That is a funny picture! |-D Poor little doggy :'(

Is this a joke? Melted and spray painted parts increase the chances of winning? Two deadlines? Mutilated prizes? I don't think I will be joining even if it isn't a joke.

No limit on size. It can not be modified minifigure though. It can use minifigure parts but not be a minifigure. So, no half person half animal monsters unless made out of pieces. Using a minifigure head for a monster would work or perhaps just the legs or torso but the monster should not be a minifigure.

Again with the stubby tanks. I guess in the future England determines tank size. ;) I don't care for the steam mech mostly because it is too complex to be maintainable for the time period it would be made in. I do think it could be made but the internal structure would not last long with the limited lubricants and materials available. The stress on the legs alone from carrying the tank would be to much for it I think. Oh, your mecha. Nice Mecha+Pirate flag=sweet! Enough said.

They tie up foriegners place them in a big pot and force them into marriage or sell them to the cannibals one island north!

Whith that much heat I would say that yes LEGO would melt also. Though I don't think clone brands are pure pvc. Only in part. LEGO is generally 80-100% ABS and it can withstand intense heat longer than the inferior clones. Yet, i am unmoved and unwilling to test it. So when someone does let use know the result.

Canada would be furious! *devil* I think that Megabloks is switching their stuff. It looks less and less like LEGO with every new series. Some day soon it will be so unrecognizable it may even start selling in the EU. Thankfully LEGO is changing everthing for the better so MB really will not be able to compete w/LEGO in the construction category. By then they will dominate the action toy category with their sets. Oh, and that is a bestlock pirate ship. ;)

Didn't Shaggie make that ship. He recently started posting here again*. He lives in Poland and like trains I think. *He is one of the EB founding members.

MattZitron Posted Right! jipay Posted Right again! I really am not willing to pay $20-$30 per prize. I have offered to pay for shipping (or at least most of it) costs also. I would be very happy to win an exclusive x-pod set that is also a game. Submit an entry and win (+) -free $20 retail set -no shipping cost -bragging rights -you get to build with LEGO -you can win building respect from others I can think of at least three families I know who could not afford any LEGO. So, heres the deal if you win and don't want your x-pod set I will give it to one of those families. ;) Besides who wouldn't want more x-pods? I am tempted to go buy more just for me :-D

Look at the current duplo castle line. This line is easily still enjoyable for 4-6 year olds. I think this is what they mean for stretching the lines. By 6-8 they will switch to the new rc train, city or bionicle and then 10-12 they can enjoy every theme through Technic and train. I just hope they expand and create a theme for 13-18 that is a true model theme or maybe a 13-99 adult theme that is a collectible miniatures like game based on LEGO made characters and adventure (not war) roleplaying with minifigures and weapons. This would be a great excuse to create new weapons, utinsels and other gear for minifigures while appealling to teenage boys and adults who are fans of table top games and roleplaying.

I wish they would have used the skull ship instead. If you look at the rest of the items they destroy you can see that they only pay very little to try out the destruction of certain items. The must have gotten that cheapo ship at a second hand sale for cheap!

Does anyone out there want to trade some LEGO for a video game or two. I have a Gamecube and would like to get some new games. I tend to trust the people here with trading more than anywhere else. So, if you have any of the following gamecube games in good working condition I am willing to trade you LEGO for them. -Soul Calibur II -Pikmin 2 -Pikmin -Metroid Prime 2 Echoes -Metroid Prime -Super Mario Sunshine -Mario Kart: Double Dash -Star Fox Assault -Mario Power Tennis -Tales of Symphonia -Alien Hominid -Bomberman Generation -Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO -Luigi's Mansion -Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour -Pokemon Colosseum -Star Fox Adventures -Tetris Worlds -WarioWare Inc.: Mega Party Game$ I prefer multiplayer games but any on the list I will trade for. If you have a gamecube and some games maybe you will want to trade. Whether you no longer play the game or if you a sick of it or whatever, as long as it is good working order I will trade for it. I have many LEGO pieces and obviously if you are reading this you might want more. Let me know with a PM what LEGO parts you are looking for and we can work out a trade. I prefer that you live in the US to save on shipping but I will leave it open to everyone.

It's Harry Osborne. It comes in two sets4856 and 4857.

