[WIP] [MOC] Kangaxx's tower (evil wizard). Need advice.
Nightstalker replied to alainphoto's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Adding some corpses or even lava would add to the evil look of this fortress. Keep up the good work! -
That has a really awesome color scheme!

changing hands or arms: likely to crack?
Nightstalker replied to Cloveapple's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I've found that a lot of the CMF parts or battle pack (example being the recent Castle line) parts are more prone to crack. As for all the other parts, I rarely run into that problem. -
Big Red, as he was called, had terrorized the land for long enough. As his lust for gold grew, mining spots and old forts that housed gold became frequent targets. The wyvern had earned his infamy, and was responsible for the disappearance of a portion of the land's wealth. Rather than letting him continue his devastation, Edorin Gwyn and Eleanor Renard set out to slay the beast at one of the old forts. They waited several days after leaving bait and riches strewn about the ruins. It had only been two and a half days before the beast arrived. Both of the knights were prepared. And so began the battle against Big Red... ----------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. I'm not dead yet, just in college! As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Nightstalker replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
@ Behemoth If you really want to show some of your building skill, I really recommend building 8x8 vignettes. Usually it gives you enough room to work on a particular technique, while at the same time it does not require tons of pieces. Just my $0.02. Anyways here is my last GoH build period: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98875 I figured I should kill off my character and wrap up what happens to my forces. Hope you all continue to build awesome MOC's! I'll always be somewhere in the Historic forum watching this guild's progress. Brick on Kaliphlin!!! -Nick -
Djun did not believe his captor when he said this was a battle he could not win. He had hit the golem with fierce wind spells and heavy sword strikes, but it had not budged. Between the fight, and the fierce heat of the nearby lava, his stamina was at its end. The golem grabbed him and held him up. Its lifeless face stared at the warrior for a minute. For once in his life, Djun could not fight back. The grip of the giant began to tighten. Bones began to break, and the warrior let out one final yell before his eyes faded to black. It had been nearly twenty minutes since the battle when the shinobi arrived. The magic essence they were tracking had disappeared. Whoever or whatever it was had left. To make matters worse, they found Djun's helmet and sword left behind. They feared for the worse, but without a body, they were never truly sure that he was dead. Whatever it was that did this, was not from this land; it came from home, which was never good news. If something followed their forces here, it was probably best to return home and deal with the threat, rather than letting it manifest itself in a land already at war. ---------------------------------------------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed my final GoH MOC. It has been a fun run, but I think it is time for me to go! I tried making a really jagged looking surface, and I think it turned out decently. I also attempted to make smaller pools of lava in the rocks by using cheese slopes. Let me know what you all think! As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

With the Queen's forces focused on Garheim, Edorin managed to make his way north. He was surprised to find that the Garheim soldier's were holding their own against these dark forces. Some mountain fortresses were still held, and Edorin found they were in need of assistance. With the aid of their commanding officer, Edorin managed to devise a plan to ambush the enemy reinforcements. If they could fight off many of these forces, they could hold out until more forces from the other lands arrived. Garheim was not going to be taken. With their forces now armed and eager to fight, the trap would go off without much of a problem. Needless to say, the Queen's forces did not stand much of a chance. Even with this small victory, everyone knew the war was far from over. -------------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. "An old mentor of mine had always told me that death would be a natural part of war. I remember him saying that despite the countless battles he had fought in, he never truly got use to it. Even with all the great tactics and combat experience, he always stated that there existed someone out there that was better than you; that's why he always forced all of his students in the School of War to practice frequently and why he drilled us so often." "From time to time, he and I debated the strategies used in previous battles as we relaxed at an aqueduct. Even in our greatest victories, we still could see flaws in the tactics. Some of those flaws could have saved countless lives, but sometimes the losses were necessary to ensure victory. Other times, we simply recounted tales of battle or adventure." "This war has claimed the lives of many..." "Sometimes, it feels as though we still talk, even if he is no longer here." ------------------------------------------------------ Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. While most siege weapons are great for taking down castle walls, the needle launcher works wonders in destroying infantry and boats. Each launcher is easily transported and can fire four dangerous needles that are made from the spikes of dragons. How it works remains a secret to the engineers of Ko-Sun. -------------- Additional Picture Hope you enjoyed the MOC. I simply had to make a catapult into a cool siege weapon. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

Indeed the second ninja (the one is black) is a friend to the white one. He just so happens to be running up the mountain while his friend is kicking the soldier off. I knew I should have listened to my bro when he pointed out the very same thing. As for the ledge, I wanted to make it a very narrow platform rather than give overhang. Thanks everyone for any comments/criticisms. They are much appreciated! - Nick

Magic Push - This one is pretty simple and I rather like the effect. It uses a transparent cord and the base of a droid STAP. Over different surfaces you can even add in different effects such as the movement of water, waves, or even rocks/trees being knocked aside. Telekinesis - I've seen multiple ways to make this, but I rather like this one. Using some trans-color cones you can show an object (or person for that matter) being lifted up. I tend to mix in some other 1x1 round plates to get a color variation. To also designate the caster, it also helps to add the same trans color as the cones in the caster's hand. Unfortunately, I don't have 1x1 trans-purple round plates available. Just a couple of extra ways to make you wizard/sorcerer/etc. have some different effects. Hope you enjoyed the MOC. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

My target gets closer and closer with each step. Infiltrating the welcoming party will be another task in and of itself, but for now the castle itself is not proving too difficult. My blade grows hungrier for blood; it shall soon be nourished. ------------------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

Lukan had recently returned New Sol bringing news of Djun's absence. The news was startling, but it was the following report that the mages gave him that was worse. Something followed this expedition group to Historica, and it was full of magic potential. To make matters worse, it was in Nocturnus of all places. Trying to move patrols into the dark lands would not be such a good idea. With the civil war still going on, the last thing anyone wanted was to get caught in the crossfire. Lukan's solution was to equip to high ranking shinobi with the means to find this source. If they found the source then they would find Djun. The shinobi set off immediately, dispatching any patrols that stood in their way. Neither of them knew who was working for who; all they knew was a friend was missing. ----------------------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!

*knock* ???: "Enter." ???: "I see you were successful at capturing him." Phillen: "It wasn't an easy task..." ???: "I see... return to your chambers and I will meet you after I'm done here." Djun: "So, you're in charge here, eh?" ???: "Not quite, but I am here to finish a job." Djun: "I'm certain that job has to do with me dying." ???: "Actually, it doesn't. Your death is just a bi-product." Djun: "So... any chance of..." ???: "No. By the end of this you'll be dead. I promise." Djun: "Am I here just to die!?" ???: "No, you are here to fight one last battle; a battle that will kill you." Djun: "And if I win this battle?" ???: "You won't." Djun: "Well, let's get this over with!" ----------------------- Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. I tried building an eye in the stained glass. Rank: A Guild Member(s): Kyle Melanes, Aurellia Umbrix, Djun Hazdjuk, Secris Taeos Dungrol Raid Phase 1: Fields of Slaughter Lately, the Altrairian Alliance has been closing in on an ancient magic, artifact that could change the tide of the war with Avaria. The guild has been hired to either retrieve or destroy the artifact if necessary. The initial reports we received indicated that a large Altrairian force was sighted near the mines of Dungrol. The party that takes up this quest will have their work cut out for them. - Kain Talon, Guildmaster ------------------------------ Additional Pictures Hope you enjoyed the MOC. I guess it really depends on who is healing. You could switch it out for trans-green if the person casting is more along the lines of a druid. I specifically use trans-yellow to indicate a holy-type of heal, but it could work either way. Thanks for the input!
