new gearbox elements, all mine are actually used in my recycle truck, so I had to do with older parts. I understand the sense of building it's command with liftarms, I will modify mine with this great improvement. For the bigger wheels, why not?, not still sure of what thinking about that :) And finally about the stressed panel of the nose, I must admit that your solution seems very good. In my building idea, the central support under the panels was stiffing the superstructure. Isn't it to weak like this? No big deformation of the front part? Again, thanks
  11. Hi Jeroen, Good jo until now. For the gearbox I would personally keep it simple and get place for other functions. I am sure your creativity will find a way to use this extra space
  12. Hi! De nada. I have build your alternate solution and it works pretty well excepted at the extreme level of both collective and cyclic. For me 99 % acceptable so OK :) As I do dot have the central piece in black, i'will keep my own design but yours can be apply as some peoples are building it at this time. Thanks! Hello Jonathan, I am curious about these modification for the modularity of the build ;) Any chance to get a picture of your build here? I am honored you take the time to build it. BTW, how many time for it? was my LDD complete?parts list was OK?
  13. I am clearly in the category of people building technics and who try to keep it aesthetic as well as they can. I am also one of those for whom the Holy Grail is to come with the perfect balanced Moc between one technics side and the other side aesthetics. At my knowledge, only very few people in the world can pretend to this. No name here, but we all know them. So whatever technics or aesthetics, in my opinion, it's always the balance between both of them who will blow my mind away. Only my opinion. Steph. EDIT: clearly, for me no split onto sub-forums it's a complete no-sense. I am also one of those who have register the technic and mindstorm topic listing as internet explorer home page ;)
  14. Maybe my design on this project (LDD file avalaible in download section) may help you? http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/432477
  15. Hi, Thanks for this design. i 'll try to test it current this week. EDIT: I have try some recoloring of the model Under LDD and in extended mode, so with no disponible color for some parts. The basic idea is to stop with bi-color design. Here it is:
  16. Hi Jonathan, I build your rotorhead proposition early this morning. I coupled you design with the resulting previous design of the moving part that support the blades. This one: And then, I placed in on your mount: and a second to have a closer look: And a front view to complete the serial: So, First at design level I really appreciate the width decreasing by 2 studs, and also a very enlighted design. I do not appreciate the final look of the gun barrel on the top as it seems to pop up of the rotor head. Maybe this parts does exist in black? Second, and finaly most important part: the technical data and dynamic test report: Whent tested on low collective mode the head runs perfectly smoothly so it was ok. Also it show it was sturdy enough for the use however it is significant less sturdy than the first design. But when increasing collective pitch (the swahplate goes up) it began to vibrate. I quickly understand that having the rotor head 1 stud shorter makes the articulation point of the liaison rod also one stud closer of the center. This was enough to create a conflict between the vertical rod (linking the swashplate) and the support of the next blade on the rotor head. I have tried to solve the problem by redesigning the blade support/moving rod liaison but I didn't find a way to make it work properly after about 2h working on it. I 'll keep your idea in mind .... Finally it will work properly, it always does. Thanks for your time. It is the swashplate coming from the set number 8856 I do not know the serial number of this part Steph.
  17. Great looking model and in medium size! witch is one of the best I find. Great design, Great job
  18. I do not think that a double back wheel is a must have. But your IR integrated day cab version definitively is. Thanks for ldd file.
  19. Simply love it. But why does Ferrari model need to be red. They are so much beautiful in black or yellow ;) Great job Jeroen. Ps still awaiting your F14 vid part two. (I have a little project in mind myself ;) )
  20. Thanks Milan, @Ivan_M here is the final ldd file : http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/443813 Really impatient to see the first results...
