I thought it was the Irish and Italian who were given to quick tempers. The French are the romantic. *wub* Though that wouldn't apply to this situation. ;) vcvc you could ask that your title be removed. That way you are just a member. Then when xwingyoda or an admin have a good title for you then you can have one. I myself don't have one and have been posting regularly for some monthes now. I trust that when I get one it will be fitting to my online personality or perhaps funny. You must just wait. I don't blame you though for not liking your title. "Spammer" is not a nice title at all regardless of what you do. Another thing you might consider doing is to start editing your post instead of making a new one every time you want to say something. You have only been posting for 10 days and already you have dozens of unneeded posts.

Thank you kindly! As far as others posts, I hope there is nothing short of emergency that will keep any of you from answering. I honestly will not be bothered by anyones answers if they are appropriate and honest. Everyone has opinions. I just ask that you share yours to the possible betterment of both our community and to TLG itself.

Happy day of your birth! I heard that you were such a trouble maker before you were born that the doctor slapped your bottom just seconds after you were delivered. :oo Have a great day.

Did you take this picture or did you find it on the web? That is funny!

Wow days later I am finally able to post this. Brickshelf has been very icky lately. The rest of it can be seen here. Bins Trays Shelves Display table Everything (almost) is sorted by color and/or piece. *wacko* In picture one you can see my three red slide trays. Two have small plates in all colors from 1x1 to 2x4. The one under the computer has all my technic bricks and plates. You can also see the 30 or so pull out "bait boxes". These have all my small accessory type pieces. Everything from tiles to monkeys is in these. The slide trays on the very top of the desk have my large plates in every color not mentioned in pic 2 caption and my rarer bricks like transparent anything or lime green. *wacko* The LEGO tubs are filled with basic bricks. I have one black, two yellow, one blue, one tan,and one and a half red. Underneath the pirate boxes I have smaller tubs, one green, one light gray, one dark gray, and one brown. Along the wall are two tubs for my light gray, and black and one tub for red, yellow, blue, and dark gray plates. The pirate boxes contain my large bricks used for landscapes or basebricks. *wacko* Picture 3 has three red containers for all my slopes which are sorted by type, size and color. The black hard to see container has my odder slopes and some misc. parts. The white containers on top have (from left to right) arches, arches, arches, barrels and treasue chests, doors and windows, and fences. *wacko* Picture 4 is very poorly lit. :'( It has numerous bins with all my odd plates and wings. All my windscreens and cockpit parts. It also has all my castle minifigures on it in bins or PaB cups. Picture 5 is my display table. Most of the stuff on it are mocs. I have had much time to build lately so the table is not as full as it should be. :'( The things you don't see are my baseplates and castla wall parts which are in the big filling cabinet in the desk. The four drawer tower next to the desk which has all my non-military castle figures, my horses and dragons, my large animals and dinosaurs, all my bionicle parts. You also will not see my "bucket of I have no place for you" with many parts in it, the piles of sorted but not put away parts in the middle of the basement floor or the tubs of stuff that is sorted but I have no room currently to put it anywhere. :o I hope you have enjoyed the tour of SuvieD's LEGO dungeon. Thank you for for coming and please don't touch anything on your way out. The owner gets upset if you move or take his things. I will be available for questions if you want to see me over there. Thank you and have a nice day. ;) :-D

He is thinking, oh man is this gonna hurt! :o

That is really funny. I love pictures made in paint. Some are really well done and others mostly because of the solid colors look so hilarious. Maybe you should add some Umpa Doggy Lumpas. :D

I took some pictures of mine I will update this later when I get home with the pictures. It is faster if I just add the topic here at work and then add a link to the pictures at home. I only have a LEGO corner. I could use the whole basement but I really don't want to. Though if I keep getting more LEGO without getting rid of some I will be forced to expand.

Nice goodies Ed. Your imperial and castle armies must be getting quite bloated with troops this last few monthes. All hail Ed Caesar! Bow down before his huge indestructable armies!

Why do LEGO toys have value to you? LEGO for me is both nostalgia and an artistic outlet. LEGO is a hobby for me that allows me to use my imagination and problem solving skills. What makes LEGO brand construction toys worth your money? Having a high piece per price count, lots of accessories, one minifigure per every $5 a set costs and either a new piece, a piece in a new color or a uncommon color part (such as a brown bird) all add to my perceived value of a set. Above all these things though LEGO

To keep non-answers breif I will just say that LEGO was voted toy of the century for a reason. LEGO has had more contact, set up a website, started the ambassador program and produced 4 fan made sets all in the last few years. If that proof of a better relationship than nothing is. LEGO's market share in construction toys (US at least) is much less than it used to be. There simply is more flashy competition than before. If Mr. Giddens will not I will write an email to Jake McKee politely asking that he would help with this. If this will not work I have a contingent backup plan I can not mention. I will answer it the way I was invisioning. Thank you everyone at Eurobricks for your participation!