I am not much into trains but this looks really cool. Where do they use this train? I am only used to seeing cargo and ore trains where I live. I am sorry not all of the parts exist in the colors you want.
-
Hmm? Good thought. Really I can't see the printed parts as being counted as separate like we do. Red 2x2 slope is just that regardless of any printing on it. I would like to see a list myself of parts there are. As far as brick sizes I know that they have whittled that down greatly. Out of 48 possible unmodified bricks that LEGO has made in the past only 34 are currently used and some of these are really not needed. 2x2x3 or 2x4x3 why not just stack 2x2's and 2x4's? I think they could whittle it down to 7000. He said that they are already down to 8000. And you will have to remember that many parts come in one single color. Many technic gears and axles and small technic parts in general come in maybe three colors each. Some parts like 1x1 round plates come in almost 20 colors. It should even out somewhere. If they do increase I hope it is not in stupid parts we don't need. I would like to see a bigger variety in colors like dark blue and dark green or teal and dark tan before we see some new useless parts.

Yes, school ended for me six years ago. Though I may be going to school again soon. I just don't know if I want to *wacko*

That's exactly what I am talking about. The only piece that can't be used for other themes was pirate specific. Older themes had very few parts that couldn't be used with another theme. Space always had a few printed parts, pirates had flags, castle had horse bardings, but basketball hoop nets, were can you use that outside of basketball. At least with the others you could have a parade in you town setup and have themed floats. Where can you possible use a basketball net? I have tried to put the togehter to make somesort of latticed pillar but they don't conform to any other shape. You have to completely cheat the LEGO system to get them to stay in place. These are utterly worthless. And I can say without remorse, I wish the LEGO sports never happened! We have so many almost worthless parts from the LEGO sports lines, I would rather of had a new pirate line or even a double sized bionicle line.
-
Sure, that's true! Maybe I should say basic. Well, that works about as well. The LEGO parts that have 1000's of uses should be considered the core elements (bricks, plates, slopes), those with only 100's should be additional elements (jumpers, tiles, wegdes), those with 10's should required pieces for a theme (wheels, engines, hinges), and those with less than ten should be specialty pieces (swords, metal detectors, exhast pipes, helmets). Specialty pieces should be somewhat theme specific. Castle needs certain pieces to make it castle. Pirates needs there parts too. What no theme needs are one use parts that only work in one set and have no real use in other themes, in other sets, or in LEGO period. Do we really need a new "other piece with technic pins" or some new mold for a jumbo one piece curved brick that could be made out of 4 existing parts? The answer is NO! I myself wouldn't mind new accessories for sets. New animal molds, an new concave 33 slope or a new greek/roman helmet would all be nice to have. But a new 10x10x10 hollow brick, why bother?
-
Maybe, I think it means that half of the new colors from the last five years are not going to be produced in as many different elements. That and some of the older parts will not be used anymore. For instance, the 2x2 wedge plate and the 2x2 wedge plate with stud spaces. The newer one can be used in more places and has less limitations. The older one is much more limited and so i think in cases like this the older parts will get discontinued.
-
I don't think it was leaked though. Starwars.com posted the news which means that it is okay to share the pictures and some info with anyone now. Besides, it will get far more traffic on SW.com and rebelscum.com than it will here. LEGO must get the best advertising that they can.
-
That is the goal. 7000 pieces based on color and shape if I remember correctly. Which is fine by me. It is a royal pain to sort pieces that exist in pathetic quantity or colors.

In a scientific study it is been shown the powerful use mirror could have in navel battles. Follow the link to see the results. "Sea" Mirror Results I had to laugh when I saw this. This is what we need to do to certain companies!

They are a theme unto themselves. Yet, they do have qualities like other themes. Ships, make them like pirates Forts and catapluts , like castle Bionicle parts mixed in and six main figures, like the newest alpha team sets Yet, other things completely set them apart. Monsters, no other theme has them in such number or as many different creatures. Arms, no other theme has used the helmuts, shields or axes that this theme uses. I don't think Vikings need to have any competition. They are unique in design and have no direct comparisson. Ninja, really shouldn't be considered castle either as it actually took place in the 1600's by which time feudal lords were dwindling and gun powder weapons were become more prevelant. Neither should we consider Vikings as castle or pirate as they do not take place on the same timeline. I voted #4 as vikings are most similar to everthing! |-D
