  1. @Capt Wolf Island 5: Castor Calvo's expedition into the inland of the island known as Castor had been a moderate success. They had managed to chart the most important features but had also had a few scruffs with the elusive, but surprisingly ferocious natives, leading to a few wounded men. (Island rumours sent via PM) Now was the time to set out south for an anchorage. Where will the expedition establish their base of operations (indicate on map) and how permanent will it be? Fuerte Unido: There was some degree of celebration as the Nightwing and the Colonial Storm arrived in Fuerte Unido - and the crews found plenty of distractions in the taverns of the town. However, they had work to do. Show the meeting with Guilder or his representatives, and where they ships go next. Will Merker manage to convince Bloenhardt to split up, or does he have other plans?
  2. @Darnok The Nipper The Nipper had been restocked, and the remaining trip back to Mesabi Landing transpired without incident (apart from a few drunken brawls...). It was a healthy crew that arrived at a settlement which looked somewhat different from the one they had left all those months ago. It would appear that many buildings had been repaired, improved, and renovated, and while it still had the pioneering spirit about it, everything looked more solid, of higher quality, and the crew had to wonder what had happened. Outside the settlement, they found their clues, as broken palms and dried up sea weeds showing signs of the tsunami that had devastated the city. Upon landing, they found a lively market, and could sell exotic goods, stories, and maps from the new lands for a grand total of 250 dbs. (Transferred directly) But what would they do now? On Calinstock The crew had settled in nicely in their new camp, which had turned more permanent than first expected. They had had ample time to build up the facilities needed for comfortable living. (two small and one medium properties can be licensed by microbuild at normal cost. Can be one microbuild, but all three buildings must stand out) It would seem a WTC paradise - far from, even unknown for the Corlander authorities, and their location only known to themselves and the crew of the Nipper. Would this be a new start for the crew, and what would they do with their time? There was still plenty to explore on the island, the strange tower, or they could expand on their settlement. What would be next?
  3. I really enjoy following the this storyline - both the writing and the builds are really nice, and on top of this, it is a collab, something I am hoping we will see more and more of in BoBS. Both your scenes are excellent, with a variety of details and very lively posing. Great work! Can't wait to see how this campaign progresses (although any Oleander involvement in foreign lands obviously gives rise to concern! :P)
  4. You could perhaps use the four faction flags? :)
  5. To Jorin Farrensman, Shipwright The HMS Ymir has been entered into the numbers of the Royal Navy and is currently undergoing trials outside Balondia. Initial reports indicate a very effective design and a very weatherly brig, quick in stays. Payment has been transferred, and so far, the Royal Navy is most satisfied with the performance of your shipyards. I am certain she will do the Farrensman shipyards, the Royal Navy, and Her Majesty proud. At your service Rear-admiral Fletcher Commander-in-Chief, Royal Terra Novan Navy ___________________ Excellent work, Wellesley! It has been great following your process, and I have to say, the result is stunning. I honestly think this is the best rigging I have ever seen on any Lego moc.The sails are great, as is the rigging itself. My only comment is that if you use thinner line for the shrouds than for the stays, it is easier to tighten it. The hull is great too! (And I really enjoy that it has a backstory) As others have suggested, I think you can work a little more with your pictures - Even simple cropping can do a big difference. (Also, I can suggest buying a big roller blind in grey or white for background - cheap and easy!) Great work!
  6. And another ship for the Royal Navy straight from the Farrensman Shipyards ( @Wellesley ) The admiralty will shortly decide on which vessel is to be rewarded a ship from the prizeyards. Edit: The HMS Ymir has been licensed and 60 dbs transferred to Wellesley
  7. The damages had been more extensive than first believed - a fallen t'gallant mast from the Greyhound had stove in a plank below the waterline on the Diligence, requiring her to be hove down for careening in a sandy cove, further delaying the squadron, which was now finally calling at King's Port. Luckily, neither the Concorde nor the Amiable had suffered any significant damage, and with the paint and gilding brought for the purpose, all ships looks as good as new standing into the busy port. Now, the expedition would have to decide on its next steps.
