It is referred to as dark tan or dark tope. It is a goldish color found in few sets so far. Aunt May from spiderman has an outfit in this color, the viking longboat has a few parts in the color and the Rascus minifig has hands and helmet in the color. As far as Vladeks set it look very nice.

Welcome to Eurobricks! I am sure you will enjoy yourself and keep caught up on all the latest news. ;) LEGO is trying to be edgy at the same time as wholesome. It will sway one way or the other sooner or later. There is such a pressure for LEGO to make violent or war toys that is hard not to give in a little. I hope that all the effort being put forth will help prevent that and show LEGO that friendly building sets :) can make just as much if not more money than violent play sets :^D .

Well, I was worried but now I am sold on it. I thought it would be the same as Jango's but it clearly isn't. Jango's 358 elements, 2 figures, $50, weak design (falls apart) Boba's 537 elements, 4 figures, $50, stronger design (shouldn't fall apart) Not only does Boba's slave have a better build and more pieces and figs but it also cost the exact same as Jango's. More parts, more figures, better set design, and all of it for the same price. Only a sale could make this set any better! Besides IG88 looks awesome. I have yet to see a custom that looked half that good. And once you get him place a small black rubber band and he is perfect. Great find Chewie!

It's a hockey puck! Actually, it started as a hockey puck but was also used in the knights polybag as wheels for . . . another catapult! *sick* I think TLG really like catapults. I am not sure what the part is called. If you look at the hockey slammer stadium I am sure you will find the part. It is actually nice as a wheel though.

I can't wait for the review. Especially the small fort. That looks great!
-
Did you try the pirate game? This is great. Wow and some people don't think LEGO has come a long way.
-
I think that was made with only one fortress. Vladek's fortress is the biggest castle set ever made and the pictured fort is not much bigger than the first kk2 castle. I think you could easily make that with one fort and a few dozen extra black bricks. It does look nice but it is too squared for me. It need a tower or something.

Very nice Chewie! It looks like a monster, that's for sure. All black, horns and breaths fire this will get some serious scariness points I think. Good originality too, I have never seen a black pegasus before and the little story makes it even better. Just remember you can have up to five entries. With up to two in each category. So keep them coming!

Actually, if LEGO created the part you can use it. that includes bionicle (which is actually very useful for monsters), galidor, technic, 4+, duplo, or system. The only way it would not be allowed is if you tried to replace a few parts and then tried to say you made a wolf monster. That would not be allowed. Just using parts though is very much encouraged. I must ask though, can someone move all the discussion to the other thread so this one can be just for pictures and comments about the monsters themselves? Thanks- SuvieD EDIT: actually I meant the first thread that announced the contest. But whatever. Three threads isn't too many and it will be hard to miss them ;)

There is another thread floating around here, someone at CC found a link to scholastic books and it is outlined there. The book isn't out until spring but it does confirm that Vladek indeed comes back and "new" whatever that means knights will fight him. My hope is for a white and silver knight. Why do you want to keep Morcia and the story? It is not nearly as open ended as it could be and is already bottled by the first two years. I say we should like a snake shed off the old skin and come out with something castle that is new and better.
-
I like the white tall one and the red crawling one. I think they need more bulk though. They are kind of skinny. Very nice though!

The story for kk2.03 is already set, and Jayko as king along with his "new" knights must fight of Vladek again. Little is said about it yet but that is the story for the book that comes out next spring. I think your ideas would make a better theme on there own. Drop KK2 off and start a new massive kingdom where children can design their own knight set for $15 in the LEGO factory and then LEGO could release five $20 sets each with a different climate (desert, snow, grass, rock, water) and a special $50 ultimate castle bucket with 2500 useful castle pieces and 20 generic figs, armor and helmets for soldiers and cowls and capes for peasants. That way people can build their own castle and have their own spot in the kingdom. I really like the desert castle idea. A little more modern city of Troy or perhaps Constantinople. Some great ideas with the hidden ruins and maybe a special fortress like the cave for the forty thieves.

I understand your points. It isn't fair and I know that more people would buy the products if they were cheaper. There is a lot that goes into determining price. I agree. Prices should be at least similar if not better from LEGO shop at home or the LEGO stores. The product is made right next door.

I think it has more to due with wages. In the US minimum wage just went to $6.15 for $5.15. A good paying job for most people where I live is $20-30 an hour. And though I don't know what wages are like in Europe I have been told that they are higher than ours. Thus if people have more it will cost more. So, it isn't the fact that you make more money, it is the store clerk who makes more money that brings up your price. Most mega retail in America (Walmart, Target, TRU) pay only minimum wage. My thought is that a store clerk in Austria gets paid more than 4.50-5.50 euro an hour. TLG has to make the same amount of money on the same set in both countries. If the middle man costs are lower then the final product is cheaper. But it still doesn't explain why when shopping from LEGO directly it should cost just as much. that my friend is *wacko*

BfME 2! :oD

With brickfest prep this last month, I think it will take some time. I have been promised that the entire file is being read through and the info will be passed on where appropriate. Jake also said that he would let me know when anything does happen. I wouldn't think before October though. I know that the new LEGO factory stuff will have to be closely monitored and the ambassador program is starting the second round. He is a busy guy but he made promises that are easy enough (though time consuming) to keep and I believe he will. I will post anything I hear as soon as I here it. I am working on some charts through next week and I will get them posted when finished.

Two reasons, I don't know how and I linked to the article which listed the prices and specifics. (BTW thanks for changing that Jipay! :) ) Will you be buying that or do you rely on parents or relative to get it for you?

Phes, you are a controversial one aren't you? Sex-Religion-Politics are all dangerous topics. But since you brought it up, I have always thought and will continue to think that a person is who they are because of two factors. The situations and events in a persons life shape who we are and more importantly our own personal choices make each person "what" they are. So, in my opinion yes, sexual orientation is a choice. Now I know there is more to it than that but on the basic level it is still choice. I had heard that many Chinese people are marrying from surrounding countries. Some of which have a high female to low male population. In China though, I fear that it will end up like another African situation with so many having aids. Oh and hobbes that picture is hilarious!

Why is LEGO so stingy with their mini-figures?
SuvieD replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Used to have 10 figs in them, sets now only have 3 or 4. Prices have also gone up for MB. LEGO will win in both quality and price soon enough. And hopefully the survey will also boost minifig numbers! -
Okay, the price has been revealed for XBox 360. Check here! There are two prices actually. One for $299 - 299

:^^ Prizes for the contest! :^^ The winner of each category will recieve one of these . (pic is link) Remember you can only win one prize. If you enter each category once you have a greater chance of winning! I may add prizes for the runners up later. The grand prize for the best overall monster is still not determined.

You shouldn't destroy good islanders though! There must be another way. I have some naked torsos I can trade you if nothing else. They are in used but excellent condition and still have their shine. You should see this guys site. He has blank new torsos for $0.50 only. That isn't bad at all. You would have to get 20 but that isn't a bad thing. The NBA yellow legs come from the collector 3 packs with the Lakers uniforms. I think there are two packs with the yellow.
-
Spiderman sets have a Norman Osborn figure with no clothing on the torso. The figures are usually cheap. Then all you have to do is find some legs.
-
Check right here for some very good LEGO deals on Amazon. If you live in the US you can get some good prices on shipping as well. It may be worth a look. Also, for anyone with a TRU check to see if they have a green tag clearance right now. You could find some great prices on sets that were just a little too much to get earlier. Remember if you pay full price you pay too much!

Well, what does everyone think? I myself like some of the parts and hope that they stick around for a little while. I won't miss the minifig size or the juniorization at all though. And that just means more system sets instead! :-D
