Nice custom hull, Gedren, and those palm trunks actually work well as masts, plus they allow you to give the masts that nice rake. Overall very nice little mediterranean style vessel and nice story. I doubt those flowers are very practical when handling her, though! FLOWAH POWAH!

[COR - FB] Selling captured ship, Blind Jack
Bregir replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
First of all, the Montoya Estate thanks the captain of the HMS Whisper for saving the crew of the Otter. Thank you for bringing our boys home! I like the little interior scene too, and was wondering who had bought the license! -
[COR - MRCA Results] Ransom for Captured Crew
Bregir replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice MRCA result build - in both idea and execution. I like how the prisoners are chained together, and your depiction of Decker's crew is really nice. Although they don't seem to be very attentive guards, currently! I hope your crew will be returned in good condition! -
Another nice looking schooner, Silentwolf. I think the Hunter looks even sleeker and faster than the Bagg of Bolton, and I am a particular fan of flushdecked designs for these types of vessels. The rigging is looking pretty nice, although I would raise the gaff of both spanker sails, to increase their size. Especially the spanker on the fore is very small. And as I said elsewhere, the spankers should be brought all the way in to the mast. And I fear that figurehead will be sadly in the way when handling the headsails! Overall, very nice addition to the Royal Navy! Well done!

[OL-FB3] Battle of the Terrabank - Continuation
Bregir replied to Franco Clarke's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
While the MRCA sees many ships lost and taken, I think your narratives just about tops it. So much action going on! As before, I will say that I really like the logical tactical considerations that guides your stories, but that I resent any implications that Corlanders should be behind these attacks! And as I have said earlier, I suggest you add some more rigging to your upcoming vessels. I like how you include bowwaves and wakes for the vessels, and the photo angles really put us right in the middle of the action. Well done! -
[ESL-FB3] Market house on the village green
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I am really liking the distinctive style you are developing with our builds, Captain Wolf. This one in particular reminds me of deGothia's Benoic builds. (Which is most definitely a compliment!) The roof has a wonderful colourplay. The building in itself is great, and the flesh bricks work surprisingly well in top of the white ground floor. The cobblestone pathways is very well exectuted, and I too like the liveliness of the market scene. Well done - I hope Montoya and Cooke will one day have a chance to visit Weelond. -

[COR - May FB2] Penal Quarry and Brickworks
Bregir replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great looking quarry, Ayrlego! This is where the blockiness of Lego really can be of advantage! The vegetation up top looks nice, as does the tan and dark tan of the sandstone quarry. The idea of a penal quarry is great, and I like the guards and the prisoners both. Mooreton Bay is shaping to be an interesting settlement! -
Very pretty brig, KB. I like the discreet yellow colourscheme, with its nice red details. I personally prefer these simpler colour schemes as more practical for a fighting vessel than a more spit-and-polish look with gold leaf left and right. I think the flush-decked design is great - looks very realistic, and in fact only very few brigs had a quarterdeck. However, I have to agre that the windows included here, giving the impression of a cabin, seems out of place. The cabin would be below deck, and the sides would be without windows for the sake of structural integrety. The beakhead has a very nice shape, as does the rounded bow. The only issue is the lack of gunports for bow chasers. The overall shape and proportions of the hull looks very realistic. I like the rigging, especially the masts and bowsprit in more than one part. The only thing that strike me as a bit "out" is the spanker on the mizzen. It seems to me that the gaff should be raised a bit, possibly with a more horisontal angle. Currently, the sail looks very long compared to its height. All in all a very fine vessel, which to me could easily be a 5LA, given her size and type. Will be looking forward to fighting pirates alongside her!

Interesting statue, and very action packed scene! I like this interpretation of a bounty run, although of course, I cannot condone of theft from the indegenous people of New Terra! The colours look like they might a bit oversaturated, or something, but I suppose that has something to do with the rendering setting?

[COR - FB] Captured Ship, HMS Bagg of Bolton
Bregir replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
First of all, I really like the story. You manage to include the full MRCA story, plus adding your own interesting narration to it. Well done! The schooner (This is definitely a topsail schooner! ) is very nice too. I like the inclusion of gun ports in the bows for chasers, as well as the guns in the cabin, and the use of the pony for the figurehead is great too. The general shape of the hull is quite good. I would suggest a bit more curvature on the bow railings, but the shape of the cabin gives her a very sleek and fast look. The rigging on El Bellos and the Golden Filly was already quite good, but it is nice to see that you have listened to the suggestions. The topsails (over the spankers) are much better now. Your square topsail would look better and more realistic if it was narrowing a bit more towards the top, as it is almost rectangular now, which looks somewhat odd. I like the inclusion of three head sails. If possible, I would space out the masts a bit more, and make the spanker sails larger, as well as bringing them all the way in to the mast, as the current gap between mast and sail will do nothing good for her handling. All in all, a very nice addition to the Corlander Fleet! Well done! -
Thanks for the feedback. I am happy you like the dark tan slopes as dug up dirt. Now I just hope I strike something useful!