  8. Hmm, the Gentleman Privateer will have to find new conveyance for his schemes! Great write-up, as always - these things always have me sitting at the edge of my seat! :D
  9. We are opening up the AMRCAs a bit, so you can basically do as you please - as long as you let the AMRCA team determine the outcome of your actions. :) and yes, sorry for the delay :/
  10. @Captain Genaro, @KotZ, @Bodi, @Dukesc The rebellion In Nola Mar, the fervour of the rebellion is moderating, although the rebels are spending their time wisely, consolidating their hold on the settlement. The initial influx of volunteers has died down, although frequently, loyalists individuals are making their way to the new loyalist stronghold. It remains to be seen if the movement can continue on its own, or if vaning enthusiasm and the constant risk of Terraversan intervention will require outside involvement. For now, the situation is at a standstill. Will Hollande deliver on his promises of men, ships, and funding; wait out developments, or deny involvement altogether? The Quiver of Artemis It was found! Emile and the Huntress had discovered the location of the mysterious artifact, sought after by so many for so long - but what to do with it now? In itself, it was worth little, but as a relic of the Faith, it held great importance to many factions, particularly in Terraversa. It was clear the Huntress desired it - and she would offer a lump sum for it - asking Emile to name his price. However, the Huntress had still revealed little of her political stance, other than claiming to be "of the people, for the people" - on matters of Terraversan independence, she had skillfully avoided any commitments, and Emile was starting to suspect her motives. With the relic, she would be able to bolster the numbers of her own faction - but what would she use this power for? It could also be said that the relic belonged to the Atwi in which (forgotten) temple it had been found. The Atwi had been firm supporters of Terraversan independence, but would the gift of the refound Quiver be enough to sway them to support the Olean cause, if not outright return to Mardierian rule? Oldis, while unaware of the Quiver as other than a myth, would certainly hold great appreciation towards those who offered him such a powerful symbol, which could help him consolidate his power as Archduke. In Kings Port, the Mardierian loyalists were looking for Hollande's support for their rebellion in Nola Mar, and the relic might help raise more settlements or people for the cause. Without a doubt, they would see the relic as a powerful gift. However, it could also risk raise awareness of the rebellion, before it had truly taken hold. One other obvious option remained: The Order of the Faith. No doubt, the "right" thing to do was to hand over the relic to the order, or construct a temple around it - either on Terraversa or elsewhere. Such a temple would surely draw in pilgrims and commerce to whereever it was placed. Removing it from Terraversa might cause some local backlash, though. (If a temple is constructed, it can done as a free large property activated by microbuild, regardless of location, and will come with additional bonuses) However, it was entirely up to the RNTC what to do with the Quiver of Artemis - and the options above were only the initial considerations - other roads may be taken, if so desired.
  11. I think the general ideas are actually in place, but just never written up. I will see if we can get these published in some form soonish :)
  12. Can we potentially maintain Drunknok as handle for BoBs purposes? That would probably be easiest? :) If not, I'd think we can figure out how to make the change. @Mesabi Had some tool he used. He might have some inspiration for you. Otherwise, I like pen and paper myself ;)
  13. @Legonaut Your fantastic build is being considered for a frontpage, but the pictures aren't too suitable. Could you possibly look at the feedback below? :)
  14. Your entered ships can be licensed for free - none of the entries (of any player) has been subpar (rather the opposite), so that much is in place. :) (We are working on the rest. And the t- and aMRCA. And everything else ;) )
  15. Ah, well, I was thinking one of the capital ships of the Olean navy was an option, but I can understand if you want to keep it for yourself ;)
  16. You do not need to license the temple :) (But can) It can be mounted on an existing Olean vessel.
  17. @Ross Fisher There was no doubt the lightning bolt of Zeus was a relic of great importance. While opinions to its true power varied (those pesky heathen Corlander scientists would put it down to the economic and morale effects of an important relic; the profiteering Eslandians would simply put a price on it; and the Order, righteous in its piety, had already proclaimed it a true miracle), its effects had already shown on the populace of Astrapi, which had been celebrating since the Padre's arrival. With the packet boat a sealed message had arrived, though, from the heads of the Order, causing the conclave to reconsider its decision to send the relic to Granoleon. In it, the Order expressed a wish for the full potential of the relic to be exploited, and put this in the hands of the Padre. So what would he do? It is the weapon of Zeus and shall be employed as such: to smite our enemies! Mount the lightning bolt on a warship. It will fuse with the figure-head and be inseparable from the vessel, to be lost or taken with the vessel. Adds a BoBS card locked to the vessel with 2+ to both firepower and hull. (Vignette required showing a figurehead holding/having the relic mounted, specifying the vessel in question) It is a symbol of faith, and shall be placed on display for all to see! Build a temple for the relic in Astrapi, which will add a trade value of 50 dbs to the settlement. (Build the temple) No, this is too risky! We *must* take it to Granoleon for safe keeping in the vaults of the Order! Show the relic being locked away in the vaults of the Order, which will compensate you with 250 dbs in cash.
  18. Good point - as Capt Wolf says, we are (all...) a bit pressed for time, but this would be a good help. Not super easy to do I fear, but a good idea that we should consider!
  19. Bought it, but only ever used it once - it is very hard (for me) to incorporate in the construction of anything but a longboat... :P
  20. Well, I can only speak for myself, and it will for me. :/ The bow is an area I always struggle with, honestly. I have tried many different solutions, typically involving hinges. This is an example of something that has been reworked endlessly, and I am still not too happy about it. (And involves quite a bit of bending) This one is better (ignore the beakhead, which needs to be reworked. Also, the lower hinge bricks are not aligned as well as they should be). Otherwise, I will always suggest taking a look at ships by @Legostone , @Bodi or some of the other expert builders here. There are many interesting solution out there! :)
  21. It think we will stick to the text as is - so you need to meet the requirements (a) water, and b) permanent structure) - regardless of size. On top of this, you can get a 50 % discount on one medium and one small licensed before the next turn concludes. (so you will not have a license discount for the large property, but it will still count towards the requirements) Clear? :)
  22. I am trying to get heads or tails on the amrcas these days - can you remind me which one you are referring to specifically here? :)
  23. I prefer the fourth option, with the third one a close second. The second one is my least favourite, as it seems to crowded around the middle.
