The serpent alone would have driven up the cost by at least $30. It uses six or more dinosaur bodies :o . It does look very menacing but LEGO is for 6-12 mostly and so parents might not buy such a scary looking monster. I like the new shields compared to the 3x3 radar dishes. I like the new helmets compared to the huge horned prototypes. I like the new color scheme better than the black boring one. I would have liked to see at least one new double braided beard pattern in a few different colors instead of just prints. The actual set is much better than the prototype except for the serpent. That serpent really does look fabulous. All those spikes and horns.

Zelda if it is just me but SSB is the best mutliplayer game. It is always more fun to play a game versus friends.

I have been busy and here is the result. Feel free to check out the rest of the battle. Behold the might of the Royal army as they defend against two armies at the same time. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Also, if you haven't taken the survey in the general forum here or over at Lugnet or anywhere else it is listed, help me out and do so today or at least before August 1st. SuvieD

Ha ha :-D For those who think I have forgotten I have not! I have been busy and here is the result. Feel free to check out the rest of the battle. Behold the might of the Royal army as they defend against two armies at the same time. This is the final leg of the race I am passing off the baton to you who have not taken this. August 1st is coming on quickly and there is no time to delay. If have replied to the survey now is the time. If you know someone interested in LEGO toys who has not taken the survey, encourage them to do so now. If have helped by posting links on different forums and taken part in the discussions bump them and keep them up until the 1st. Post any encouragement you can. Spread the word, get peoples attention (in a good way). There is no time to waste. I will do what I still can but I will need your help. If you have already answered please feel free to modify, simplify, condense or expand your answers. Just remember, no trash talk, no vulgarity, no put downs, and no completely unrealistic answers should be listed. LEGO will not be able to use such things. Be positive, yet honest and wishful, yet realistic. ;) To the LEGO revival! tag- Also, feel free to copy this message, minus this tag, to any other forum to get the word out.

Well, I can't say that I like the actual bionicle sets as I think they are stupid. But i really like some of the parts and the range of mobility in them. So, I picked 2. I would have said equally but the sets are not so great in my opinion. Now playing near you "Revenge of the VCVC" only in this case Yoda lay the smack down on the darkside. Way to go xwingyoda! |-D

Who is the best actor in the "new" generation ???
SuvieD replied to xwingyoda's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Perhaps I should have said "rarely" instead. :$ Never/always statements are a good way to get in trouble. I understand your point though. Picking a best actor is really just picking an actor in all a persons best liked movies sometimes I think. -
Welcome! Don't worry about your member title. If you hang out here very long and do something interesting you will get a hand picked personalized title to fit your posts and personality. So don't spam or steal others stuff or you will get a horrible title that will shame you for life. On the bright side, if you are friendly and follow the very few rules here you will have a good time.

That is awesome Matt. Seriously. If people drink it should be responsibly. I am glad this is going to be used to help educate people and create awareness. If I were where you are I would shake you hand and give a big thumbs up. Way to go! Oh, and congrats on getting your name in the paper.

:$ bad guess at cost. So much for optimism, the prices for these are awful!
-
My thought is that they will cost $10-15, $20-30, $40-60. Reason being, they are basic parts meaning no minifigs, no weapons, no new molds, no new colors, no stickers, no prints, no instructions (instructions are online), no jumbo parts, no baseplates, no animals, no rare parts (at least not hard to make or find molds), and finally the sets have so many of the same part that it would make it very cost effective for LEGO to make these. Basic tubs and buckets have 500-1000 parts for $10-20. Why shouldn't the same basic piece counts apply to such generic building parts. Though my price estimates lean more toward the higher guesses of $15, $30 and $60. This is very good news and I am looking forward to the opening up the factory contest to standard sized sets. I want to see some awesome castle sets come out of this program. I can see it now "castle life" with 1500 parts making a town well, a candle maker shop, a butcher shop, and a farm.

Phes is obsessive which is like insanity. Sarg is obsessive which is like insanity. He is more obsessive because he is nuts enough to make a poll about who is the crazier. Remember if you want to prove to everyone you are crazy just have them all gather around a ladder, dress only in a skirt and then climb the ladder. Then everyone will clearly see you nuts. :oo ;)

Who is the best actor in the "new" generation ???
SuvieD replied to xwingyoda's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I don't watch many newer movies. I don't care for the things hollywood produces lately or in the last 50 years for that matter. If I had to pick someone though I think Sean Astin is a really good actor. He never plays top roles or heroes but he always does a great job and makes his characters believable. Depp is too odd for me but if I had to pick one of the list provided I would choose him. -
Oooh, really. I will trade or buy anyones KK2 swords for $0.10 a piece. The more you have the easier it is to trade or sell them to me. Nothing about the Viking sets is bothersome to me. I really like everything.