Why is LEGO so stingy with their mini-figures?
SuvieD replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego knows full well what sells sets. They have been doing this for many years now and one of the logics behind the number of figures in sets is based on cost. Another common reason is the fact that they want you to buy each set. Such as in Harry Potter sets. They don't have all the main characters (except for Harry) in many of the sets. They want you to buy each set to get a complete series of figs. Of course they are making a profit. In the last year LEGOLAND parks actually made money instead of losing it. Why is this do you think? What has happened in the last year that has helped make that difference? If you think like I do then you will tend to believe it is the PaB. Millions of pieces that they could do very little with suddenly have not only a use but are bringing in money. By the time figures or even parts of figures get to PaB they are already paid for through the sets they come from. Like this, if Lego needs to sell 10,000 of a certain set to make X amount of profit, and the machines make 15,000 of a certain figure (5000 extra in case the set sells really well and they need to make more of it) to be in the set at one time as to save on costs and switching colors but the set sells only so-so and they make the profit needed for this set, then the extra figs are worthless to Lego. Until now. With PaB those already paid for figures are now at 1 whatever, 5000 more whatevers in Lego's pocket. These parts and figures may in fact be pure profit. Now I know it cost something in the first place to make these parts but they would have needed to make them anyway. It is just now they have a way to sell what they didn't use and make lots of extra money doing it. It is like farmers who have vegetables they can't sell because part of it had a bug or got stepped on or something. Before these were tossed to animals or into a compost, but now they have machines that shave bad parts off, chop up the veges and sell them in bags frozen. No more wasted veges! Lego got smart and did this also. Last year Lego made spring cleaning bonus boxes to be sold with other bulk sets. These went flying off the self faster than any bulk tubs Lego has ever sold. Lego only had to box up parts they couldn't use and strap them to another set. It made Lego lots of money. They got rid of lots of junk they couldn't use. Pure profit. If you are really getting free Lego, why aren't you sharing? We all want some free Lego too. -
Excellent turn out for the Mecha event. Congrats! BigFatSlob on some very cool Mecha and for taking third place.

Why is LEGO so stingy with their mini-figures?
SuvieD replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I based the price on the PaB in LEGOLAND Germany. They sell minifigs with a torso w/head, a set of legs and a headgear piece for one Euro. I know they also do this in LEGOLAND California for $1. You also have the option of getting them 5 for $4. I seriously doubt LEGO takes a loss on this price. Minifig bulk packs at $4.25-$6, which were loaded with accessories, also averaged at $1-$1.75 per figure w/accessory(ies). Having worked with pricing in retail I also know that wholesale a set like this only cost $3-$4. Retail stores and distributors are making money off these, LEGO we can assume is also. So, I doubt they took a loss on these either. LEGO is a big business. It can control costs better than we think, they admit that the last few years they have made some rather poor choices which increased cost beyond what they could make. Too many colors, too many new molds, too much fluff all added to poor cost control which resulted in spending more than LEGO could make in the same time. Even if it is bulk and is a reduced price, why would they charge so much if they just wanted it sold. I was not about to pay that much for figs I didn't want, but if they were just like the rest of PaB I would have gotten a bag full of them and a bag full of horses which the sold at 1.50 Euro. My line of thinking is based on educated guesses not random thoughts. I really wish we could know what it really costs for LEGO to make each piece. Perhaps if LEGO introduces an online sub-site like Bricklink we can see what the price they need to make money from a part. So there! -
LEGO is a changing company that many think is not what it should be or what it used to be. The best quality construction toys are made by LEGO. The current customer relationship between LEGO and the people who enjoy the toys they make is the best it has ever been. Yet, to many it seems something is still lacking. People who years ago bought LEGO products now think twice before buying a new set. The secondary LEGO market is growing and getting more and more business from LEGO itself. What has caused this change? Many people think LEGO needs a change. A return if you will to what made LEGO so great in years past. LEGO is an enjoyable, quality made toy that many people regardless of age enjoy. So many of us want to see LEGO a prosperous company making a product everyone from children to grandparents will buy and enjoy for years to come. The whole reason for this survey is to get you to provide answers to some simple questions. When the answers are complied we will submit them to LEGO for consideration. Please respect the purpose of this survey and do not go off topic, have any discussion or make any comments on others ideas or desires for LEGO. Please only post your answers after some thought and be as precise and as brief as you can be so that everyone's voice can be heard. If someone worded their answer exactly as you would like to please feel free to copy it and use it as your answer as well. Be very honest with your answers but avoid strong negativity, insults or improper language. If you have no answer or do not wish to answer a question please list N/A. Why do LEGO toys have value to you? What makes LEGO brand construction toys worth your money? In what way has the LEGO brand let you down? Recently, how has the LEGO brand improved? What would you like to see LEGO (re)introduce in the next three years? What does LEGO need to do to sell more products for less cost to them? What reason(s) do you have for not buying new LEGO sets? What would it take for you to spend more money on new LEGO products versus buying sets/parts on the second hand markets? What will it take for LEGO to remain the best construction toy for all ages and be a profitable company? What are your home country, first name and age? Is there anything you would like to say with this last question that you feel someone at LEGO should not go without reading? Thank you in advance for all the answers you will give. If we take this seriously and present it with a determination to be a help to TLG, then I believe LEGO will both appreciate it and look through it honesty, considering our ideas. Admins please help keep this thread clutter free and productive. This survey will run from now until August 1st. I will be creating an excel file with peoples answers and will have it completed in August, at which time we turn it over to someone at LEGO. If you are a member of another forum please pass an invite to those members to answer this survey also. Thank you everyone who has participated. Please remember this thread is for answers to the questions and not comments about the questions, others answers or anything else. If you want to discuss these things please start a different topic or discuss them elsewhere. I would like to have everyone participate if possible. I will do my best at getting these answers compiled and easy to read for everyone and get delivered to. Again, thank you for your help and opinions. If you sit back and say nothing you will have no chance to change it later. If you stand up for what you think and present your opinions politely people will at least listen and may be affected to change. To the LEGO revival!