But only for the small settlements, or? For the higher levels, we still need to meet the specific requirements, right?

A question: I just won the auction for the Revenant, but already have 3 vessels registered. What do I do if I were to pay the extra 50 % license fee to make her active? Plus, I made a prospecting build on Cocovia. I would like to know how and where to transfer the 25 db prospecting fee. I suppose the build should not be licensed, as it generates no profits? EDIT: Settlement levels. Did I read somewhere that for town level, specific requirements were unapplicable, and that the settlement only needs 11 properties of any kind?

[ESL - MRCA] MAESTRO Residence on Prio
Bregir replied to Maxim I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great looking house, Maxim - the colourscheme is nice, and the golden details and the texturing of the walls is just right. I would have put in a door, as the current setup very much exposes a very empty interior, which is a shame, as it detracts from the overall build. The soldiers are looking good too, although some landscaping around the house would have added a lot. Lastly, I am wondering that Maestro is so public in its support. With Mardier neighbouring Eslandola, and, although marred by civil war, still a powerful player, might it not spell doom for Maestro's vessels? Or a diplomatic crisis between Eslandola and Mardier? Perhaps even open war? -

Amusing little factory, Captain. I really like the play on these tourist traps. I recently went to Firenze, and saw the same painting being sold all over the city. Apparently they've got monkeys working doubletime too!- 22 replies

The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
1) I think someone needs to call you in, yes. 2) You would fight for Prio, unless you chose the option to fight for Mardier. 3) Yes, winner takes it all 4) Nope, it will be locked there and unavailable for the MRCA. -

Mr. Secretary The Montoya Estate pledges the Justicia (4A) under command of Lieutenant McLeod towards the task force. The vessel is at your disposal. Sincerely Don Isaac Montoya ______________ Great to see some interest, guys and gals! We are all hoping to form a powerful squadron, and it is already starting to build! Great work, guys. So far: 1 x 1A 2 x 2A 1 x 3A 2 x 4A 1 x 5LA 1 x 5HA Hopefully more will sign up, and we are expecting more from Oleon and Corrington in before the end of the month. So pirates and privateers, beware! A few comments: @Kwatchi: Generally, the task force is not going to attack sea rats. However, a word of warning, trying to prey on vessels from Eslandola, Oleon, or Corrington will lead to retribution. And the convoys will not be unescorted. @Puvel: We expect this to continue for at least some time, so your warship will be very welcome! @KB: Thanks - glad you like the light effect! And a beard is highest fashion in Bellson right now, so no shave! The build is actually a testing bed for some offset techniques, and I think it turned out reasonably well. I am looking forward to testing them on a large scale. (If not exactly Gideon-scale... )

"...now, my dear friend, you really cannot hold me here any longer!" Cooke said. "But..." Cooke interupted Montoya immediately: "If I hear one more word of a curious beetle or a non-descript turtle, I swear by the gods, I am going to have you keelhauled under your own vessel! It has been weeks since we set out from King's Harbour towards Quinnsville and sir Smaugton has been expecting us for at least a month!" Montoya blushed, hesitated, and discreetly let go of a bunch of feathers, before speaking up. "I have no idea why you would expect such of me..." Clearing his throat he continued "Of course... As you have so often told me, the tide waits for no man..." Cooke nodded with satisfaction "Indeed!" "As soon as we have dispatched the orders I asked you to write up..." As Cooke held up a document, Montoya nodded "Thank you, good sir. I hope you support my dispositions..." "I do, entirely. McLeod will be happy with a new command, and will make a fine captain. And more so, the Justicia is going to be a fine addition to the pirate hunting task force." "Let is be so, and then we are off to Quinnsville..." The "Justicia" is a sistership to the "HMS Kite" (Formerly "War Dwarf") by Legostone. I simply manipulated the colours a bit. Thanks for looking - C&C is welcome, as always. The Justicia will be my contribution to the pirate hunting task force.
