  1. True it may get repetitive, but it does give them plenty of practice before Book II hits. I'm just hoping I'll actually be able to do the smaller challenges that come along. Thankfully, we have a pretty active core group even if the post seem much lower than the other guilds. On another note... Masa that MOC is looking pretty sweet!
  2. Task 4: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87679 Sorry for the delay!
  3. In order to secure Rexus as swiftly as possible, we were forced to call in an expert from back home. Needless to say, he is one of the best. The plan was rather simple. Since Rexus usually stays at the Black Cat for awhile, we figured it one be best to catch him while he was not there. It appears as though he also has some elite help as well, but that should not be too difficult to deal with. As far as getting in and out of the city, we have that covered as well. We only have one problem... Ensuring that Rexus is captured. We usually don't take prisoners, but leave bodies instead. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional Pictures (Rexus is the one with the cape) Hope you enjoyed the MOC. This is task 4 for family heirloom. Sorry about the delay, but I finally got back from break! As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  4. I'd do more building if college weren't so important
  5. This is just superb! The lighting really adds to the gloomy atmosphere of the scene. Furthermore the minifig expressions are spot on!
  6. Great to see I'm not the only one who mixes a bit of steampunk with fantasy! Nice MOC, I particuarly like the ruins below and the sails of the ship.
  7. Alright with any luck, I can finish up my RTD build on Thursday! This week has been hectic with exams and computer programming. Edit: Slight change of plans, it seems I've been filling under the weather (along with the weather just being horrible due to a tornado) so I will aim for Monday or Tuesday of next week. Sorry for my tardiness, but studies take priority. -Nightstalker P.S. Have we just become the most inactive guild?
  8. I don't know, doctor might still work since it doesn't necessarily apply to medicine all the time. According to wikipedia (links provided) The doctorate (Latin: doceō, I teach) appeared in medieval Europe as a license to teach (Latin: licentia docendi) at a medieval university.[2] Its roots can be traced to the early church when the term "doctor" referred to the Apostles, church fathers and other Christian authorities who taught and interpreted the Bible.[2] The right to grant a licentia docendi was originally reserved to the church which required the applicant to pass a test, to take oath of allegiance and pay a fee. The Third Council of the Lateran of 1179 guaranteed the access – now largely free of charge – of all able applicants, who were, however, still tested for aptitude by the ecclesiastic scholastic.[3] This right remained a bone of contention between the church authorities and the slowly emancipating universities, but was granted by the pope to the University of Paris in 1213 where it became a universal license to teach (licentia ubiquie docendi).[3] However, while the licentia continued to hold a higher prestige than the bachelor's degree (Baccalaureus), it was ultimately reduced to an intermediate step to the Magister and doctorate, both of which now became the exclusive qualification for teaching.[3] The earliest doctoral degrees (theology, law, and medicine) reflected the historical separation of all university study into these three fields. Over time the D.D. has gradually become less common and studies outside theology, law, and medicine have become more common (such studies were then called "philosophy", but are now classified as sciences and humanities – however this usage survives in the degree of Doctor of Philosophy). The Ph.D. was originally a degree granted by a university to learned individuals who had achieved the approval of their peers and who had demonstrated a long and productive career in the field of philosophy (in the broad sense of the term philosophy, the pursuit of knowledge). The appellation of "Doctor" (from Latin: teacher) was usually awarded only when the individual was in middle age. It indicated a life dedicated to learning, to knowledge, and to the spread of knowledge. The Ph.D. entered widespread use in the 19th century at the Friedrich Wilhelm University in Berlin as a degree to be granted to someone who had undertaken original research in the sciences or humanities. From there it spread to the United States, arriving at Yale University in 1861, and then to the United Kingdom in 1921. This displaced the existing Doctor of Philosophy degree in some Universities; for instance, the D.Phil. (higher doctorate in the faculty of philosophy) at the University of St Andrews was discontinued and replaced with the Ph.D. (research doctorate). However, some UK universities such as Oxford and Sussex (and, until recently, York) retain the D.Phil. appellation for their research degrees, as, until recently, did the University of Waikato in New Zealand. So I'd still go for it.
  9. Black and gold structures for the win You've created quite the menacing fortress! Keep it up!
  10. Nicely done figs! Great to see awesome, custom stuff. I'm also glad to see some MOC's and other cool designs from you
  11. This is a very cool build! It really reminds me of something I'd see out of Dark Souls. Keep up the good work
  12. Interesting... I'll need to put some thought into this before building.
  13. Wait was is this university build? I'm still a newbie here, anyone got a link to previous MOC's?
  14. Given the way a lot of the orc sets were produced, it would be awesome to have more orc and troll sets in a generic LEGO castle theme. I also think trying to expand Castle off of some of the CMF's would be good as well. If LEGO had stopped Ninjago, I would have suggested another Eastern/Orient based castle theme too. I also wouldn't mind a darker theme of castle similar to the Fright Knights. We don't seem to have enough "scary" castles out there (or evil castles for that matter).
  15. The piece is from Brickforge. As for the fig, well that's not my sigfig. I guess I should show his face at some point.
  16. Task 1: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=86397 Task 2: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=86606 Task 3: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87030 Ready for the next task!
  17. It took us awhile to find a mark, but we found a shiny, blue stone lying on the ground and decided to watch. Several hours later, a purple rift opened in the forest. Several men walked out of it and proceeded into the forest. Thanks to our shinobi, they didn't live long. A small detachment of samurai decided to watch the portal while Yoko went through the portal. I hope for their sake, they left their mage protected. She's not a fan of casters, as our assignment givers will soon find out when they receive our gift. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Additional Pictures For Task 3, Raising the Dead: Family Heirloom Hope you enjoyed the MOC. For once I do need lighting feedback, since I got a second light As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  18. That's why I set up several watchtowers in the southern swamplands; if anything attempts to get in that way, they'll catch it.
  19. Just letting you all know, I'm still here even if I don't post frequently. This week just picked up quickly so I've been rather inactive lately. Hopefully I should have my Family Heirloom build ready for the weekend. As for recruitment... Please don't use any of my MOC's. They aren't good to be quite honest
  20. Good news everyone! My folks came down to visit (primarily so I could see my dad who recently got out of the hospital for having a heart attack), but anyways I managed to get some funding and pick up another light! Which means photo quality should be going up! On other news I found CMF Series 11 at TRU! Unfortunately, no Bavarian Girl or Barbarian.
  21. That is quite an evil game, but this is a really good build! I really like the decal designs.
  22. Nah it's okay... really It just sucks not being able to do anything about it at the moment. I may end up trying to get some outdoor photos since the weather has been holding up.
  23. As it sits now, it looks pretty fantastic. The floor designs are what really stick out. Can't wait to see more!