  21. Hi Ivan, I am so happy you propose to make real instruction for my Moc, thanks for that. I do modify my LDD file just now, i'll send it to you as soon as it is finished. This must not be long. As well, i'll follow your work an I am at your entire disposition for any information or eventual problems to solve. Again, a great thank you for it Thanks! The new rotor head is not larger than previous one as the base is exactly the same, butmaybe it looks like it is larger wich I consider is realy possible. The best think would be to drastically reduce this diameter but I didn't manage a good way to do it actulally. I am very interested in any proposition you could make in this research. Thanks for kind comment also... I know it's not good to quote pictures but in this case I found it was necessary. ( @Milan just make me know if I have to remove them) So, first I really appreciate you effort to propose a mod and all the work and time past to do it. They are only 2 parts at my knowledge who propose a 4 pins fixation. The 20T I used and this big wheel. unfortunately, I only have one available now as the second is used in another moc I do not want to take in pieces. The gain is only 0.5 stud, 1 in total width witch is however appreciable. I think the reflexion must still goes on for this point. I am pretty sure it's possible to reduce it more, but as always, I have to find the way, witch is another story... You are right, it's the main idea of this model : a demonstrator of flight controls. I just have to notice that the lateral control are ergonomics but not the top of realism (not in cockpit) and that this model does not provide the in cab commands. Anyway it is a good model for your kids .... Thanks! I really try to use very common parts except the swashpalte. Maybe @efferman could provide us some affordable custom printed parts for it? As Ivan proposed his help for instruction it could be a reality soon :)
  22. update time : Hi everybody, First of all thank you for your feedback and advice;) After some weeks on my shelf, I began to find that some things could have been better and I restart working on it :) So I reworked my model by small keys, here are the improvements: First of all, the upper part of the cabin reworked with panels placed more clearly and especially a bit further from the swashplate removing any conflict. The front carboy portion is made using the new right angle panels and is securely attached to the load-bearing structure of the helicopter. on the cabin head I added the safety cable cutter blade A closer look, the curvature of the flex gives a nice dynamic, the assemblies are simple but effective: what do you think? At the back is the revolution. At least in the structural part which is strongly reinforced. I also removed the gray beam between the two panels of the tail, made clean the fixing points and pivot. I say pivot because this rear part now opens with a real mechanism for the maintenance of the MOC (connecting rods and connectors of ball head, accessible control by opening the central door and on each side. The opening of the rear panels is nevertheless synchronized). It also gives a nice kinematic and offers a clear view on the mechanisms of the tail rotor and the winch. The red lamp at the anniversary commemorative coin rotates and is connected to the main drive shaft via a double reduction. Its rotation speed is slow enough. Laterally, the changes are less obvious, yet in reality, the curves of the cabin are much more fluid, this photo does not do them justice. Small addition also at the level of the front wheel of the landing gear which is now orientable and equipped with a projector (for the purpose of laying LEDs) The interior space has been optimized to the maximum to allow the installation of a seat on each side at the back and despite the massive presence of mechanics in this area. Finally a big job, even if it does not seem, was done on the rotor head itself. It integrates anecdotally the notion of gyroscopic precession on the one hand, but aesthetically especially, it is less bulky: a tenon of less height, retrieved by sliding cyclic control points laterally. Formerly they were connected by an arm at the top. The colors have also been standardized. More uniform design and less (a little less) massive: So? Better like this?
  23. hi, I love what I see so far. Just continue this way You just have to switch onto LDD extended mode and you'll find the parts. To do this: in the up menu, choose VIEW/NEW THEMES/LDD EXTENDED.... In this mode you can color each parts, included all part that are not present in standard mode, in any color you want.... Good work...
  24. I will probably be the only one... but after seeing the two sets i didn't find the Mack interresting anymore. I found a lack in design homogenity between the truck and the trailer and Nothing realy special in final for a set of this prize. Looking at the speed build i found it would be an interresting experience for the tractor truck, Nothing to see for the trailer. And, sorry, but for me it does not offer a great experience in playability... In opposition, the rally car, with it's colored colorsheme is much more appealing to me. Fun to build and fun to play with. Only my opinion...
