  1. I thought I'd post some WIP images of my Modular Costume Shop I had the idea of using a modular building as an excuse to use all the collectible minifigs from series 1 and I figured a costume\disguise shop would fit perfectly. I'd appreciate any feedback and suggestions for improvements. I've made a few changes to this since I took these photos, the main one being remaking the tree from scratch and adding a lamppost outside. The other changes were minor and don't warrant a mention. I'm not completely happy with the floor detail upstairs but I don't have enough tile pieces to cover it all in one consistent colour :(
  2. I stopped by Brisbane CBD Target on the way home from work on Thursday, not much there. I dunno if all the good stuff was sold out or what but there wasn't much variety on the shelves. Toy Story or World Racers and a few random city sets. I almost grabbed build a zurg for $28 but until I realized I only really wanted it for the little green alien. I wanted to get the impulse pig farmer, wizard and jester sets but I couldn't find any? are they not out yet or are they popular and sell out quick? I only ended up walking out with the impulse red headed tourist set as the minifig looks like a friend of mine :)
  3. Just picked up this set today for myself and I must say the minifigs and in particular their accessories are definately the highlight for me, the double sword sheath, the claws and the shoulder pads all could be very useful, I'm already picturing a TMNT shredder minifig with the shoulder pad and claws alone....
  4. went back to brisbane CBD target with the barcodes printed out in hand, it was obvious looking at them that someone had been through there already. After checking every single remaining bag though someone has gone through and bought every single zombie and indian, quite annoyed :( they're the only 2 I need now I have 2 extra robots and crash test dummies plus and extra magician if anyone has either of those 2 and wants to trade
  5. I'm probably only willing to trade with fellow australians So for those interested in trading I'm willing to trade any of the following: 1 crash test dummy 1 robots Will trade for ZOMBIES MUHAHAH
  6. Ok well I've opened them all now, I have 5 duplicates out of 10 packets :( I got: 3 robots 3 crash test dummies 2 magicians 1 caveman 1 skateboarder So for those interested in trading I'm willing to trade any of the following: 2 crash test dummies 2 robots 1 magician for any of the following: cheerleader zombie nurse cowboy clown astronaut ninja indian scuba diver wrestler
  7. Brisbane cbd target has the minifigs in stock, I can't be certain but it looked like 2 fresh boxes in the toy section with the rest of the Lego. $3.75 each, though I grabbed 10 at random for myself and only noticed after I'd walked out that I'd only been charged for 9. I haven't opened any yet but if I have any duplicates and anyone in the Brisbane area wants to trade I'm keen.
  8. nice, bookmarked for future reference :)
  9. For those in Brisbane after the Fire Brigade and not willing to pay the $300 I did for it just last week... ToysRUs Mt Gravatt has 4 of them, RRP $250 but $187.50 after the 25% off... I'm gonna go into a corner and cry now :(
  10. argh don't say that, I just paid the full $300 from shop.Lego for it :( at 25% off it'd only be $225 :(
  11. I'm tempted to buy a whole box of the minifigs as well...but I'm a bit torn on one hand I'd be happy to just have the full set, one of each minifig, on the other I could easily handle having multiples of some of them, like the robots, ninjas and zombies :/ Any word on pricing of an entire box? Set? or individual minifigs?
  12. Thanks for the help guys, I ended up ordering the fire brigade while shipping was free...and somehow managed to order a grand emporium while I was at it
  13. Anyone know of anywhere in Brisbane that has the Fire Brigade in stock? or is it not out in stores yet? Edit> I just noticed your posts about the current deal of free postage on lego.com, what is their usual rate for postage? as their website shipping and handling page says anything over $90 is free, or is that updated because of this deal? If I could get an answer quickly too as I might have to make my order very soon if that's the case :)
  14. Brisbane Target CBD has the Toy Story sets in stock now too, picked up build a buzz this morning, prices seem to match shop@home and BTTW I think someone has cleared them out of army men sets already though as there was only 6 left and a big empty shelf next to them, they had tons of buzz and woody to the rescue sets though, a fair few build a buzz's, a couple of zergs and I could only see one western playset
  15. Bricks to the world has toy story in stock now too, just ordered myself 3 soldier packs and a buzz and woody to the rescue :) Prices seem to match those above http://bttw.com.au/legoshop/index.php?main...ex&cPath=36 I wish they had a pack of those aliens though :(
  16. Exploring dangerous new worlds, boldly going where no one else wants to, ALA-N. Astronautical Lunar Android 9 and his roving sidekick...Rover. The fourth creation in my series of profession based bots. He's also my entry in the Civilian Mecha Contest To see the full photo gallery for ALA-N Click Here Previous Bots: #1 MA-X #2 EARL #3 FRANK ALA-N and Rover
  17. Do any of you guys know if there's an Australian reseller for brickarms or brickforge?
  18. Unfortunately I don't have enough pieces to keep them all intact, I have to pull apart each one so I have enough pieces to make the next one, I did order a lot more ball joints so I "might" be able to build more than one at a time now, but no more than 2 at a time I think, and that's only providing the bots are using different colours than each other.
  19. Introducing "FRANK" Fire, Rescue Android, Revision NK. The third creation in my series of profession based bots Like "MA-X" and "EARL" He's fully articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, legs, knees and feet. Frank to the Rescue! Frank helping the community. I might enter him into the civilian mecha comp, not sure yet. I might try something else smaller and in a different style, possibly even a small manned mech. This is actually the second attempt I made at a firebot, my original design was more based around the colour scheme of a fire truck than a suited fireman, I wasn't very happy with the way the red and white was working and I ended up aborting the whole design. A few months later after ordering some more pieces (I don't have many yellow parts :( ) I've finally finished him in a way I'm happy with. As you can see though I keep the main style throughout my bots, the same eyes, similar structure. I do this purposefully, for one I'm attempting to do something friendly and a bit fun, not taking it all too seriously, and secondly I wanted to get the feel that these robots were all constructed by one company and would all fit in well with each other. Anyway here's the early prototype for those who are interested, he looks a bit too much like santa claus, some perhaps towards christmas you might see something similar in shape and colours from me :) For the full set of photos check out my flickr set for Frank here
  20. Here's my entry in the "Show us what you got" competition, Not expecting to place anywhere, it was just fun to try something different while awaiting a delivery of pieces for another project :P The AU20-C "Nugget" Starfighter. Originally designed as escape pods with basic weaponry for defense from larger frigates The "Nuggets" as they began to be known, proved impressively effective in combat. Their small stumpy size proved a huge bonus, making a smaller target to hit in the vast arena of space. More weapons and movement capabilities were added and "The Nugget" was born. Nugget on Flickr
  21. Yeah double sided plates would be very useful, with studs on both sides
  22. I've never read discworld, what connection did I make?
  23. B-OM-7B It's now finished taking on board some of the comments made here, unfortunately due to limited pieces the back is a bit ugly still :( How much is that doggy in the window? Ground Floor Upstairs Apartment For larger photos and more shots including photos of the back and the haunted attic! please check out my Flickr page here
  24. I was the same, I thought they were a useless waste of money. But when in Berlin last year I went to Legoland Berlin and picked one up while there for the hell of it. Now I love it, can't live without it and it really helps getting those frustrating pieces apart without damaging them with fingernails or butter knives. I don't see how you need 2 of them though? If I need any extra leverage I just stick a large 2x4 brick underneath the offending piece to extra support.
  25. That's not a bad idea about the garden bed, I think I'll give that a try!