I think he means babies as in human babies. In which case I will quickly explain the "birds and the bees." 1. A bird must fly around and eat a lot. 2. A bee must go and drink nectar from a flower. 3. The bird must :$ relieve itself :$ near the bee as to make the bee nervous. 4. The nervous bee will start to shake releasing the little stickies that stuck to him when he drank the nectar. 5. The stickies fall down onto the grass and cause a reaction which makes the grass belch up spores. 6. These spores make people feel sick and get scratchy, they also make babies start grow in their mommies tummy. 7. After the sickness and scratching goes away and the baby grow into something near the size of a soccer ball the mommy has it taken out of her belly. :) And that my friends is the birds and the bees! ;) Oh yeah, great review, I am really excited for these. :oD

;) the wink is a classic. :oD excitement is great too. :^D devilish I think of this as the mischeivous face Calvin (Calvin and Hobbes) gets when he has a rotten idea. *sing* singing, yelling, or showing everyone you can fit your whole fist in your mouth this smilie is fun. :oo this one is my favorite. I love that expression.

Another little bit is that LEGO still owns 30% of the parks. Which is still a lot of sway over any decision. LEGO will still sell their products and will maintain the toys that they have invested in. LEGO takes in some money from the park itself and more money from the stuff they sell. LEGO will not let another company drag it's good name into the mud so I would say YES! this is a good thing. Whats more is that with a bigger capital for such things and a desire to have chains of theme parks (hinted at in the articles) we may see more LEGOLANDs popping up in different areas. I would like to see another one come to the US a little closer than California and I am sure countries like Japan, Australia, Canada, Austria, France or other more advanced countries would like one as well. Last but not least, LEGO will now, like Hobbes said, focus on the toys! |-D Which is better for anyone who likes LEGO toys!

Insanity *wacko* :oD *wacko* if I had only known I would have gotten dozens of them from shop at home for the measley $150 they wanted for them. I could be rolling in the cash by selling them now. I was not willing to pay original cost for these. I would never pay more than that and I would certainly not pay $500+ for such a small set.

BJ- hatred? no "strong dislike" and yes I did, I got busy last night cleaning up and getting laundry done, I will photo tonight. xwingyoda Yes, I know but (evil little word isn't it ;) ) I would have enjoyed a yellow Lando and I do enjoy the yellow street basketball players with their really nice facial hair and short hair prints. I think yellow is the only color needed and by me wanted. LEGO is all about yellow minifigs and multicolored bricks. Right again, most people will not be racist because they get flesh colored minifigs. People are still people and I for one am not yellow nor is my dark friend Ellis. We both like yellow figs. ;) To say that communism is to blame is not quite right. It was powerful corrupt self-centered greedy men under the guise of communism that led to such evil times, not communism. Communism itself is a wonderful idea but it will never work. I wasn't around back then :-D ;) Besides figs should be yellow for the sake of consistancy. They were yellow back in the 70's they should be yellow until LEGO goes under. Though I like the new grays and brown I think that they should have left them for consistancy. I am much less against the color change as I am fleshtone figs. *sick* :f) *sick*

Yes, I do. Somedays more than others but at least 2 a week I think.

:) is not the same as :f) . Period. With :) all people are equal and there is no reason to treat them differently than anyone else. With :f) people are not the same and many will be treated poorly or stereotyped into a "color" role. I have many friends from many "races" but to me they are people. To some people I know they are sub-people or second class people or near worthless people. LEGO is a toy that children will use how they want to. LEGO doesn't have to be violent children make it so. They don't have to sell tanks and planes people will make them on their own. If people are bigotted then they will find ways to do so with even LEGO. If we say that LEGO is mature enough for such diversity then are they not for guns, tanks, planes, and missles? What about those violent movies, shouldn't LEGO venture into partnership with Troy, Gladiator, Alien vs Predator or War of the Worlds? What is wrong with toys that depict religion or even terrorism? These are the things young children in many parts of the world live through everyday. Why not make them into the very toys they play with. I know many of you might think this seems too far out there. Comparing "natural" skin tones in LEGO to violence, war and hate seems too much out of proportion. LEGO has been a neutral imagination driven toy since the first little brick snapped to another. Whether on purpose or accidentally the yellow minifig has been a symbol of unity and equality. People often ask for what they want before the effects are even considered. First it was duplos switch to flesh tones, then the different nationalities represented in face printing, now flesh tones for minifigures, now with dinos (though trying to have them as alien blaster type weapons) guns, next modern military? What a spout. Just me thinking in writing. Yellow is simple and fair. No one is yellow. If LEGO makes too many "light" colored people and not as many "dark" colored people then people will complain. Already I have seen mocs where the NBA heads were used to make jokes about race. LEGO is for children. Let it stay innocent and free from the hate of the world. Leave minifigs :) Get rid of :f) And anyone who likes the flesh colors please PM if you want to trade for them I have some I want to get rid of.

That sounds great. I can still get all the parts I want and have them arranged in a way that I know they will be useful. I hope they have the same parts that the original contest had. That would be nice. There were some very nice pieces I would like to get from that.

Lego wins lawsuit in the Netherlands !!
SuvieD replied to xwingyoda's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My guess is that it has little to do with the laws and more to do with the judge. In the US at least judges seem to be able to "interpret" the law more so than uphold the law. This is not true in all cases but it is sad to say that it is true in some. -
It is this. Saber-Scorpion's Lair Forums There are 13 response there with one being in both sites so there are 12 from that site. SSL=12 CC=6 FBTB=18 Lugnet=12 EB=26 Total=74! :oD

Excellent job on those. I really like the way the last one turned out. They do seem dark though. Vikings are excellent and for those who want bigger armies of them this will be the cheapest way by far.