Why is LEGO so stingy with their mini-figures?
SuvieD replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego minifigures are valued at about $0.80-1 per figure (this is what Lego charges as PAB). This is only the legs, torso w/head and a headgear item. If you look at it that way 150 troops plus a pile of booklets would cost about $160-175. Really though the focus of this thread I have to agree with. Bottom line people what more minifigs. Everyone from children to the old fart Lego collectors want more figures. I think that Lego would only do itself a favor by doubling the number of figs per set and raising the price $1-1.50 per figure (as they will have to add extra accessories also). This way a $20 set with 3 figs would become a $25 set with six figs. The small $9 sets with two figs would be a $12 set with four. Castles would become $90-$110 sets with 10 figs to $100-$120 with 20. This is what people want. It would change how much people buy. Bottom line, this is the most cost effective way for Lego to increase set cost and get people to buy more Lego than they do now. Megabloks started doing this but they are getting more and more stingy with figs. A $100 dragon castle used to come with 20+ figs. Now, a new dragon castle for $100 will only have 8 or 9. They got children hooked and now they can cheapen up. Lego did this in the 90s. They <insert that tiresome argument> everything and lowered fig count to lower costs. This in my opinion is the very thing that lowered sales. It doesn't matter if you can make something for less when you are selling less of it anyway. This topic really is a can of worms for most people. I think seeing as how Admiral Giddens has joined our boards, perhaps we can discuss the issues that matter most to us and ask him to bring it to the next ambassador meeting on behalf of Eurobricks. Can we come to an agreement on issues like these? I will start a new thread for this. -
That takes too long SKIP A FEW, 999

Have any of you seen this? Someone on CC pointed it out. Quick make this front page news this is great! :oo :oD :-D This is better than any castle set yet made. I think I am in *wub* wub *wub*

Small toys or almost any toys in the US that are for young children have many laws regarding "safety". Everything that actually shoots is either made of foam or soft rubber. That is why the new rubber "canon balls" are okay. It is for legal butt covering though. Lego does not want to be sued or waste money/time in legal proceedings. We can't even have Kinder Eggs :'(

Jon I sent you a PM. I am willing to trade or buy those sets/parts. Let me know.

This should be good. I am going to get some popcorn. Lucas never had two supreme darkside sith masters duke it out before. Bring on the force lightning! :oD

That depends on how well they do in sales I am guessing. I would say, yes they will do more than one but all seven will entirely depend on the income. If this first one does well then a minimum of three movies I would predict. If the first one does as well as say LoTR or Star Wars, or the first three do well, then all seven. If you like ship adventures you should read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It isn't a pirate story but it is an adventure on the high seas with slavers, monsters, foul weather and magic. You can often buy the whole series in one paperback book for around $20. It make a decent value and is great if you have or want children.
